Our friends over at New England Soccer Today are once again flexing their muscles and showing
off their superior sources, and today's piece does not disappoint. Few people were probably
expecting Monsef Zerka to return this season, but most were operating under the assumption that the
front office was at least making some attempt to bring him back at a reduced salary.
Less than a week after bringing American Edson Buddle back to Los Angeles, the team has
bolstered the roster further by unveiling two Brazilians.
Earlier this week, the Galaxy officially announced that the club had reached an agreement with
Brazilian club São Paulo FC, allowing midfielder Juninho to return on loan for the 2012
season.

The allocation was quick and swift for striker Eddie Johnson. The former FC Dallas and Kansas
City man was quickly selected by the Montreal Impact via the allocation order today. The Impact
quickly tweeted out that they would be trading him though.
It seems odd to me, but over the last few weeks I've seen Aaron Ramsey come in for a lot of
criticism, especially on the angst-spewing machine that is Twitter. The main bone of contention
seems to be that he has become an automatic first XI pick for Arsene this year, despite the fact
that he has not contributed enough to the team.

Add Vancouver to the list of clubs with multiple Designated Players.
Today the club announced today the acquisition of Scottish international midfielder Barry
Robson as the club's newest Designated Player.
The last time the Baltimore Blast visited U.S. Cellular Arena, they shut out the Milwaukee Wave
for the final 50 minutes and dealt the home team its first loss of the season.
Those points appeared to provide some motivation for the Wave on Saturday night.
Greg Howes had a goal and two assists in a seven-goal first quarter as Milwaukee raced
out to a 14-0 lead and thumped the Blast 22-8 in a Major Indoor Soccer League match watched by
4,707 fans at U.
Well, we kind of had an idea that Arsenal were playing well but not getting the results. It was
a matter of details according to Arteta, Wenger, and others. It all came good in this one as
Blackburn were the hapless victims of a rampant Arsenal side.
Chance conversion was another issue which was put to bed, at least temporarily, with 7 out of 8
shot on target registering on the scoreboard.
Juninho proved to be a handful for most MLS sides in 2011. (Getty Images)
I said a few weeks (or maybe just a couple weeks) back that the biggest thing that the LA Galaxy
needed to replace this winter was Juninho.
Well, what better way to replace him than with him.
The LA Galaxy announced on Tuesday that the club has reached an agreement with Brazilian club
São Paulo FC that will allow midfielder Juninho to return to the Galaxy on loan for the 2012 MLS
season.
For the second straight loan, Landon Donovan has performed at a high level for Everton, and for
a second straight loan, he's been rewarded with the club's Player of the Month honors.
Donovan captured Everton's award for January, replicating the feat that he accomplished back in
January of 2010.
Ola John impresses at FC Twente. Game in game out, the mercurial winger is involved with
dribbles, pinpoint crosses, assists and goals. He scored a beauty last midweek against Steaua
Bukarest, gifting his new/old coach McClaren the away win.

On Friday afternoon, the Montreal Impact selected United States International Eddie Johnson via
the allocation process. Per MLS rules, the Impact will now move to the back of the allocation order
for the next time a player enters this process.
After only an hour of being a member of the Impact, it was announced that he was traded to the
Seattle Sounders in exchange for Lamar Neagle and Mike Fucito.
By Tony Edwards - San Jose, CA (Feb 28, 2012) US Soccer Players -- In Tuesday's edition, Tony looks
at Major League Soccer's all-time statistical leaders, Nottingham Forest's league position, and an
upcoming attendance record in Toronto. At the end of this coming MLS season, could Landon Donovan
be the all-time MLS leader in any statistical categories?

Gunners, waiting for Götze? No longer, Thomas Eisfeld, 19 years old, who's supposed to be even
more Götze than Mario Götze and comes from the same club arrives at the Emirates for a princely
sum of £420,000. Which means dear Gunners, if you're waiting for the real thing, you're doing it
at your own hazard.
Liverpool were linked with dozens of players during the January transfer window, and one of the
names that kept popping up was Aston Villa's Darren Bent. With 164 goals and 39 assists in the last
nine seasons, the England International definitely matches the type of player Liverpool need (and
arguably still need), but the Bent has now revealed that a transfer was never realistically on the
Regular readers of my blog will know that I like to pick out a video on YouTube now and again to
showcase some of the work being done by fantastic people on there. In the last few days my Torres
post which had over 10,000 hits alone featured work put together on the video channel.
Here I present to you yet another one to have a watch.
A first win of 2012, seven goals, a striker in the form of his life, and one of the most
exciting young talents in the country. Finally a day really worth cheering about.
The emergence of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, in particular, is great news for the club. In recent
times Arsene Wenger seemed to have lost his touch with bringing in exceptional young talents, with
the likes of Diaby, Denilson and Walcott not fulfilling their potential, and the most exciting
player, Wilshere, coming up through the club's academy.
Olympique de Marseille vs. Olympique Lyonnais
Stade Vélodrome – Week 22, Ligue 1.
The swords are drawn.
The only two teams in French League alive in four championships play in The Olympico at
Stade Vélodrome. Not just another League match, but one that will set expectations for greater
games to come.
Craig Bellamy has been fantastic for Liverpool so far this season, and with 9 goals and 7 assists
to his name already, he is arguably the club's most important attacking player right now. Dirk Kuyt
played alongside Bellamy during his first stint at Anfield, and he believes that the Welshman is an
even better player now.
Robin Van Persie scored a hat-trick and gave three other assists in the 7-1 win over Blackburn this
weekend, but the teamwork amongst him, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was a joy to watch
as they terrorized the Rovers defence. The Ox was starting his fourth game in a row for Arsenal and
Van Persie [.
Darwin Jones was among the Seattle Sounders' recent cuts from preseason training camp, but that
doesn't mean he'll be going very far. The 19-year-old has joined the University of Washington's
2012 recruiting class, giving the Huskies four Sounders Academy products in this class alone. Jones
will be accompanied by Michael Gallagher, Ian Lange and Dominique Dismuke.
John Nyen spurs a more interesting relationship between Donovan and Dempsey than
"foil."
....or did they?

David Silva is behind more goals than any other midfielder, having a total of 17 goals and
assists, followed by Gareth Bale on 16. Nani and Mata are tied on 13, Valencia and Nasri on 10,
Giggs with 9 and Young on 7. However, when you take in to consideration the games they've actually
played in, specifically focussing on starts, Giggsy comes out top with an impressive 1.
Lionard Pajoy was having the best season of his career as a 30-year old in Colombia, and now the
6'1″ striker has a chance to build on his late blooming success as a member of the Philadelphia
Union.
The team announced the signing of Pajoy (pronounced "Pa-hoy") from Colombian first division side
Itagui Ditaires today.
On a night when AZ starter Charlison Benschop bagged a hat trick, late sub Jozy Altidore has come
on to hit a brace of his own, capping a 6-0 win at ADO Den Haag. They were both simple finishes,
coming less than two minutes apart on assists by Brett Holman and Maarten Martens.Jozy had been
without a goal since December 4th, but now his league total stands at seven and his haul across all
Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has dedicated his team's recent 7-1 mauling of Blackburn Rovers to
their under-pressure manager Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners dominated the relegation-threatened side last weekend, which was the first time that
they collected all three points this year. The lopsided victory means that Arsenal are now just
three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, who threw away a three-goal advantage against Manchester
United on Sunday.
Earlier today MLSSoccer.com reported that the reason Mac Kandji wasn't in camp right away is that
he was looking for a team in Europe. This afternoon the Rapids announced that Kandji had been
traded to Houston for a conditional 3rd round draft pick in 2014. Probably a fair trade for a guy
who's had 0 goals and 3 assists in 16 games.
ESPN Announced on Thursday morning that Circle Pines, Minn., resident Jenna Roering has been named
to the 22 women Gatorade State Fall Girls Soccer Players of the Year Team. The Centennial junior
forward scored 34 goals and passed for 12 assists this past season, leading the Cougars (18-2-2) to
the Class AA state semifinals.
West Brom's Peter Odemwingie was last season's Fantasy Premier League surprise star. 15 goals
scored. 9 assists. 28 bonus points. Super. But the Nigerian has only scored 4 goals this season and
had one of the 'misses of the year' ... Continue reading →

And, he does it again folks! He sinks three-pointer with .5-seconds left for the win.
Knicks come back in the 4th quarter Valentine's Night behind their Linsational point guard phenom.
He has 27 points and 11 assists in Toronto for the gutty 90-87 win.
The New York Knicks haven't lost a game with Jeremy Lin as a starter or before when he came off the
bench to play significant minutes.
Stewart Downing came for a big fee in the Summer of 2011. With a good touch, pace and
consistently the most crosses in the Premier League he looked like a good compliment to Andy
Carroll, but he was never worth the £18.5 million pounds Liverpool paid for him, becoming the
sixth most expensive Liverpool signing of all time in the process.
Vancouver Whitecaps head coach Martin Rennie has made no secret of his desire for a ball-winning
central midfielder, and he may have found the man for the job.
According to reports, the Whitecaps will sign Middlesbrough midfielder Barry Robson on a free
transfer once the Championship season concludes.

Robson as the club's newest Designated Player.
The Portland Timbers have seen enough from Cameroonian midfielder Franck Songo'o to make him one
of their own.
The Timbers announced they agreed to a deal with Songo'o on Thursday, signing the former
Barcelona youth product after his solid showing in Portland's first four preseason games.
Philipakos tweeted this photo with his announcement that Witkowski had signed.

tweet by agent Ted Philipakos. As of this writing no confirmation has been received from the
Union.
The Union selected Witkowski with their second pick of the 2012 Supplemental Draft.
Last weekend, Robb Heineman posted on Twitter that "pending league approval got another guy
resigned". Speculation on who that was ran around for a few days. The two names that were regularly
brought up were Matt Besler and Graham Zusi. The two had breakout years last year, with Besler
stepping up and anchoring the central defense for KC and becoming an asset on set pieces,
especially with his long throw.
On Monday, it was announced that the Revolution have acquired French striker Saër Sène on a
free transfer from Bayern Munich.
Sène had spent most of his time with the the team's reserve squad, Bayern Munich II, but had
also been called up to the senior team multiple times.
The Frenchman had appeared in 55 matches for Bayern Munich II over a two and a half year stint
with the club, scoring 19 goals and adding three assists.
The Linning streak had to end one day. Friday night ended up being that day. Jeremy Lin and the
New York Knicks lost at home against the New Orleans Hornets by a final score of 89-85. The Knicks
had won seven straight games.
Lin produced once again, finishing with 26 points, five assists and four steals in 40 minutes of
action.
