Liverpool veteran Jamie Carragher has given the thumbs up to manager Roy Hdogson's transfer
dealings.
Hodgson, 63, arrived at Anfield this summer and immediately tried to reshape the squad under
serious financial constraints.
Portugal star Raul Meireles, Fulham's Paul Konchesky, ex-Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole,
Middlesbrough's Brad Jones, ex-Standard Liege attacker Milan Jovanovic, Juventus' Christian Poulsen
and Rangers centre-back Danny Wilson were all brought in this summer, with Fabio Aurelio also being
re-signed.
Liverpool travel to St Andrews for their next Premier League outing, hoping to take more than
the point that David Ngog's strike earned them on their last visit.
With Liverpool drawing both games last season against Birmingham, 2-2 at home and 1-1 away, plus
the previous 4 Premier League games before that, when these teams have met, they will certainly be
looking to improve on their away record.

A new manager, yet a somewhat slow start to the season. New signings, yet a shortage of
strikers. Hope, yet barely a reason to believe. What kind of season are Liverpool in for? The first
four games of the season already paint a bleak picture for Roy Hodgson and his Reds. What has
contributed to what's happening and is there a solution?
Quasi-busy Tuesday as I continue to ignore the Champions League.
For no reason other than petty jealousies, of course.
First, I wanted to give a quick update on the way things are going to go on the blog from here
on out. If you've been around for awhile you're no doubt familiar with Noel from the comment
boards, and you'll also know that he contributed a few pieces in the past couple of weeks (here,
here, and here).
Thursday see's a return to Europa League matters for Liverpool FC as Roy Hodgson and his side go
in search of a 6th straight European win in Utrecht.
Liverpool will be looking to improve on last week's midweek outing, which culminated in defeat
at the hands of Northampton Town and Roy Hodgson is expected to field a side with a greater level
of experience to help try and ensure Liverpool's progression in the tournament with one cup route
now dead and buried.
