Thanks to our friends at Dirty Tackle for bringing our attention to this, the
mother of all brawls. The Spanish commentary and the seemingly expert analysis or every little
incident that in culmination makes this the greatest football brawl of all time..ever!

While the summer months toil away and the transfer rumors get even more boring (or exciting if
you're a Football Manager fan), football fans around the world start to get excited for their
club's upcoming season. Will your club succeed? Will they fail? Will your star player remain
healthy? Who will Joey Barton hit next?
ESPN will carry 48 live matches from the English Premier League on Saturday and Monday in the
United States, the cable network announced Friday night. It was the eve of the 2009-10 E.P.L.
season.
The network announced this schedule (all games on ESPN2):

Let's imagine this situation for a second. Your a 17 year old kid from Italy, playing for the most
famous soccer team in the world. You get inserted into a game with your team down, and wind up
scoring a remarkable goal to give your team the victory. Only in a dream right? As many of you know,
that's exactly what happened last week when Federico Macheda scored for Manchester United against
Aston
My Twitter evolution is gradual and slow. While most people manage to grab hundreds of followers by
following random morons and being awesome people I've probably been way too cautions. I first
followed the blogs I liked, and then when I felt like blogs were just a big dick contest I tried to
just follow the people who didn't have blogs and just followed me because they probably liked my
blog.
If you tuned in to last Sunday's Premiership Talk Podcast, you would have heard me discuss the
"Right Result table." What is this mythical table, and what exactly does it mean? Let me
explain... The guys over at RightResult.net have been "fixing" refereeing errors in the
Premier League for some time now.
I don't know about you, but I am genuinely excited about the rest of the Premier League season.
Unlike other seasons, it's not just the title race that is exciting me. Instead, it's the whole
table. After the closing of the January transfer window, I can't help but take a look at the battle
going on between Aston Villa, Arsenal, and Everton.
United have a mere 48 hours' rest before the Porto match.
The Reds lost 3-1 to Aston Villa on Monday (A: 43,667). Two losses now in three games? That equals
the club's loss total from last season!
Man, how awesome was it to watch a big-time EPL game live on ESPN? Pretty damn awesome, being the
answer. Go check out Cardillo's thoughts on the game, good entertaining stuff as always.

As soon as Emmanuel Adebayor started limping off the field in the 38th minute, it was clear that
the North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham would swing into the favor of the hosts at the
White Hart Lane. The more important implication of Adebayor's injury, however, was obviously much
beyond this afternoon's game.
The Belgium international Steven Defour says he is ready for a transfer abroad, as long as Les
Rouches are willing to sell. Aston Villa transfer target Steven Defour has admitted he would be
open to a move to Villa Park in the summer, but only if current club Standard Liege decide they
want to sell. The Belgium [.
Fabio Capello may have led England to one of its best starts in a World Cup qualification campaign.
However, as the Three Lions' last outing against European Champions Spain suggests, there is still
a lot of learning to do for Mr. Capello before he gets his starting eleven completely right. At
least I feel this way.
Here's an analogy for you to mull over:
An entrepreneur comes up with a product. It can be any product: a website, a toaster, a killer
mutant robot, you name it, but he designs and develops it. He makes it successful. It's him who
brings this product to the attention of the world... and it's a truly great product.

Villans manager Martin O'Neill is thought to be a huge admirer of the Belgium international Steven
Defour. According to a report in the British tabloid The Sun, Premier League club Aston Villa are
considering making an offer for Belgian midfielder Steven Defour this summer. The 20-year-old, who
currently plies his trade for Standard Liege, is highly-rated in [.
Arsenal Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis came out today and said that the Premiership should
consider a salary cap to stabilize itself financially. He didn't come out and say it, but I think
it's pretty clear this has been brought on by Manchester City's profligate transfer fees and wages
since the new ownership group has been in place.
The season is fast approaching, and with preseason friendlies now fully underway squads are
getting ready for the 2009/10 Premier League season. Last season saw Aston Villa comfortable in
fourth place for much of the season before stuttering over the finish line, but Martin O'Neill's
side lead a long list of clubs hoping to crack into the four coveted Champions League spots this
season.
They Think It's All Over... begins its Premier League Preview with a detailed look at Arsenal,
Villa, Birmingham, Blackburn and Bolton.
Their first loss at Anfield in the league in 32 matches was made worse by the fact that they
have already lost as many league games this season as they did in the whole of last term.Benítez
had called on Liverpool to make Anfield a fortress but the fortress is looking a bit weak in the
foundations and it has been breached.
With Manchester United and Aston Villa joining most of the other Premier League clubs in the fourth
round, the FA Cup draw has cooked up some interesting draws. The pick of the bunch is perhaps the
Merseyside derby. Everton will be making the short trip to Anfield in the fourth round to take on
cross-town rivals Liverpool.
Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood is on somebody's radar. No, it's not Martin O'Neill offering to
give him a lot more playing time. It's Stoke City, believe it or not. Harewood's agent, Phil
Sproson, told The Sentinel that, "Stoke are showing an interest in the player, but they will
have to buy because Villa won't loan him.
While Manchester City and Newcastle United have no domestic honors to fight for, both sides
certainly hold the key to getting the Premier League table tighter by the time the 28th round of
fixtures comes to an end this midweek. City may have enjoyed a great run in the UEFA Cup, but their
1-0 defeat to West Ham over the weekend verifies that there is still a lot of work to be done at
the Eastlands if the Sky Blues are to guarantee themselves a spot in the top half of .
Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara does not believe Aston Villa are a top four team. Spurs beat
Villa 2-1 at Villa Park yesterday to dent the home side's hopes of Champions League football next
season. 'Villa had a great start and I think they've maintained that,' said O'Hara. 'They've had a
great season but I wouldn't class them as [.
The table looks like something we're used to now.
It is clear that here at Premiership Talk, we value Premier League football well above any other
version of the beautiful game. Therefore, as the Premier League returns this weekend, one match
that generates tremendous curiosity, in my opinion, is Manchester City's visit to Arsenal.
Considering Arsenal's great form and Manchester City's inconsistency, this game would usually be
classified as a routine challenge for the Gunners.
As soon as the final whistle was blown at the Dragao last night, Manchester United confirmed its
place in one of the two UEFA Champions League semifinals. Who was the opponent? A young
Arsenal side that had already been penciled in as one of the semifinalists, around half an hour
before United, courtesy of an emphatic 3-0 thrashing of Villarreal.
Every little kid dreams of scoring the winning goal for their favorite football club. On Sunday
at Old Trafford, that dream became reality for one kid.
After a Gabriel Agbonlahor goal put Aston Villa up 2-1 in the 58th minute, Sir Alex turned to an
unsuspecting bench player. Federico Macheda, a mere 17-year-old Italian boy, was given his first
playing time for United in one of Manchester United's biggest matches of the season.
When Taylor Fisher named Federico Macheda last week's Wednesday Wonder, few people - myself
included - expected the 17 year old to make any further impact this season. Let's face it, Macheda
was only in the squad against Aston Villa because of injuries and suspensions, and his spot on the
bench against Sunderland was more out of respect for the Italian.
It's always this way, isn't it? You wait forever for one bus and then four or five come along at
once. After a fairly drab season by Premier League standards, it's all gone frigging loopy as the
fight for European and domestic dominance reaches its final stretch. A month ago we (well mainly I,
but I'm sure you, too) were bemoaning the lack of really exciting games from the 08-09 Premier
League season.
Ten things I noticed from this week's Champions League semifinals:
1. The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth
Results lie. Sometimes. If not, then in the last 5 years I've been privileged enough to watch
the great Greek team of 2004 justly claim their prize as the greatest international team in
Europe.
As I did last week, I'm going to pull out the Future Almanac to divine this weekend's results for
your wagering delight. No doubt jealousy of my Almanac runs rampant, but I seem to be the only one
who thought of picking one up during my apparently esoteric travels. In other words, your
thundering incompetence is your problem.
Wigan 1 - 2 Manchester United
Trailing 2-1 to Aston Villa, losing 2-0 to Tottenham, pegged back at Sunderland and facing defeat
at Wigan, United have won them all. Where there could have been one point, there are 12 instead.
Lacking the character and quality to respond to setbacks, they would languish far behind Liverpool.
With two games left to go, the big talking point is whether Manchester United will hold up the
Premier League trophy this weekend for the third successive year? Well, seeing as they're playing
Arsenal whom have been battered like a piece of cod in the last week, one would suspect yes they
will.
Newcastle United are going down to the Championship after losing 1-0 to Aston Villa. Meanwhile
Sunderland managed to stay up despite losing at home to Chelsea 3-2 and Hull City were saved
despite a 1-0 loss at home to Manchester...
The Premier League Season is set to start in less then a day, so its time for OTWT resident
Liverpool Fan Endy in the Outfield to gives us his thoughts the marathon that is the premier
league.
