While most of this past week's attention was focused on the final group stage matches of the
UEFA Champions League, a lower profile tournament kicked off in the United Arab Emirates.
The FIFA Club World Cup began this past Wednesday, and with three matches already played, the
seven-team tournament's semifinals are set.
The 2009 FIFA Club World Cup begins on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 with the play-off round as
hosts Al-Ahli (from UAE) play New Zealand side Auckland City. The tournament features the club from
each region who has won the Champions League or equivalent (Copa Libertadores in CONMEBOL). The
match will be covered live on our other site, Free Live Sports TV, at the link below.
Like fellow goalkeeper Jens Lehmann a couple weeks ago, Auckland City stopper Paul Gothard found
himself in the middle of a match and in dire need of a pee break. Unlike, Lehmann, who at least had
the modesty to run behind his goal and pee behind the advertising hoardings during a Champions
League match, Gothard just got down on his knees right in front of the penalty spot and pissed his
pants like he's Miles Davis and it's the cool thing to do.

vencedor en la O-League de Oceanía; Pohang Steelers, de Pohang, Corea del Sur; y el mencionado
equipo congoleño.
The FIFA Club World Cup is about to take place in Abu Dhabi between 9th and 19th December. The
competition sees the champions of the six continental federations compete for the title and the
honour to wear the FIFA Club World Badge until the next Championship.

The FIFA 2009 Club World Cup begins this week and wraps up on Saturday, December 19 with the
final. The teams that have qualified have all won their region's club competitions (such as
Champions League) and including FC Barcelona, Atlante, Estudiantes, Pohang Steelers, TP Mazembe,
Auckland City, and host club Al-Alhi.

Pues bien, este día ha salido el contrincante del Atlante en el
Mundial de Clubes que se celebra en Abu Dhabi, en los Emiratos
Árabes Unidos.
Atlante inicia su participación en el mundial de clubes al enfrentar al Auckland City de Nueva
Zelanda en los cuartos de final del torneo.
El partido que iniciara a las 10:00 am tiempo de la ciudad de México será transmitido por Fox
Sports.

tercero en el minuto 91, dando muestra de muchas ganas de destacar por parte del cuadro del Profe

En un partido donde Atlante dominó de principio a fin, vence al Auckland
3 a 0, jugando de manera sobria y tranquila.
Ahora el Barcelona espera al Atlante en la semifinale, duelo de Azulgranas se verá el próximo
16 de diciembre en un duelo que pinta bastante disparejo.
Atlante gano su partido del mundial de clubes ante el Auckland City 3 a 0, el marcador es
engañoso y atlante sufrió en demasía para vencer al equipo neozelandés. Atlante se enfrentara

FC Barcelona would be looking to win a trophy which has eluded them two tinmes in the past in the
World Club Championship in Abu Dhabi. If they manage to do the same then it will be their sixth
trophy in a fantastic year. Guardiiola has already highlighted the capturing of this eluding
Championship as a priority for Barca.
Continúan las acciones en el Mundial de Clubes, después de la victoria conseguida por Auckland
City se definieron los cuartos de final donde el Atlante (México - Concacaf) y Pohang Steelers
(Corea del Sur - Asia), avanzan a semifinales dejando en el camino al Auckland City (Nueva Zelanda
- Oceanía) por 3 a 0 y al TP Mazembe (Congo - Africa) por 2 a 1, respectivamente.
Sin duda alguna el triunfo del Atlante el pasado sábado sobre Auckland
City por 3 a 0 era algo normal, incluso estaba dentro del presupuesto del
equipo dirigido por José Guadalupe Cruz en el Mundial de Clubes, pero el
verdadero reto será vencer al poderoso Barcelona de España.

Atlante regresa de Dubái con el cuarto lugar, después de ganarle tres a cero al Auckland City,
un equipo semiprofesional, cayeron tres goles a uno ante el poderoso Barcelona, y en el partido por
el tercer lugar a pesar de ser ampliamente superiores fueron incapaces de pasar del uno a uno ante
el Pohang Steelers.
