Three Possible New-Comers to Gerland This Season.
I'm planning to do one of these at the end of every week to sum-up the concrete, as well as all
the crap rumors out there concerning Lyon. So here we go:
Possible Ins:
Lisandro Lopez: Negotiations for the Argentine International are still
on-going, much to most of our relief, after the Aly Cissokho debacle.
Even though a number of big European clubs have been linked with a move for Karim
Benzema, it seems that the excellent striker will stay at Lyon for another year. Lyon's
president Jean Michelle Aulas is adamant that Benzema will not leave the club this
summer after speaking with the player's agent.
Lyon have been the dominant force in France for seven long years but that
domination came to an end last season when Bordeaux lifted Ligue 1 title. This is now a
turning point for the club and they need to show everyone how serious they are.
Nevertheless, the first signs are not very positive since Claude Puel's team stayed without
two key players and they will definitely have problems finding the right
replacements.
This will be a short one, and I can't help but point out the overwhelming twisting of quotes to
fit headlines.
First of all there is a quote from Bernard Lacombe, the advisor to Lyon's president, who talked
about clubs being flush with cash. And that it would be difficult to resist a big bid if it came:
"If United want to buy Karim then what can you do?
Lyon Can Finally Fly Straight Again: OL's New Winger Swoops into Town, Hopefully to Take Us to
New Heights.
No, it's not a Ferrari nor Beluga caviar, it's a Brazilian winger. Like and injured bird, OL's left
wing- along with a slew of other issues- hindered it's abilitiy to fly as strong as it was capable
of, but now it's finally healed, stronger than ever, and ready for lift-off.
