The Dynamo have added another forward/midfielder to the roster, trading a conditional draft pick
to the Colorado Rapids for Macoumba Kandji. Kandji is a tall, atheltic forward with good quickness,
but he's had his injury struggles the last couple seasons.
It's an inexpensive move for Kinnear to make and makes good sense as Kandji has experience in
the league and has shown the ability to score goals and create chances for teammates in the
past.

30th 2012 the league issued a statement to suspend the 2012 season citing the pending legal issues
with former magicJack team owner Dan Borislow.

upcoming season, while the expansion San Antonio Scorpions signed veteran Mexican Primera Division

Former Carolina RailHawks coach Martin Rennie will return to the scene of his Carolina successes
over the last three seasons on Sunday March 4th. But on this occasion he will be coaching the
opposing side, the Vancouver Whitecaps of MLS, when they meet the RailHawks in the opener of
Carolina's preseason.
The NASL Atlanta Silverbacks announced the appointment of Alex Pineda Chacon to replace Jose Manuel
Abundis, who coached the team in the 2011 season. After a two year hiatus from fielding a team,
the Silverbacks were a disappointment in Abundis' first head coaching opportunity, finishing last
in the NASL with a 4-20-4 record.
After a long hiatus (for a number of reasons), here are the final (in most cases) attendance
figures for the primary men's and women's outdoor soccer leagues in North America for 2011. As
always, corrections and additions are welcome.

and fans are in for something special come Saturday. Florida will be the host for both
quarterfinals as #6 Minnesota travels to #3 Tampa Bay and #4 Fort Lauderdale plays host to #5

Minnesota nearly bungled their way out the playoffs with a near-epic collapse towards the end of
the season but the Stars came up with a win when it counted, beating the Carolina Railhawks, 2-1,
to book a place in the postseason.
Things aren't so bright for Carolina.
The NSC Minnesota Stars waited until the last game of the season, but they made their way into the
NASL playoffs next week with a 2-1 in Cary over the now struggling Carolina RailHawks. The
Montreal Impact, in their last season in D2, did everything they could Saturday night by beating
the Atlanta Silverbacks on [.
The NSC Minnesota Stars were able to hang on to a 2-1 lead they took in the 52nd minute against
the Carolina RailHawks in Cary, North Carolina on Saturday evening. In doing so the team clinched
the 6th and final NASL playoff spot. Making it more dramatic, the Montreal Impact had defeated the
Atlanta Silverbacks [.

After a grueling season spanning nearly six months and consisting of 27 games,
it all comes down to the final weekend in the inaugural season of the NASL.
The NSC Minnesota Stars and the Montreal Impact enter the weekend in a fight for the final
playoff spot, while FC Tampa Bay and the Fort Lauderdale Strikers jockey for third place.
The Strikers could have wrapped up the game versus the Atlanta Silverbacks in the first 45 minutes
of their game this past Saturday at Lockhart stadium. They had a myriad of shots and chances, yet
their lousy aim thwarted each effort. The second half was a whole different story as Atlanta nearly
beat the Strikers with a 90th minute goal.

I was recently in Florida and went to see my first American football match, from the North American
Soccer League, one of the final league matches before the play-off, between the local side, Ft.
Lauderdale Strikers and the Atlanta Silverbacks. It was a horrible match until the last few minutes
when Atlanta underservedly went ahead, but the Strikers managed a late equalizer.

The penultimate weekend in the NASL offered little in the way of high-scoring contests but
instead set up a thrilling final weekend for the Montreal Impact and the NSC Minnesota Stars.
The NSC Minnesota Stars conceded a second-half goal to draw 1-1 with FC Tampa Bay but the vital
point keeps them narrowly ahead of the Montreal Impact for sixth place.
Someone didn't tell Atlanta they were supposed to lose to the Strikers Saturday night in Fort
Lauderdale. The team sitting 8th in the standings gave the Strikers all they could handle. The fans
in attendance, announced at 4688, saw a flurry of goals in the dying moments. With the match
destined to end 0 – [.

It's the last regular home game of the season for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. They've already
clinched the playoffs but could secure a home playoff game and possibly 3rd place in the next 2
games. If the Strikers win this Saturday they secure the home game. But the following Saturday the
last game of the season will be against rival Tampa.

With only two weeks to go in the NASL regular season, the postseason picture is pretty much set.
Five of the six teams headed to the playoffs have already clinched their spot while Carolina and
Puerto Rico have wrapped up byes to the semifinals.
That precious final spot will be contested down the stretch by the NSC Minnesota Stars, who have
imploded during August and September, and the Montreal Impact, who have turned their form around
after an atrocious opening half of the season.

The Carolina Railhawks have absolutely nothing to play for and it showed with a toothless 1-0
loss to the Montreal Impact, a team with everything to play for.
The NSC Minnesota Stars managed to keep distance between themselves and seventh-placed Montreal
with a 2-0 victory over the Atlanta Silverbacks.
Only two more weeks of play remain in the NASL. This weekend, the Montreal Impact dropped the
first place Carolina RailHawks 1-0 on Sunday afternoon, but couldn't gain ground for the last
playoff spot on NSC Minnesota, as the Stars shut out the Atlanta Silverbacks 2-0 Saturday evening
in Blaine. On Sunday evening, the Fort [.
Early in the season the NSC Stars gained a reputation of being a difficult team to play against at
home. The Minnesota league-owned team with one of the lower player budgets in the league would put
in yeoman's work and fight for results. However, that work effort and ability to keep games close
at home [.

The Carolina Railhawks have been, without question, the most dominant team in the inaugural NASL
season, but they had to wait until Wednesday to make it official.
The Railhawks wrapped up the regular-season title despite a 1-0 loss to the Fort Lauderdale
Strikers.
