My first post will be about who Liverpool should buy during the transfer window because this is
a critical point in our season and it's a time that Rafa must not!

Because of my basketball season tickets, I probably won't have the review up right after the game.
Thankfully, I'll at least see the match before leaving, but I won't get a chance to write a review
until 4 or 5pm. Sorry.

I should have gone to the basketball game.
A great first half, but an awful second half. And Liverpool lose despite taking the lead thanks to
said awful second half.
This fixture usually gives us goals a plenty, but with Arsenal fielding no out and out strikers
and Torres not yet up to full fitness, this could be a tad dreary. Aquilani the promised man, the
Italian who will make all the bad things go away isn't fit to start.
Liverpool lineup: Reina, Carragher, Johnson, Agger, Aurelio, Kuyt, Lucas,
Gerrard, Mascherano, Benayoun, Torres.
For forty-five minutes, Liverpool seemed hell-bent on repeating the trend of this season whereby
after going ahead they seemed to be more than willing to let Wigan get level. Fortunately, Wigan
lacked the quality, not to mention the good fortune, to do so but Liverpool's quality of play in
the first half was for long stretches woeful.
Winter has bitten for the first time this week but, like the rest of his team-mates, Fabio Aurelio
has kept himself warm by basking in the glow of a Merseyside derby victory.
Last Sunday's hard fought 2-0 win over Everton has, at long last, released some of the pressure
that had been building on Liverpool and given Rafa Benitez and his players reason to breathe out a
little.
If someone had told Rafael Benitez back in September that Liverpool's final Champions League Group
E match would be a dead-rubber, it is not unreasonable to suggest his response would have been
along the lines of a satisfied smile.
Of course, like most, that would have been to assume that the Reds would have sealed qualification
from a useful, but hardly terrifying, group with a game to spare.
Liverpool: Cavalieri, Darby, Agger, Skrtel, Insua, Benayoun, Mascherano, Aquilani, Dossena,
Gerrard, Kuyt. Subs: Reina, Torres, Aurelio, Kyrgiakos, Carragher, Spearing, Pacheco.
Rafa Benitez has named his side to face Arsenal at Anfield, with Fernando Torres returning to the
starting line up. The team in full is Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Aurelio, Kuyt, Mascherano,
Lucas, Benayoun, Gerrard, Torres. Subs: Cavalieri, Aquilani, Insua, Ngog, Degen, Skrtel, Dossena.

David N'gog scored his 6th goal of the season to give Liverpool a 1-0 lead at half time at home
against Wigan. Aurelio swung in a cross which N'gog did well to beat Kirkland to, as the Wigan
keeper was coming out to claim it. 1-0 after 9 mins, Liverpool had another great chance to score

There is an irony attached to Rafa Benitez's signing of Glen Johnson, if you are willing to believe
the chatter in some parts.
It goes like this. The manager who is more preoccupied with defending and making sure the back of
his team is in order actually weakened his rearguard by selling a player who could occupy a number
of positions for someone who struggles to do his main job.
Sevilla 1 - 2 Getafe(0-1) 12' Soldado, (0-2) 33' Soldado, (1-2) 51' Negredo
- Giving that I was in Seville and there were cheap tickets I decided to go along. It was
freezing and Sevilla never really woke up from their early slumber which saw Roberto
Soldado tuck away the two chances that came his way.

It's almost the same line-up I guessed last time out, except no Aquilani, which I'm sure will be
well received.
