There's been news lately about the Wizards and some potential signings, including designated player
signings. Today, Thad over at The Back Post had a series of posts about some of the guys that were
potential signings, including some designated player candidates.
First, he posted about the rumors of Dayro Moreno, the Colombian international who the Wizards were
linked with.
Rio Ferdinand has claimed that the dressing room atmosphere didn't match what someone might
perceive a dressing room to look like after beating AC Milan 4-0.
He says the mentality at United requires you to always look forward to the next game and how
this attitude is different to that of other clubs he's played for.
If you saw this news this morning that Freddy Adu won't be headed to Switzerland to play for FC
Sion then the thought had to have popped into your head (for me it was the third or forth time this
has happened). Its time for the once prized teenager to return home to Major League Soccer.
In four years since he left MLS to go to Europe he's played for four clubs, in three countries,
and has only seen action on the field 47 times in those four years.
Newcastle United's newest recruit to the Youth Academy is Remie Streete, who is a center-back born
in South Shields. Remie Streete with Alan Shearer And the youngster, who was the very first winner
of the Jack Hixon award last week, presented by Geordie legend Alan Shearer, seems to have the
right attitude, as he has talked today that [.
Tottenham's Jermaine Defoe has spoke out about the fact that Joe Cole could be leaving Chelsea this
summer. Like all Chelsea fans he finds it hard to believe.
He said:
"I can't believe Joe Cole could be leaving Chelsea. He will be out of contract in the summer if he
doesn't sign a new deal and Chelsea would lose a magnificent player.

Stuart James writes in the Guardian that Stephen Ireland, who joined Aston Villa this week as part
of the deal that took James Milner in the opposite direction, tore into everyone, from the manager
Roberto Mancini to the club's "money-obsessed" young players, as he revealed the full extent of his
anger at the way he has been treated.
Although the ‘Copa del Rey' match that Real Madrid head into is against a 3rd division club,
Murcia, Mourinho has went on to warn some players that will be given the opportunity to play. In
other words, it might be a make or break situation for players like Karim Benzema.
Real Madrid suffered an early exit last year in the tournament as they were handed a 4-0 defeat
by Alcorcon last season and Mourinho will not be happy if his side falls short this season.

This might be the 3rd biggest match in the team's short history (the win over DC United to take
the Open Cup, and the away game against Houston in the playoffs were bigger).
I'm finding it a bit difficult to make up my mind for this game. I can see Arsenal scoring three
goals and I can also imagine us conceding three or four. Goes without saying that anything in
between also seems quite possible. We could get a tight win, an exciting draw, or another in the
string of bad losses against United.
The Republik of Mancunia teamed up with Nike last week in support of their Tear Up The Pitch
event and got to spend some time with Manchester United winger Nani.
Nani had just been doing a photoshoot for Nike for the hour or so previous to our chat and
probably the last thing he wanted to do was sit down with a fan.

There are few players in the game today who have achieved as much as AC Milan playmaker
Ronaldinho and even though there are some reports suggesting that Dunga may opt to not take the
former Barcelona legend to the World Cup finals It would surprise me greatly if the Brazilian coach
made such a mistaken decision.

Clint Dempsey is a world-class player, it's time that he starts acting like he's earned that
status and stop assuming that others believe otherwise.
In case you missed my Tweets (@jeremiahoshan), it looks like Blaise Nkufo won't be joining the
team until July 12 or 13 and probably won't play against DC United as originally expected. Instead,
he could make his debut in the friendly against Celtic FC or at the latest at home against Colorado
on July 25.
Last month it was reported that the new coaching regime at Belenenses was cutting loose young
American footballer Freddy Adu. Adu was on loan at Belenenses from Benfica, which owns Adu's
rights.
Adu made the move from MLS to Europe in 2007, but has only mad 11 appearances since signing with
Benfica, which had loaned Adu to Monaco last season, scoring only 2 goals in that time.
Well on the bright side they all looked like they wanted to play The Tottenham Way. Sugar and
spice and all things nice, with pretty passing and a minimum of three dainty touches in possession.
Delightful stuff. Unfortunately this was an occasion which demanded urgency, a determination to win
at all costs, a bloody-minded refusal to accept defeat and generally all those other clichéd
attributes which Spurs perennially lack, but which are prerequisites for top-four
qualification.

Cesc's attitude could win the day.
Cesc Fabregas seems to feel differently about playing Barca than Thierry Henry has about
playing Cesc's side. In fact, he seems much more confident. Where Henry looked like he was
wanted to lay and die Fabregas seems much more sure about his club's chances in the Champion's
League.
The good and bad of tonight, aided of course by hindsight...
Good
- Wayne Rooney's fitness: He managed to run around and even after being kicked and looking as
though he was fucked, managed to keep on playing. Hearing he was in the starting team on the radio
on the way to the ground and listening to all those Ingerlernd pricks whinging about it was really
a brilliant start to the evening.
Last summer, Sir Alex Ferguson claimed Manchester City had a "small club mentality".
Ahead of Saturday's derby, Nigel de Jong claimed that trying to stop United winning the league
served as motivation to perform.
"It would be nice to damage United's title chances," he said. "United need the
points to catch Chelsea and they know Arsenal are behind them.
That right there is Fredy the Flopper in Seattle's new third jersey, kind of a Mountain Dew,
making-love-in-a-canoe ("you-know-what-ing close to water) yellow thing. You can read about it at
this link right here.
In this very space, there have been many discussions about Dynamo potentially unveiling a third
jersey.
Wayne Routledge could yet turn out to be a fantastic signing for Newcastle United. Wayne Routledge
could become great signing for Newcastle United We'll know after next season in the Premiership,
but this lad's attitude and temperament since he arrived from QPR in January, seem to be top rate.
It's always good to have a player like [.
With reports emerging from London about Arsenal slapping a price 80 Million pound, the Cesc
Fabregas transfer saga has truly heaten up. Suddenly the great enthusiasm that surrounded the Barca
Management regarding Fabregas has made way to caution. The recent comments made by sporting
director, Txiki Begiristain is a testimony of the sudden realisation that this one is not going to
be easy.
Fringe players Mark Randall and Gavin Hoyte were slammed by Liam Brady after their awful
showing against Welling United, Gooner Talk can reveal.
The attitude of some of the country's most privileged and highest paid youngsters was brought
into question as the likes of Nacer Barazite and Jay Simpson were thumped 4-1 by
Blue Square South side Welling.
Transfer rumors of Inter Milan defender Maicon joining Jose Mourinho in Real Madrid this season
have been swirling throughout the news.
Maicon's agent Antonio Caliendo met with Real Madrid last night and left their pow wow angry due
to Real Madrid's attitude.
Currently, Maicon's demands of €7 million per year are holding up the two parties agreeing on
a new deal.
There are a number of words which are often used to describe teenagers with mohawks, and
maturity is not typically one of them. Luckily, Neymar is doing his best to break down those
barriers within the mohawked world, fighting for his landing strip haircut just as Valery Gazzaev
fights for the right of the mustache.
Depite frosty relations between Indonesia and Malaysia Persisam are going to give a trial to
Malaysian striker Stanley Bernard who played for Persibo Bojonegoro in an East Java League game the
other day.
Previously he was with My Team and, according to Wikipedia, in India with Sporting Clube de Goa.
We dominated the Norwegians for 80 minutes of the game, but unfortunately it was Norway that
scored a goal. The players displayed an extraordinary attitude and gave all they had to give
showing us we can rely on them for the future! [read more]

Arsene Wenger has accepted a charge of improper conduct and an £8,000 fine by the FA following
his tap on Martin Atkinson's back at the end of the Premier League match with Sunderland on
Saturday...
Wenger will serve a one-match touchline ban during the League Cup third-round clash at rivals
Tottenham (he could have deferred the ban, I believe), which although it's a derby tells you all
you need to know about his continued dismissive attitude to the competition.
After another fantastic display for Chelsea and yet another calm, composed and class finish against
Spartak last night, Carlo Ancelotti has heaped praise on Nicolas Anelka. He said:
"Anelka was the key to opening the game, He scored a fantastic goal - the most
important this evening.

Manchester United have just wrapped up a deal for Stabaek midfielder Mats Moller
Daehli.
The 15-year-old Norwegian recently starred in an international tournament against the
heavyweights of France, Spain and Holland, after which a number of clubs started to take an
interest in him.
It is one thing for Craig Moore to throw his weight and reputation around. Telling the club that
has been representing the fans that have been paying his wages that it is 'him (Ange) or me'.
It is quite another for the Roar to tell the world that this has been said to them 'At least
twice.'
Did they think how this would sound to fans and potential fans?
Mornin all, it's been a while. I've really just been enjoying the season lately, and didn't feel
the need to write about how splendidly it's been going for us so far (Knock on wood.) There is a
news story worth mentioning though, and so here I am to get on with the mention. Sol Campbell has
rejoined Arsenal, and I have to say I'm thrilled to have him back in the fold.
According to Richard Torgerson at Sky Sports News, Bolton boss Owen
Coyle wants to hold onto striker Johan Elmander. Coyle told
Aftonbladet,
"Yes, Elmander is a player I want to keep, his attitude is brilliant .
I might not have been at practice yesterday, but I have a few updates from Wednesday's training

John tearing it up --
Apparently, it hasn't taken trialist Collins John long to get acclimated to the Fire.

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has sung the praises of Park Ji-Sung.
Park scored the opening goal in what Wenger called "the most disappointing night" of his career,
when United thrashed Arsenal at the Emirates in the Champions League semi-final last year.
We repeated that thrashing this season at the Emirates, with Park on the scoresheet again.
Albert Riera's Liverpool career could be over within weeks after he was suspended by the club
following his astonishing verbal attack on Rafa Benitez.
The Reds winger has been told to stay away from Melwood until Monday after giving an interview to
Spanish radio station Marca, in which he criticised Benitez's preferred style of play and the lack
of chances he has been afforded this season.
When Arsene Wenger brought Sol Campbell back to Arsenal I actually felt for him.
For years many people, including lots of Gooners, said that Wenger needed to bring experience to
this Arsenal squad.
Well you won't find many players more experienced than Sol Campbell will you?
Despite Campbells wealth of knowledge the move was probably criticised more than it was acclaimed.
Morning all, another weekend has flown by and now we have another free week before our next game
against Birmingham. All things going well this will be a rare occurrence between now and the end of
the season.
Results yesterday were mixed. The Mugsmashers started well against United but just didn't have
enough to take a point.
I just received the following reference from the coach of a potential recruit for my college
team. I don't know about you, but the way he describes this player gives me goosebumps!
"He is very much like Brendan, a stalwart in defense, probably better skill on the ball than
Brendan, not quite as big, but very tough and physical, takes smart angles, learns his lessons
quickly, knows his strengths and plays to them.
Blackburn 2 Arsenal 1
1) Going out to play with nothing to play for is difficult. If Arsenal had won, say, 2-0 it would
have been remarked it was a dead game. It's interesting to note that both in the newspapers and the
blogs, a post-mortem is taking place in spite of this. Short of winning 6-0, Arsenal were always
going to be criticised for at best, the fact yesterday's game meant nothing, and at worst, for
failing to get a positive result.
