Remember Mark Milligan, Socceroo, Olyroo, former rising Sydney FC star. He still doesn't have a
club, but left Australia..for what?
Will he return? He could get a game with Perth Glory, they need him. Indeed his fellow Olyroo Trent
McClenahan doesn't have a team either.
What's to become of the talented but seemingly lost Mark Milligan.

First Half:
Australia defended well against the expected Uzbek onslaught. It never came, not early and it
wasn't until Australia had scored that the Uzbeks were able to get some sustained pressure and
corners.
The feared Uzbek's seemed to fear Australia and maybe they should.
Quarter Finals of the Asian Champions League kick-off tonight with Australia's first club, Adelaide
United, to get to this stage of the competition away in Japan against Kashima Antlers.
Two-legged affair so United will need to score against what should be a very strong Japanese side
and a big big test for Adelaide.

Holland coach Bert van Marwijk has played down reports of a rift with Dirk Kuyt after the Liverpool
forward voiced his dissatisfaction at being relegated to the bench.
Speaking to Sportweek magazine ahead of Holland's World Cup qualifier against FYR Macedonia on
Wednesday, Kuyt lamented the decision of Van Marwijk to leave him on the bench for Saturday's
friendly against Australia, branding it "unacceptable".

is hardly a journalist worthy of the label.
His latest effort, got into the paper, why is anybody's guess, and his bitter little rant included

No longer will a Caitlin Munoz shield, an Amy Chapman goal, or Lydia Williams save just be seen by
those at the game.

In 2008, Australian sport has undergone turmoil. Basketball hit the wall with at least 3 teams
disappearing. Women's basketball struggled against the rise of trans-tasman netball. CEO John
O'Neil declared rugby union financial dead and 'boring'. Rugby league has 'grabbed the table' in
its 100th year, with fans and players deserting on mass, and government redirecting money away.

Japan won away 3-2 in Bahrain, and in the big news Aussie opponents on Thursday our time Uzbekistan
got flogged 3-0 by Qatar!
Fantastic result for Australia. Given we comfortably disposed of Qatar, if we can get a decent
result in Tashkent on Thursday we could be off to a flyer.
Putting ourselves and Japan firmly in the driving seat for South Africa, even at this early stage.
I heard the Dutch team didn't do too well against Australia. Although I heard the goal was pretty
impressive. Still, if I were team manager, I wouldn't be bothered too much. Friendly games don't
really say much and when you have to play 45 minutes with ten men it sort of takes

Australia and Asian Football. Since our acceptance as a Member of the Asian Football Conference and
of course our successful sojourn to Germany in 2006, Australian Football both Internationally and

World Cup in South Africa.
The UEFA gave Van Marwijk and Stekelenburg their answer during the second half of the friendly
against Australia: Stekel can play against Madedonia but will be suspended for the next friendly.
This raised an interesting question: who would Van Marwijk select if Stekelenburg would have been
suspended?
This season hasn't even really started yet or Arjen Robben already missed an international game due

Last December, I wrote a post detailing the impressive late-game exploits of Everton and
Australia attacking midfielder Tim Cahill. There is no doubt that Cahill is the most clutch player

team needs a goal to either equalize or win a match, Cahill [.
It's been an emotional couple of weeks of Adelaide's Robbie Cornthwaite.
The club's foundation defender has not only found himself unwittingly dragged into a spitting storm
but he's also been the target of abuse from his own supporters for scoring a horror own goal in the
away leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-final against Kashima Antlers
But on Wednesday night in Adelaide, Cornthwaite banished all those demons with a tie-winning headed
goal which secured a 2-1 aggregate win over the 10-time Japanese champions and a passage into the
final four.
Every journo in the country wants Craig Moore back in the Socceroos.
Every player says we need Moore. We don't, and I don't want him nor his thuggish style.
Craig Moore has played and achieved great things for Rangers and the Socceroos. But he came back to
Australia younger than many.
Last weekend's string of unpredictable results in the English Premier League has been mirrored in
Australia proving the A-League remains as competitive as ever.
While Hull City were shocking Arsenal and Wigan upsetting big spending Manchester City, closer to
home joint league leaders Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory both lost matches they were widely
anticipated to win.
Yesterday's team selection against York underlined Boro's lack of depth at the back. With Luke
Oliver missing after picking up a knock against Grays, Graham Westley opted to play Michael
Bostwick alongside Ronnie Henry in defence. Instead of moving Albrighton to centre half and
bringing in Anaclet, Westley unsettled both the midfield and defence and paid [.
