Final score and result:- Everton vs Chelsea 2-0 (Pienaar, Stracqualursi) 11 February, 2012-
Goodison Park, Liverpool- Saturday- 15.
By far the best arrival of Transfer Deadline Day was Benoit Assou Ekotto's crazy afro. The
Tottenham left-back has ditched his cornrows to rejuvenate his Jackson Five look, and we can only
applaud. Excellent work, Benoit.

Spurs midfielder Tom Huddlestone has had a lot of time on his hands since his ongoing ankle
injury started acting up again. But don't be thinking he's wasting it playing FIFA, pimping out his
wheels and falling out of clubs like most footballers do.
Benoît Pierre David Assou-Ekotto, or Mr Consistency to a growing number of Spurs fans always
scores well in our polls but did his performance last night finally secure our man of the match
award?
BAE's most telling influences on the game came in attack with the raking diagonal ball that set up
Aaron Lennon and the pile-driving second half strike that doubled his tally in a Spurs shirt.
Spurs duly won their game in hand last night with goals from Aaron Lennon and a stunning 30 yard
strike from Benoit Assou-Ekotto that completed a 2-0 win and saw the club go level on 45 points
with Manchester United.
After the match, Harry Redknapp hailed a great win and emphasised that he finds it a joy just to
watch Tottenham at the moment.
After August's rioting in London, Tottenham full-back Benoit Assou Ekotto was one of the most vocal
and active footballing voices suggesting that the game could be doing more to deal with social
problems in their local area. The Cameroon international took to the streets to see some of the
worst affected areas for himself after [.

Benoit Assou Ekotto's spectacular 30 yard strike continued a tradition of Spurs long range bombs
in recent times - Danny Rose, Rafael Van Der Vaart, Tom Huddlestone, Kyle Walker, come to mind. The
first goal came from Aaron Lennon, cutting past Leighton Baines, after the left back completely
missed clearing a long diagonal ball from Ekotto, and then shooting past the diving Tim Howard.
Brad Friedel and Spurs got the better of Tim Howard and Landon Donovan's Everton in the latest
battle of the Americans at Premier League level. Aaron Lennon fired in a shot from distance to open
the scoring in the 35th minute, and Benoit Assou-Ekotto made it 2-0 with a strong shot in the 63rd.
Friedel had an easy night, with Everton not putting a shot on goal.
Tottenham defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto scores a fantastic goal from all of 30 yards to give the
home side a 2-0 lead against Everton at White Hart Lane.
The Sunderland fan on the train has low expectations but he's loyal and a long way from home on
a cold Sunday afternoon. Spurs have more points, better players and better prospects but he has his
devotion to his club, a precious commodity these days for any any fan as far as I'm concerned, so
he expresses this in the time-honoured fashion: 'Where were you when you were s**t?
Cameroon's most decorated player and captain, Samuel Eto'o has 10 days to appeal his
International 15 game ban handed down to the striker after he incited player's to go on strike last
month which prompted Cameroon's friendly with Algeria to be postponed.
The strike followed a row over bonuses after a tournament in Morocco in November.
Harry's pre-match comments have pretty much given us the starting line up for tonight but there
are still some gaps to fill in,
"I was doing a little bit of work with them this morning and there's seven internationals in
there," said Harry.
"Defoe is here, Gio Dos Santos, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Kaboul, Pienaar, Niko, Sandro, they will
all play.
While the media focuses on the fact that Carlos Tevez is set for a 6-week suspension by Manchester
City (good news for Balotelli, Dzeko, and Aguero Fantasy Premier League owners), Tottenham's left
back Benoit Assou-Ekotto looks to be on the ... Continue reading →
The bad news just keeps piling up. Bacary Sagna who had to be stretchered off after his ankle
crumpled following a collision with Benoit Assou-Ekotto has been ruled out for three months with a
broken fibula of the right leg. This injury further decimates the already decimated back line.
19 year old Carl Jenkinson will see lots of playing time.
The French FA have confirmed that Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna broke his leg in the 2-1
defeat at Tottenham Hotspur and will be out for around three months.
"The France team doctor, Fabrice Bryand, was informed by his Arsenal colleague of an unstable
fracture to Bacary Sagna's right fibula," a FFF statement said.
We had the same stories with William Gallas last year so it should be expected that the
newspapers should highlight Emmanuel Adebayor's past and ask whether Spurs fans will be welcoming
him with open arms this season.
To be fair, these stories had been a bit thin on the ground this far so it was left to our old
nemesis the Daily Mail to ask the question.
Tottenham left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto says Spurs will attempt to pile the pressure on
Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea at Old Trafford on Monday night.
Benoit Assou Ekotto isn't your typical footballer. He's a straight talking, grounded and decent
bloke who just happens to be a footballer. You won't see Benny kissing the Spurs badge or
declaring his love for the club any time soon, he openly admits football is just a job to him, and
Tottenham Hotspur, nothing more than his employer.

When it came to the player of the season awards, Benoit Assou-Ekotto was a surprise candidate
for many fans and although Luka Modric was a clear winner in most polls, BAE was a strong
challenger for second place.
Fans like consistency, and aside for one or two isolated shaky performances, Benny showed a
level of form throughout that saw him make 45 appearances in all competitions for the club last
season.
None of the Tottenham players will be daunted by the prospect of Tuesday¹s eagerly-anticipated
Champions League quarterfinal against Real Madrid. After all, three of its likely starting lineup
have reached this stage of the competition before -- Heurelho Gomes (PSV), William Gallas
(Arsenal/Chelsea) and Peter Crouch (Liverpool) -- while another six have represented their
countries at major tournaments.
There's not much more that needs to be said on this matter: Benny Assou Ekotto is probably one of
the most highly coveted football figures amongst the British media these days. He's provided yet
another refreshingly honest and entertaining interview, this time for BBC Sport.
Benny has been discussed in recent months on this blog, after he was criticised by Alan Hansen and
after the Daily Mail interview a few weeks back, so there's little need to further analyse this
latest offering.
MANCHESTER, England Manchester United defender Rafael has been charged with improper conduct by the
Football Association. The Brazilian was sent off by referee Mike Dean during United's 0-0 draw with
Tottenham on Sunday. The youngster was furious at being shown a second yell card following a coming
together with Benoit Assou-Ekotto and voiced his [.

The new kid, No.77, put through his paces at Tottenham's training ground in Chigwell (wonder if
anyone will be ballsy enough to cut up his underwear?):
