The best photo from a blurry batch of cell-phone pictures. I'm glad to say that I was lucky enough
to be able to go to Empire Field's last Vancouver Whitecaps game against the Seattle Sounders. When
I go see matches live, I'm usually too engrossed in the action and swept up by the atmosphere to be
able to properly focus on what I'm going to write later in the match report.
Happy Friday to you! With national team thoughts, Real Salt Lake/Philadelphia coming up and the
transfer window, here's whats on my mind for this Friday.
Jurgen Klinsmann and the National Team: Klinsmann is certainly making waves in the media
despite only being in charge only a month.

KC set a new attendance high for a game at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park tonight in their 2-2 draw with
the LA Galaxy, pulling in 20,512, topping the old record set in the US Gold Cup game earlier this
year by about 400. For a look at the attendance after 12 games check here.
Not much this week in terms of stats, some big ones coming up though. Here are the few from this
week.
The 20,512 in attendance was the highest crowd at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park for any competition,
topping the Gold Cup game in KC earlier this year.
KC scored their 40th league goal of the season last night, that's the first time that KC has scored
40 goals in a season since 2007.

Another home defeat for Bolton Wanderers — is the season over already for The
Trotters?

The home stand is over, and it looked like the run had finally gotten to a lot of people, as the
team had their lowest attendance of the season, 14,791 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park yesterday for
the game. Still, the 2011 season leads the way in attendance.
The video says pretty much everything one needs to know about the
situation and I don't want to say too much about it myself. The following is a short write up with
some pictures of the tribute to 9/11 victims and America that the Sons of Ben, and other
Philadelphia Union fans, did during the game against he Portland Timbers last night.
Don't panic! City's super strikeforce will come good in Europe
Perhaps the most surprising thing about the reduced attendance at Eastlands last night, was that
people weren't desperate to see this City side. Ignoring the team on the pitch for a second, the
list of players in reserve would be enough to get the fans of most Premier League teams
excited.
Dallas 1 - Tauro 1 FC Dallas got things started the right way, with Daniel Cruz scoring right after
the game started. Though Tauro pressed for stretches in the first-half, they would get on the board
from a 41st minute penalty. That was it for the goals, with the point keeping Dallas at the top of
Group C.
With tickets being sold at just £25 for adults and £5 for kids, Manchester City failed to sell
out their first ever Champions League game last night.
The opposition were no minnows either, with Napoli finishing 3rd in Serie A last season and
boasting the talent of Edinson Cavani, who was last season's 2nd highest scorer.

The build up to tomorrow's game against Blackburn is as low-key as I can remember for Arsenal in
recent times.
Usually, in the immediate aftermath of a press conference, from which many Tweets are sent by
those in attendance, there are a host of stories scrambling to the top of the various news
feeds.
Someone didn't tell Atlanta they were supposed to lose to the Strikers Saturday night in Fort
Lauderdale. The team sitting 8th in the standings gave the Strikers all they could handle. The fans
in attendance, announced at 4688, saw a flurry of goals in the dying moments. With the match
destined to end 0 – [.
Big weekend in Major League Soccer as teams are jockeying for playoff position in the last few
weeks of the season. Whatever the downsides of the over inclusive MLS playoff setup, the 10
team system does keep more teams in the hunt until the end of the season. The possibility of
playoffs keeps an informed fan base interested (there is certainly an argument that a fair number
of MLS in stadium attendees have limited knowledge of the home team's place in the stadiums) and
coming to games.
Of all the topics upon which MLS fans love to bicker, nothing can touch the Playoffs. Some of us
hate the dependence on conferences, some of us hate the amount of clubs that are admitted in, and
some of us hate them all together. Me? I like the idea of a playoff, and I think the current model
is okay, but just okay.
Underfire Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger fumed at suggestion that his future at the Emirates is in
serious doubt after he was given an ominous vote of confidence from club chief executive Ivan
Gazidis. Frustrated Arsenal fans also voted with their feet as just 46,539 turned up to watch the
Gunners' 3-1 Carling Cup Third Round [.
Game notes later - atmosphere at BMO first...The weather helped to set the scene last night at BMO
Field, it was a perfect Toronto in September evening. The wind never picked up off of the lake, the
sky was clear and the temperature was somewhere between balmy and cool. As the sun was setting, I
had made sure to pack a hoodie and a fleece vest, yet they were never needed.

With just 2 home game left in the season, Sporting KC has set a record for average attendance. No
one could show up for the team's final two matches against Columbus and New York, and KC would
still set an attendance record this season. KC's average if no one shows up the final two games of
the season would be 15,589, topping the 15,573 that was set in the 2003 season.

Bolton Wanderers fail to make a good impression at The Emirates.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted that disappointing results as well as the financial crisis
are two reasons why the Emirates Stadium is not enjoying a full attendance. Speaking after the 3-0

Another game in the books, another decent night of attendance at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, 17,838.
The 2011 season extends it's lead, and with the finale against New York already nearly a sell out,
KC is very likely to pass the 18,000 attendance mark for this season.
