Italian league action resumed yesterday after a short break with a couple of interesting
results. Inter Milan began the year with a resounding 5-0 hammering of Parma at the San Siro while
high flyers Lazio were thrashed 4-0 by Siena.
In what he termed as his best display ever with the club, a visibly happy Claudio Ranieri
praised his side for their 5 star performance.
Host Kevin is joined by Serie A Weekly writers Owen Neilson and Ryan Ross to discuss all the
surprises and events from the first half of the Italian Serie A 2011-12 season. Podcast topics
include, Juventus, Milan and Inter, players like Jovetic, Klose, Djibril Cissé and Simone

None of the top five won at the weekend which meant Roma's impressive home win over Inter was all
the more sweeter as they are moved to joint sixth with Napoli and just five points behind Inter
with a game in hand. AC Milan were unable to overcome a plucky Napoli side in a match where Zlatan
Ibrahimovic disgraced himself by earning a red card for fighting.
Ezequiel Schelotto is a 22-year-old Argentine-born winger for Atalanta. Mariana Diarco is a
model, also from Argentina, whose Google Images results reveal her severe clothing allergy. While

With the New Year come new expectations. Currently in joint first place with Juventus, Milan will
be expected to strengthen their position at the top of the Serie A though doing so in January may
prove tricky. Max Allegri's men first face Atalanta in a regional derby before the Milan derby with
Inter and ties [.
We weren't going to do a ranking this week because nothing relevant to the rankings has taken place
outside of Great Britain since before Christmas. Still, there were lots of changes the week before,
particularly in Italy and France. And, plus, you deserve it.
So once we decided we that you deserved a ranking this week, we had to sober up in order to write
it up.

this past weekend. Cagliari and Bologna upset higher-ranked opposition, Inter's revival continued
with a 5-0 hammering of Parma and Milan cruised through surprise package Atalanta, but nothing

the season on Saturday night. Atalanta have proven to be tough opposition for any team, especially
at home where their only defeat prior was to champions Milan. But, the Bianconeri overcame early

Lecce managed the shock of the round by stunning Inter Milan 1-0, the defeat bringing to an end the
Nerazzurri's six-game winning. Juventus kept their undefeated record intact by defeating highflying
Udinese by two goals to nil in very wet conditions in Turin on Saturday. Alessandro Matri was the
hero on the night as he claimed both strikes.
Inter and Palermo shared eight goals in a 4-4 thriller where Diego Milito netted all four for Inter
at the San Siro. Roma's defence needs to be looked at as they were humiliated away at Cagliari.
Lazio overcame AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico and the weather managed to play its part as four
games were called off due to the big freeze.

A 12-year old girl from Crotone in Italy has been woken from a 15-day coma by the soothing voice
of her idol, one Alessandro Del Piero. That's a sentence that doesn't tend to get used very
often.
Jade fell ill and reportedly slipped into a coma while watching the goals from Juventus' 2-0 win
over Atalanta on January 22nd.
