Anderson scored a great freekick against Boca Juniors in the Audi Cup this summer and scored a
goal for the Reserves last week, but yesterday he bagged his first competative goal for Manchester
United at the start of his third season for the club. Whilst it became a standing joke amongst the
fans and players, Anderson was quick to remind people of a vital goal he did score for us in
Moscow!

It appears that Milan fans have decided to become the moral police for Ronaldinho's fondness for
the night life.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ronaldinho and goalkeeper Dida were in a Milan night club
when they were approached by fans who instead of asking for their autographs berated them for
staying up so late.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has begun the mind games with Liverpool FC counterpart
Rafa Benitez by declaring Chelsea to be the biggest threat to the Red Devils' dream of an
unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League title.
Big things are expected of Liverpool FC this term after their most consistent top-flight campaign
since 1990.

Edwin Van der Sar has broken two bones in his left hand, meaning he will be out for around eight
weeks. Our keeper has already undergone surgery for the breaks which he sustained in saving Danijel
Pranjic's penalty in the Audi Cup last week.
Edwin will likely miss our games against Arsenal and City but should be back in time to face
Liverpool in October.

Luck isn't really a word you would associate with Ben Foster. He's had more than his fair share
of misfortune during his stop-start career thus far although this could be the chance that the
England international has been waiting for and, if you can excuse the pun, I'm sure he's ready to
grab it with both hands.

incident occurred during the Audi Cup final, where he broke a finger and bone when he saved the
penalty from Pranjic against Bayern Munich. This injury will open the doors for Foster to shine and
secure [.

OTWT home office is a buzz as ESPN 360 is up and running that means more preseason games for the
second installment of the preseason notebook.
• After a terrible Champions League Final United's Anderson looks like he is going to grow up a
little.
• He might not be Ronnie, but few are, Valencia might be better then people think.

There is just one game left of Manchester United's preparation for the new season, there are
many positives to take out as the pre-season has shown, so far, that Michael Owen looks like a good
bit of business, the team has the ability to gel and score goals in the absence of Ronaldo and
Tevez and exciting signs of improvements by both Nani and Dimitar Berbatov.

1. Anderson really can take a free-kick.
2. German food is pretty rank. I don't even know what they do to their mashed potato but it has the
consistency of a stress ball.
3. Antonio Valencia looks to be a good buy.
4. Germans don't get the concept of 'jibbing'. Despite there being no checks for tickets the whole
three days we were travelling around on the U-Bahn, the Germans always bought tickets.

United were in action last night in the final of the Audi Cup, which they eventually went on to
lose on penalties after the match ended goalless. However, the champions were lucky not be three
down at half-time, the fact that they weren't was down to a combination of good fortune and poor
finishing as Bayern Munich squandered several good chances.

It´s never a great feeling to lose a final, not matter how much or how little is at stake, but
I think we can leave Munich with our heads held high. The team which ripped AC Milan apart the
evening before didn´t have a lot of joy against us, despite having the best part of the Allianz
stadium cheering them on.

Well if you're going to miss a crucial penalty kick it's best to do it in the Audi Cup rather
than in any meaningful outing. Why the hell Jonny Evans was taking a penalty kick is beyond me, I
would understand if he was called upon because every other player in the team had taken one, but he
was eighth on the list and he missed and the Germans won the Audi Cup!

Manchester United lost the final of the Audi Cup 6-7 on penalties last night to hosts Bayern
Munich. The score after 90 minutes was 0-0. In the first half both teams had chances to open the
score, with Bayern's Mario Gomez hitting the bar, while United's Berbatov hit the upright with an
acrobatic kick.

Hello there, I'm in the middle of moving house, hence there will be some minimal blogging today.
I will probably be more detailed when I am well settled in my new abode internet connectivity
permitting. In the meantime, hopefully, Stephen Darwin might fill in, or even who knows I might
swoop in when I find an idle computer with internet connection like a starved dog on a juicy bone
and pen some, mostly inconsequential, words.

It's amazing what a difference a year makes. Last summer, the majority of summer friendlies
involving Premier League teams were televised live on Setanta US. This summer, though, Setanta US
has shown zero friendlies and the majority of games have been aired by either Fox Soccer Channel,
GolTV and ESPN360.

He did it. He finally did it. Two years after he was signed from Porto, Anderson scored his
first goal (shootout penalties don't count) for Manchester United. And what a goal it was. A left
footed bender off the post from about 25 out started yesterday's match off properly, and Valencia's
semi (okay, very) lucky shot put the Reds up 2-0.
