Sergio Aguero inherited the mantle of star striker at Atletico Madrid from Fernando Torres and
on Tuesday night he showed exactly why, scoring two excellent goals in a 2-2 draw against Chelsea
in the Champions League.
Aguero has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in the last 18 months, and there
were claims by Atletico Madrid this summer that they rejected a £42m bid for the Argentina
international.

Champions League View: Bayern Munich and Liverpool FC could get 10 points and still not
qualify.
An entertaining set of Champions League games threw up some unexpected results, great games and
the odd ninja (but not a very effective one). Almost all of the big names have a chance to reach
the knockout stages, even though the likes of Bayern and Liverpool have made it very, very
difficult for themselves.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal starlet Fran Merida might
possibly move on to Atletico Madrid after the season. Merida's contract ends at
the end of the season and he's yet to accept an offer made by Arsenal. His agent Joseba
Diaz said,
"We only have an offer from Arsenal but Fran Merida has an illness, for want of a better word,
and that is Atletico Madrid and you can't do anything about that.

Last week after the fantastic win in the Carling Cup, Fran Merida told afc.com that he wanted to
stay at Arsenal and that he hoped his contract would be sorted out very soon. Sadly for Fran, his
agent Joseba Diaz hasn't seen the interview or possibly not even bothered to speak to Merida. Diaz
has said he has an illness, well a love for Atletico Madrid which all started when he slept on red
and white sheets when he was young!

Tonight Chelsea travel to Madrid for the reverse fixture in our Champions League group stage
against Atletico Madrid. In our first game we totally outplayed Madrid and kept Forlan and Aguero

AC Milan's 3-2 win in Madrid on Matchday 3 lifted them to the top of Group C and a repeat
success on home soil would take them a step closer to the first knockout round. The Matchday 3
win was a big morale boost for Milan while Madrid slumped. Madrid put a three-game winless run

FC Porto will look to lock up second place in Group D with a win against Nicosia. The 2-1
