Bilbao defender uses kung fu on Messi

Bad news for Barca.They were held to a 1 - 1 draw by Athletic Bilbao.Messi received this kung fu kick in the face early on in the game. He was back on his feet in a while but not for long.He was substituted in the 75th minute with a suspected muscle tear in the thigh.

Morning Ticker: Henry backs calls for replay, Beckham battles ankle injury and more

Thierry Henry has backed calls for a replay of the Ireland-Italy World Cup playoff he helped decide with his now infamous handball, even though FIFA has already rejected a request for a replay.

"Naturally I feel embarrassed at the way that we won and feel extremely sorry for the Irish who definitely deserve to be in South Africa," said Henry.

Ibrahimovic out with hamstring injury

Benfica win and Nacional draw in Europa League

Benfica and Nacional were in action today along with Sporting in the Europa League. Benfica scored two goals in the second half to defeat Everton on the road 2-0 on goals by Javier Saviola and Oscar Cardozo.
