Atlante lands in Barcelona's bracket

The announcement of the draw for the FIFA Club World Cup was actually last week, but got buried in my run-up to the first leg of the CONCACAF/CONMEBOL playoff. Atlante, the 2008-09 CONCACAF Champions League winners, received a beneficial draw when they were paired with the winners of the Al Ahli (UAE) - Auckland City (New Zealand) match. Con la conquista de la Copa Africana de parte del Tout Puissant Mazembe, de Lumumbashi, República Democrática del Congo (ex Zaire) se completaron los seis campeones continentales que disputarán el Mundial de Clubes de la FIFA en Abu Dhabi, Emiratos Árabes Unidos, entre el 9 y el 19 de diciembre.
El cuadro lo componen entonces Barcelona, de España, ganador de la UEFA Champions League; Estudiantes de La Plata, de Argentina, conquistador de la Copa Libertadores de América; Atlante, de la capital de México mudado a Cancún, monarca de la Concacaf; Auckland City, de Nueva Zelanda, vencedor en la O-League de Oceanía; Pohang Steelers, de Pohang, Corea del Sur; y el mencionado equipo congoleño. Mundial del clubes 2009

Estamos ya por iniciar el próximo mes el mundial de clubes, para estar al tanto y al pendiente de los resultados aqui les compartimos el calendario de juegos.

El campeonato se compone de una ronda preeliminar para despues pasar a cuartos de final, despues las semifinales donde Estudiantes de la Plata y Barcelona califican directamente.

O-League 2009/10

Comenzó la O-League, el torneo de clubes más importante de Oceanía, cuyo campeón disputará el Mundial de Clubes de la FIFA 2010. Se trata del nuevo formato que en 2007 adoptó la antigua Copa de Campeones de Oceanía, imitando a la Champions League europea.
