Brasileiro: Flamengo and Atletico-MG Want it!

Up until last week, the Brasileirao seemed the tournament no one wanted to win. The favorites kept losing points with pale football. But the 30th round shows signs of change by two sides. Flamengo and Atletico-MG want to take the title home after a long time.

While Palmeiras, Sao Paulo, Inter and Goias gave another display of loss of steam, the two sides pocketed the three points in very important matches.

The collector of Santos (click here to see pictures) has about 170 jerseys 155 used by the players.

Video: Another 2 Brazilian Clubs Advance in the Sudamericana

After the 0-0 in the first-leg, Botafogo received Atletico-PR at home. After 10 matches, Bota won for the first time. Uesley scored forst for Atletico-PR, and in the final moments of first-half, Lucio Flavio tied from the spot. In the second-half, Gabriel scored the second for the home team.

Inter took on Atletico-MG last night, a match from the 11th round that had been postponed. After a good first-half of the visitors, a trio took Inter to the victory. Edu, ex-Betis, D'Alessandro and Kleber, ex-Brazil International. Edu scored twice. D'Alessandro scored and handed assists. And Kleber handed even more assists.

Brasileiro: Atletico-MG reaches the Top; Coaches Get Fired

After the 10th round of Campeonato Brasileiro, Atletico-MG returned to the top after the 3-0 victory in the Belo Horizonte derby. Besides the pathetic red card by Cruzeiro's Ze Carlos, the men of the match were veteran Junior and forward Eder Luis - even though in his goal goalie Andrey gave a big help.

Ze Carlos, forward from Cruzeiro, spent less time on the pitch in the Belo Horizonte derby against Atletico Mineiro than you will spend reading this. With 7 seconds into the match, he elbowed midfielder Renan. Ref Paulo Cesar de Oliveira saw it, and with 15 seconds the red card was up in the air.

Humiliation in Dejavu

In 2008, Cruzeiro humiliated its rival Atletico-MG in the first leg of Minas Gerais state championship with a sound 5 - 0. Up to that point, it was the biggest score in the history of the Belo Horizonte derby.

That triggered changes and Alexandre Khalil rose to the presidency of Atletico promising never to be humiliated again.
