Ooh-aah-Benoit Spurs defender Benoit-Assou Ekotto is likely to find himself back in the supporters'
bad books after attacking a fan as he walked off the pitch following Saturday's defeat to Wolves.
He apparently took exception to being told: "You're s**t." We can only assume the cutting jibe was
a bit too close to home for Assou-Ekotto's liking!
Footballers in this day and age appear to not like being taunted by fans. Tottenham full back
Benoit Assou-Ekotto didn't take too kindly to being called shit by a fan and reacted by attempting
to attack the fan. Thankfully Tottenham assistant boss Joe Jordan was the calm head on the scene
able to prevent a potentially explosive event from turning ugly.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp insists that defender Gareth Bale will get a run out on
the pitch when Benoit Assou-Ekotto departs for the African Cup of Nations next month.
The Wales international has only been a peripheral part of Spurs' plans this season, making just
a handful of appearances.
