You don't look cool, Wayne, but you are a hell of a footballer
After a great
mid-week of Champions League action, we are back to our bread and butter this weekend - the Premier
League. Hope you guys took our advice last week and captained N'Zogbia and to those of you who were
brave enough (or crazy enough) to include Landon Donovan in your teams despite his tough match
against Chelsea as we did - congrats on the assist and Donovan's 2 bonus points.
As the Chelsea versus Manchester United game approaches, the office banter reminds me how many
fans come out of the woodwork around the time of the big matches regardless of the team they
follow.
For many fans defeat will be more painful on the Monday, than on the Saturday
Beating a rival or top club is about more than league position to most, whenever two teams that
have support in the office clash the build up is always intense and highly amusing.

Just what Big Sam's dodgy ticker needed a ten-goal nerve shredder.
Who saw this coming though? I thought it might be 0-0 or 1-0 to Villa, but it was one of those
rare matches where the players become so engrossed in the match that they play without any
inhibition.
"Are you Norwich in disguise?" is how we were greeted by cheerful Aston Villa fans as we walked
towards the ground. Their excitement was infectious, all clad in their 'Carling Cup 2010′
embroidered shirts and dopey grins on their faces. It was great to be at Wembley and I of course
wanted to see us leave with the trophy, but I did feel a bit of a fraud in knowing I was nowhere
near as excited as their lot.

Birmingham City captain Stephen Carr is facing a police probe over alleged
gestures made to the Aston Villa fans following Sunday's derby clash at Villa Park.
Carr made the alleged gestures to the home crowd as he left the pitch understandably infuriated
by the decision to award Aston Villa a controversial last-minute penalty which was duly dispatched
by James Milner to snatch the late win for his side.
St Andrews' full back could be in trouble for Villa Park gesture.

Police are investigating allegations Birmingham City defender Stephen Carr made an
offensive gesture towards Aston Villa fans.
Aston Villa is the latest club being linked with Dutch striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar. This time
the rumors are coming from Footy Latest, who claim that the AC Milan striker could be used
as a cushion to soften the potential departure of Villa midfielder James Milner.
Milner continues to be linked with a move to Manchester City, and the funds from his transfer
could be used towards bringing Huntelaar to Villa Park.
Aston Villa fans are already getting ready to say goodbye to midfielder James Milner after
Martin O'Neill's comments on Friday night. The Villa boss confirmed that there is finally some
activity going on behind the scenes between the club and Manchester City, who have been linked with
Milner all summer.
Martin O'Neill has just sensationally left his post as manager of Aston Villa just days before
the start of the new season. O'Neill is apparently unhappy with the boards transfer budget and of
the potential sale of star player James Milner to Manchester City.
Kevin MacDonald, the reserve team manager, has now taken charge of the first team on a temporary
basis.
Albrighton was a name that didn't ring any bells for a lot of people when they heard the
commentator utter his name during the Aston Villa v. West ham game on Saturday. It seemed the
fleet-footed winger had snuck under the radar. However, he hadn't gone unnoticed by conscientious
Aston Villa fans, contrary to the story published in the Daily Mail today.
Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the past 12 months or so you'll know that
Manchester City are the new big boys in town. They're the only club that have been throwing cash
around like it's going out of fashion in a generally quite disappointing transfer window (so
far)...
City's biggest signings of the summer include David Silva, Yaya Toure and more recently Mario
Balotelli.
Though no official announcement has been made, the English media has been buzzing for the past
48 hours (or maybe 72) about the possible return of Gerrard Houllier to the EPL. Houllier, who
was touted as a possible successor to Martin O'Neil at Aston Villa, is rumored to be part of a
three-person team Aston Villa is recruiting to oversee and replace O'Neil and his team.

Good news for Aston Villa fans: Marc Albrighton has signed a new
three-and-a-half year contract, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2014.
Villa boss Gerard Houllier said: "The contract with Marc is until 2014.
