Liverpool have drawn up their blueprint for the summer transfer market and it does not include
significant outgoings from their squad.
Manager Kenny Dalglish spent more than £80million in the last close-season on the likes of Stewart
Downing, Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam, but a disappointing Premier League campaign has
included just six home wins.
Andy Carroll has surprisingly been dropped for tonight's FA Cup 3rd round tie against Bolton, but
Steven Gerrard returns to the starting line-up, as does Jonjo Shelvey, Fabio Aurelio and Jamie
Carragher. Here is the team:Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Aurelio, Gerrard, Spearing, Kuyt. Shelvey,
Maxi, Bellamy.
Anfield Rd: Gerrard starts for Reds in cup 3rd round
Liverpool have their captain back as Steven Gerrard makes his first start since his
pre-Christmas injury lay-off. Manager Kenny Dalglish has picked a strong side for the visit of
Oldham in this Budweiser sponsored cup match, but as strong as it might be it isn't Liverpool's
strongest.

It's finally the scoreline we were waiting for, but a lackadaisical first half and an incident
late in the second take some of the sheen off for Liverpool, who worked their way past Oldham on
the strength of a terrific display by Craig Bellamy.
Since arriving at Liverpool in 2006, Fabio Aurelio has spent an incredible 23 months on the
sidelines recovering from injury, which makes him the most injured player in the club's history.
After a frustrating spell on the sidelines this season, the Brazilian made his return in the 5-1
victory at Oldham.
Liverpool left-back Fabio Aurelio is fit again after his recent injury blow, and despite the
frustration of having to deal with regular setbacks, the Brazilian is raring to go. However, it has
been difficult for him to actually get into the team, something he admits is very frustrating.

understandable after the heavy fixture list recently.
Suarezgate is over! Racism has been solved in Engand! Rejoice, peasants! Though all snark aside,
it's genuinely refreshing to be able to pass along a collection of the day's news and notes without
having any of the items relate to the story that's seemed the sole focus of Liverpool discussion
for nigh on four months now.
It looks like Jim down South, sounds like Jim and according to those in the know it will be
Jim.
And while Australia Coaching stocks are at an all time high the Victory are unable to set a new
course or claim to be an innovative club if they take on honest, but still unproven Jim.
He dropped Broxham and Brebner from the midfield and that for me gives him a huge tick, a huge
insight.
Liverpool have been hit with a few injury concerns ahead of Sunday's FA
Cup quarter-final against Stoke City after Bellamy joined Glen Johnson, Daniel Agger and Jack
Robinson in the treatment room this week.
Dalglish told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Glen has got a niggle, Bellers had a niggle the other night.
Melbourne Victory need an Aussie Coach.
Someone who understands Australia, our football history and our football present. Ernie Merrick was
a guy who understood Melbourne and Melbourne Victory he was an Aussie Coach in my book having lived
here for 20 years.
Just like I'm an Aussie Blogger.

FYI: For the second time in the last three matches, I'll have to miss this game due to prior
commitments. Unlike the Newcastle abomination, I'll have a review up later in the evening. Just no
live tweets or semi-immediate match write-up. This is what this season has done to me; I honestly
forgot Liverpool were playing when scheduling a meeting.
On Thursday night in Lisbon, former Liverpool left-back Emiliano Insua turned in a man of the
match performance as he and his Sporting teammates fought back late to get a 2-1 win over Athletic,
who've to this point been the darlings of the competition. They'll have plenty of work to do at the
San Mamés, where Athletic are unbeaten in the Europa League, but they managed to give themselves a
chance at forcing their way into what many predicted would be an all-Spanish final, and, at least
on the night, they have the Merseyside castaway to thank.
Goals:Skrtel (OG) 6'
Well, that was embarrassing. On Hodgson's big day, a performance reminiscent of his horrific
tenure, against another of his former clubs.
Because of Liverpool's multiple, frequent failures earlier this season, the result's basically
meaningless.

Ahead of Saturday's FA Cup Final with Chelsea, Manager, Kenny Dalglish opted to give a run-out to
some of the squad members for the game against Fulham at Anfield.
In came Doni, Coates, Kelly, Shelvey, Maxi and Aurelio.
After Captain for the night, Martin Skrtel's unfortunate own-goal, the game never really got going.
Gremio have announced the signing of Fabio Aurelio on an 18-month deal after he was allowed to
leave Liverpool.
Aurelio has spent the past six years with Liverpool, having previously plied his trade for Valencia
when he first came to Europe.
However, his involvement in recent times has been restricted by injuries and Kenny Dalglish
confirmed at the end of the season that he would not be staying on as his contract was set to
expire.
Liverpool have released Brazilian full-back Fabio Aurelio after six years at Anfield, with the
32-year-old set to return to football in his native country after agreeing terms with Gremio.
His new club announced the acquisition on its official website, stating: "Gremio confirm
agreement with the left-back Fabio Aurelio Rodrigues".
