The revised fixture list for gameweek 22 has been posted to the Fantasy Premier League website, and
there are double gameweeks a plenty. Liverpool, Tottenham, Bolton and Arsenal have now joined
Manchester United and Hull City with two games in this round. Potentially this could be the biggest
points round of the season.
Gameweek 22 sees a double gameweek for Manchester United and Hull as their match was moved due to
Cup commitments. That means this weeks fixtures are, on paper, a dream for Manchester United: home
to both Burnley and Hull.
Whilst on first glance it may appear to be worth loading up on Man Utd players, be wary of getting
caught short for the following gameweek.
It wasn't so long ago that Kevin Payne railed on about the likes of Colorado and New England making
MLS unwatchable by playing a disruptive, counterattacking style that went against everything that
Payne claimed that was good about United. So how's that picture look less than a year on? You want
a mirror, Kevin?
Common perception has it that the Champions League knockout stages represent the highest standards
anywhere to be found in the game. The crème de la crème of world football. Where the best
players, meanest defenders and most skilful attackers ply their trade and where the margin for
error is at it's thinnest.
The unlucky bounces, close calls, and heartbreakers have eased up on the Islanders for the
time-being the Islanders have enjoyed a few weeks in the sun. After posting 1 win in their first 11
season games, the Islanders have won their last 3 USL-2 contests over Charlotte once and Real
Maryland twice.
Football can be a funny ol' game. You can (in your mind) be playing the best football on the
planet, and then along comes a team shorn of their best attackers (transfered away) and defenders
(ban / injury), a team that everyone has derided as going downhill, and then you're taught a
footballing lesson to rival.
Bayern Munich will take a slender lead to Florence after a controversial 2-1 win over
Fiorentina in a hotly contested match which featured a number of odd decisions by the refereeing
crew. Fiorentina's Coach Cesare Prandelli was aggravated while club skipper Riccardo Montolivo
could not believe his eyes and admitted the players are disheartened.

In 2009, the Los Angles Galaxy were a penalty kick shootout away from winning the third MLS Cup
in the club's history. With a new season looming, the Galaxy will be looking to begin the road back
to the final.
The Western Conference Champions trained on Friday morning before heading to Arizona on Friday
afternoon for a training camp that includes matches against the Columbus Crew, Kansas City Wizards
and the Colorado Rapids.

Chivas USA may have brought a different team and a new outlook to this year's clásico, but the
result was still the same, a Galaxy victory.
I knew I'd enjoy Diego Maradona's contribution to World Cup 2010, but I thought it would be more
about his crazy antics like running over cameramen, making diva-ish requests and gifting us
brilliant brilliant quotes. I dind't think it would be for his tactics.
Yet that's exactly what happened today, when Maradona fielded easily the most attacking line up
of the World Cup so far, and Argentina beat Nigeria 1-0.
Arsenal players put in good performances at the World Cup today. Van Persie picked up an assist,
Bendtner scored a nice goal and should have had an assist (don't know why he isn't credited with
one) and Song worked hard in midfield and deserved more from the game.
The day started with Holland taking on Japan.
If you didn't know EA Sports' FIFA 11 hit stores yesterday in North America. So what does the
virtual D.C. United look like?
For starters D.C. United is a two star team, the maximum being five(teams like Manchester
United, Spain, etc) and the lowest behind a half star. Fear not, D.C. is not the only two star team
in MLS according to EA Sports with Houston, Kansas City, New England, Philly, Colorado, Chivas, and
Toronto.
It felt like a horrific re-imagining of the European match last season, but this game was very
different despite what sly sports commentators made out. If you look at the game on paper we had 18
attempts to their 11 (source: BBC website), we were just not clinical enough when it came to
finishing and Arshavin had one of his worst games since joining.
"You've won fuck all for five years!""Arsenal, wankers! Wank Wank Wank!""Same old Arsenal, always
cheating!""Are you Tottenham in disguise?!""There's only one team in London!"Just a few of the
chants I endured sitting amongst the Chelsea faithful in the Shed End yesterday. I thought I'd be
in the away section with the Arsenal supporters but I was not about to complain; I had a ticket, I
was in the ground, and I was seeing world-class football in the flesh.
Speechless. Roy Hodgson has guided us to many stupendous results, but this was on another
level altogether. Never have we had to deal with an onslaught like that.
It started very well. We nearly went ahead in 30 seconds, and did go ahead in 2 minutes,
Zoltan Gera driving home from the inside left channel.
From the Seattle Times we learn that camp has cut way down. There were some extra keepers
around, and one of them is still under contract (Eylander), and Jeff Parke doesn't have an contract
yet either, but there are 22 Senior Roster slots occupied if you count both of them, with up to 3
guys that could wind up on the Injured List (Eylander, Graham and maybe even Jaqua who just
returned to the pitch).
Brazilian clearly wants Old Trafford move.

BRAZIL star Luis Fabiano has issued a remarkable plea to Manchester United to sign him
this summer.
With Sir Alex Ferguson in the market for a striker, £15million-rated Fabiano claims he would not
fail to deliver goals for United because of the service he would receive at Old
Trafford.
At this point in the season, it's cliched to say that the only thing consistent about the
Philadelphia Union is inconsistency. Every game somebody seems to take a step forward while
somebody else takes a step back. The only exception to this rule is Chris Seitz, who has been
consistently horrid.
Taking on Real Salt Lake in the last leg of a long road trip, the Union needed big contributions
from their veterans and big energy from their youth contingent.

Lyon attackers Lisandro Lopez and Miralem Pjani? have a fan in Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger who
reportedly may consider making a move for the pair this summer.
Tomorrow the US looks to at least equal their 2002 World Cup finish by advancing to the quarter
finals. Already the US has done more than was expected by finishing at the top of Group C. By
winning the group, the US does avoid a rematch of the 2002 quarterfinal against Germany, but
instead will be facing Ghana who beat the US at the last World Cup.
Dunga has quit as Brazil's manager. After a reign of four years the Brazilian public finally
have what they want. Dunga has, according to the majority of Brazilian fans, stopped the national
team playing in the way the country wants them to. The fans wanted to see Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and
Ronaldo attacking in tandem, not Kaka, Robinho and Luis Fabiano defending from the front.
The Castrol Index Rankings people say that he was, with Spain right back Ramos finishing top of
the overall rankings table at the end of the World Cup, with a rating of 9.79. Fellow Spain
defenders Joan Capdevila and Carles Puyol finished second and third respectively.
I'm not 100% sure how the Castrol rankings work, but the introduction on the FIFA sub-site
promises that:
"Using objective analysis and highly advanced technology, every pass, tackle and move on the
field is measured and assessed to see if it has a positive or negative impact on a team's ability
to score or concede a goal.
The huge gulf in class between the two teams was eventually exposed as Arsenal won the game
convincingly, albeit with a few hiccups along the way. For a while it looked much closer than it
should have been, mainly due to the endeavour of the hosts, good goalkeeping, and profligacy of the
Arsenal attackers.

The playoffs are on the horizon and there are numerous questions surrounding the league-leading
Los Angeles Galaxy.
After a disappointing loss to the New York Red Bulls last week, the Galaxy will be expecting to
rebound against their arch-rivals Chivas USA in the SuperClasico on Sunday evening.
I enjoyed writing the Board Game reviews so I thought I'd divert my attention to some computer
games. Therefore with the recent release of FIFA 2011 for the Playwotsit, or is it the XWotsit? I
thought I'd take a look at some of the other games available on the market, starting with this
absolute beauty of a title.
Jose Mourinho is one of football's most traveled coaches and the Portugal man has managed in
several different countries and several different cultures over the year. Regardless of where on
the map the Real Madrid coach has been though, he has won and he has won quite often.
Mourinho is currently feeling the heat of the Spanish media and the man referred to as the
Special One has struggled to see his side score tons of goals during their debut stretch of games
this season.
I guess this was as easy a game as Arsenal will play all season. If it had been a non-Arsenal
game I'd have stopped watching after 10 minutes or so. But because it was Arsenal I had to struggle
through a shaky and hazy stream at the risk of enduring a headache later, which is now and I have a
bad one.
The snood epidemic has gotten more billing than any foreign export in the Premier League since,
well, the last one. But it will have no place at Manchester United, where Sir Alex Ferguson has
laid down the law and firmly declared Old Trafford a snood-less football club. Because "real men
don't wear things like that".
I'm getting a lot of questions about the offside trap lately, so I thought I'd write a primer.
It has to be useful to someone, right?
The Offside Rule
The offside rule attempts to prevent soccer from descending into a game of long punts towards
crowds of players milling bout the goal, as is essentially equivalent to American Football's strict
rules on the forward pass.

On a rare chilly morning in Carson, California. the members of the United States Men's National
team endured their longest training session to date. As the camp enters its second week, it is
clear that the intensity level has been raised in preparation for the January 23rd friendly against
Honduras at the Home Depot Center.
Well, all I can say is we were lucky. PAO had a few incredible chances to score a few goals but
were either stopped by the post or Arabatzis. But, they never should have won in the first round
against us so it's all good
We started without Makos which was great news. Our starting XI was Arabatzis, Araujo,
Majstorovic, Geraldo, Karabelas, Manduca, Kafes, Jahic, Blanco, Scocco, and Djebbour.
- What a couple of days it's been for oddly scored goals.
Paul Scholes entered into the fluke goal history books Tuesday night as Manchester United beat
AC Milan in the Champions League round of 16 with a 3-2 away win that made a quarter final birth
just a bit more attainable.
Proponents of the notion that the Premier League is the best in the world – an oft repeated
mantra – might want to shut up for once and take a look at the Champions League this year. For
the past few years, English clubs have dominated the latter stages, now they're down to two
already.
Look at Nani and Anderson in the background, now that's passion
This preview is
going to be very quick. Lots going on here but at least I managed to squeeze in a fantasy footie
related interview this week over at 11kicksblog.com, so check it out if you so desire. I'll pop
back into the comments section tomorrow to add some more insight and answer questions, and I'll be
on Twitter too over the next few days, but let's get right to the action.
Arsenal 2 Barcelona 2
It was all about scoring the third goal of the game.
Because aside from Porto, all our big games this season had hinged on the third goal, one way or
the other. Away to United and City, at 1-1 it was anybody's game. Much the same can be said of our
trip to Anfield.
Head coach of the Rochester Thunder Neil Cassidy thinks this years team is improved from the
defenders on the back line to the attackers on the front line. "From front to back I think we have
a lot better caliber player," said Cassidy from Rochester, Minnesota as he prepared his players for
their home opener this Sunday, May 23 at 3:00 pm.
... As tempted as I was to write about the US-Slovenia match in the moments after it finished, I
decided it would be better to wait until now and the regular nightly World Cup recap. Anything I
wrote in the wake of the conclusion to that match would have been unprofessional, too emotionally
driven to make sense, and wouldn't have had the quality required to post here.

Manchester United are rumoured to be interested in Spanish winger Jesus Navas and may be tempted
to make a move for the wide man this summer.
If the US wins their game tomorrow they advance to the next round. There are a lot of other
scenarios that involve ties that could also send the US on, but in the simplest form: we win we're
in. However, the results of the four group games so far have left the group wide open for all four
of the teams to advance including tomorrow's opponents Algeria who can advance with a win as
well.
The World Cup only shows up every four years, but at least it leaves with enough drama to fill
the gap in between.
One of those on the docket will be France's complete and utter collapse, with opinions raining
in from all corners. Lillian Thuram is one of those opinions, and as France's most capped player in
history and one of the sport's more respected athletes off the pitch, you listen.
