It's was a great atmosphere here at the legendary baseball stadium, hosting football for the first time in over 40 years. "Sweet Caroline" is sung during the 7th inning stretch in all home games for the Red Sox at Fenway Park, so I guess you could say that halftime is appropriate for it as well.

When I was a lad I went down to Maine Road a couple of times with a few lads to watch the football. If one of my blue mates had a ticket going spare and I had nothing better to do, then I'd go along. I only saw a handful of games but it was interesting enough going to someone else's ground.

There are always hiccups in the process, and the odd scare thrown out by the media in order to sell a few papers, but in terms of building the stadiums, promoting the tournament and creating an exciting atmosphere, South Africa has done itself proud and with one week to go, we are ready for the World Cup.
