With the 2010 MLS season now wrapped up and the expansion draft done, it's time to focus on the
next big event, the 2011 Superdraft. It seems like there are many possible Generation Adidas
candidates for the MLS this year. Below is a list of 16 possible candidates, which the league
will most likely choose between 10-12 to sign a GA contract.
On the same day that Real Salt Lake gets to keep Alvaro Saborio as a Designated Player, the
Seattle Sounders FC have announced a similar signing in keeping striker Fredy Montero on board as
their third DP. Similar to Saborio's deal with RSL the club had to finalize the deal with Montero's
former club Deportivo Cali in Colombia.

Sometimes it's not bad to be wrong.
The Galaxy concluded a busy day by trading promising young striker Tristan Bowen to their
intrastadium rivals today in exchange for an unspecified amount of allocation money.
"Tristan is a talented, explosive player, and we're excited to bring him to the club,"
said Chivas USA Interim General Manager Jose Domene.
A pair of Wisconsin players were named to the second team of the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America women's NCAA Division III All-American team.
Rochester (N.Y.) junior forward Ellen Coleman (Wauwatosa West) earned the honor
for the second straight year, and was joined by UW-Stevens Point senior midfielder Mary
Jean Cornelius (West Bend West).
Its a given isn't it - surely Messi, the bookies favourite, is going to take home the
Ballon d'Or for the second year running?
- As this video shows, he scored three hat tricks in a week (10 in total)
- Last season he scored 47 goals in 53 games
- This season he has already scored 27 goals in 23 games (17 in 14 just in the League)
- He has scored 55 goals in the 2010 alone
- He broke his own record this season by scoring in 10 consecutive games
- The record ended when Barca bear Real Madrid 5-0.
FC Dallas fell short in its quest for an improbable MLS Cup title, but the club took a major
step toward making more runs at a championship by signing MLS MVP David Ferreira to a new
contract.
Dallas announced the signing of Ferreira's new multi-year deal on Wednesday, securing the
services of the Colombian playmaker, who helped guy Dallas to the 2010 MLS Cup Final.

Midfielder Sinead Farrelly tallied four goals and six assists during ACC play for the
University of Virginia. (Dec. 23, 2010) -- While only a small number of college seniors – 24
to be exact – will be drafted into Women's Professional Soccer on January 14, many may have to
claw their way onto the rosters of the six WPS teams once pre-season arrives.
TORONTO, Ont. Toronto FC announced Tuesday they have acquired a natural third round selection in
the 2012 MLS SuperDraft from Colorado Rapids in exchange for midfielder Joseph Nane. Nane, 22, was
selected by Toronto FC from Old Dominion University in the fourth round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft,
53rd overall.
If you need proof that the level of play in MLS is improving, just ask Kyle Nakazawa. The
Philadelphia Union's third round choice in the 2010 SuperDraft was an offensive juggernaut in his
senior season at UCLA, rebounding from an injury in 2009 to lead the team with 12 goals and 19
assists. But Nakazawa knew he would have to adjust his game to make it in the pros.
TUKWILA, Wash. — Fredy Montero has become the third designated player of the Seattle Sounders
FC after signing an extension with the team. The Sounders announced the deal on Wednesday. He joins
Alvaro Fernandez and Blaise Nkufo as Seattle's designated players. Montero, 23, has been the
Sounders' leading scorer each of their first two seasons.
CHARLOTTESVILLE – Virginia senior midfielder Sinead Farrelly (Havertown, Pa.) was one of
15 players named semifinalists for the 2010 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy. The award,
annually given to the top collegiate soccer player in the country, will be awarded on January
7.
Farrelly is a semifinalist for the second consecutive season, one of just two players on this
year's list to be a repeat selection.
The Cleveland crowd chanted, "Akron hates you!" (among other things), booed all night, and held
signs that read, "Quitness." But by the end of the game, LeBron James had dropped a season-high 38
points on the Cavaliers and the Miami Heat came away with a dominating 118-90 victory.
TSN
Dwyane Wade added 22 points for Miami, while James Jones scored 18 and Chris Bosh had 15 for the
Heat.

To some this won't be a big deal, to others it could be. Hours before the league dives into it's
brand new offseason free agency draft of sorts known as the Re-Entry Draft, a trade went down.
The Columbus Crew have sent forward Jason Garey to the Houston Dynamo in exchange for 4th round
MLS SuperDraft pick in 2015 (yes you read that date correctly).
HOUSTON, Tx The Houston Dynamo acquired forward Jason Garey in a trade with the Columbus Crew for a
fourth round draft pick, the Major League Soccer club's announced on Friday. The 26-year-old has
played for Columbus over the last five seasons, scoring 15 goals and six assists in 83
regular-season games.
Don't look now but the New York Knicks are once again a legitimate NBA team. By defeating the
Toronto Raptors 116-99 on Sunday, the Knicks are now 12-9 after winning their fourth straight game.
New York is in second place in the Atlantic Division 4.5 games behind the Boston Celtics and 3.5
games up on the third place Raptors.
Bale who?
On a day when the nominees for FIFA's Ballon d'Or is announced, there's a big chance
for someone at Arsenal to join that esteemed list next year. Barcelona may have dominated this
year's award when they have 3 of their own in the top 3, namely Lionel Messi, Andreas Iniesta and
Xavi but might have to sit back and accept that an Arsenal player may just sneak into the list this
time next year.
Kuba Is A Fan Favorite At Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund's Jakub Blaszczykowski has won Polish Player of the Year after turning in some
impressive performances at both club and international level. In the 09/10 season, Kuba, as he is
known for short, scored four league goals and contributed a few assists.
The Miami Heat are suddenly no longer struggling. After winning their fifth straight game, the
Heat are now 14-8. Their latest victim was the Milwaukee Bucks. Playing in Milwaukee, the Heat used
suffocating defense to post a 88-78 victory. Miami is now just 1.5 games behind the Orlando Magic
in the Southeast Division.

all the reviews here. Amobi Okugo is perhaps the most exciting young prospect on a team that
is full of them. The central player was drafted as a defensive midfielder from UCLA, but has shown
the ability to be a box to box type player as well.
The Philadelphia 76ers were about to take home an impressive victory but Kevin Garnett had other
plans. On a pass from Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett completed an alley-oop with 1.4 seconds remaining
to give the Boston Celtics a 102-101 win over the Sixers. The Celtics improved to 18-4, while the
Sixers dropped to 7-15.

January 20th 2006 was an exciting day in our history; Arsene Wenger secured the signature of
Theo Walcott on an initial pre-contract agreement to sign a professional contract on his 17th
birthday. Even at the tender age of 15 Theo was touted as one of, if not the, best youngster in
English football and he was now an Arsenal player.
The 2010 Hermann Trophy finalists were announced on Friday and two of three finalists could be
lifting an NCAA title this weekend.
Akron junior Darlington Nagbe and Louisville junior Colin Rolfe were both named as finalists,
along with Ohio State junior striker Will Bruin. The award, given each year to the best player in
college soccer, will be presented on Jan.

The 2010 Hermann Trophy finalists were announced on Friday. Two of the three are playing in
this weekend's College Cup final four.
Akron junior Darlington Nagbe, Louisville junior Colin Rolfe, and Indiana junior striker Will
Bruin.
Forward CJ Sapong is focusing on his potential professional career after a successful
collegiate season. "I am trying to get to the next level," Sapong said.
The attacking player leaves James Madison as one of the program's all-time players. Sapong ranks
fifth all-time in points (95), seventh in goals (37) and fourth in game-winning goals (12).
Ya Konan Has Lots To Smile About After His Sparkling Form This Season.
Hannover's head coach Mirko Slomka has no real reason to be pleased with his side's performance
on the night, but he'll be delighted with another three points. Didier Ya Konan, who has burst into
life this season with an already impressive 7 goals and 4 assists, added another two to his tally
to secure the win for Hannover.
Former Liverpool manager and current Inter Milan boss Rafa Benitez will reportedly look to pip his
former club to the signing of Bolton Wanderers striker Johan Elmander.
Elmander's contract at Wanderers expires at the end of the season and he has so far turned down a
one-year extension. Although the Swedish international has taken a while to settle down at the
Reebok Stadium, he has had a stunning start to the season, with eight goals and three assists for
Owen Coyle's side.
Morning all,
the weekend's over and now it's football time. It's an odd one, having a game of such importance
on a Monday night but there you go. The only bit of team news this morning is a report in The Sun
saying Wojscez©® could play because Lukasz Fabianski is struggling with some kind of unspecified
leg injury.
Williamsburg, Va. - After a stellar senior season for the College, William and
Mary Tribe senior men's soccer player
Nathaniel Baako was named a Second-Team
NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-American. Baako was the only player from the CAA to earn a spot on any
of the three NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-American teams.
Creighton Ethan Finlay (Marshfield) earned a pair of second-team All-American
honors, as the junior forward was lauded by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and
College Soccer News.
Finlay finished with 15 goals and four assists for the Bluejays, and moved into a tie for sixth
place in program history with 29 career goals.
After helping Grand Valley State (Mich.) win its second consecutive NCAA Division II women's
soccer title, forward Ashley Botts (Beloit) was one of two sophomores named to the
first team of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-American team.
Botts finished with 14 goals (six game-winners) and eight assists in 19 matches for the Lakers
(22-1-2).
Not long ago, the Miami Heat appeared headed to an implosion. Now? The Heat are the hottest team
in the NBA. By topping the New Orleans Hornets by a final score of 96-84 on Monday, the Heat have
now won nine straight games with all nine wins coming by at least ten points. At 18-8, the Heat
have the second best record in the Eastern Conference.
The
Virginian-Pilot Old Dominion freshman forward Gideon Asante and senior
goalkeeper Evan Newton have been named to the NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region Soccer squad.
Asante, a first-team pick, had four goals and two assists this season. Newton, a second-team pick
from Virginia Beach, finished with six shutouts, 74 saves and a 1.
The Colorado Rapids took a page from the past on Wednesday and drafted a former member of the
club in the second round of the re-entry draft.
The Rapids selected defender Tyrone Marshall with the 16th pick in Stage 2 of the 2010 Major
League Soccer Re-Entry Process.
By drafting Marshall, the Rapids are now required to make an offer to him within seven days.
The upcoming transfer window is so vitally important for clubs to bring in the right players
that will change the fortunes of the club, whether that be for the final push towards winning the
league such as in Chelsea's case or if it means to avoid relegation just like supporters of West
Ham United, Wigan Athletic and Wolverhampton Wanderers will be hoping.

Roger Torrez, whiz kid, everybody's favorite.
OK, so maybe not, but the kid can play, and he sure is fun to watch when he's on his game. The
19-year-old Colombian showed up in Chester, threw around some sick passes, dribbled in and out and
back into all sorts of trouble, and generally caused all sorts of on-field mischief.
During his time here, Josh Wolff was a bit of a polarizing figure for the team. It seemed most
people either liked him or hated him, there was very little middle ground. He found the net plenty
for KC (43 of his 75 career league goals came for KC, 46 of his 85 in all competitions came in
blue), but those that didn't like him pointed to his lack of movement on the field and what seemed
to be laziness many times on his part.
Rajon Rondo is having a fantastic season for the Boston Celtics. Unfortunately for Rondo and the
Celtics, the point guard is finding it difficult to stay healthy. Rondo's latest injury is a
sprained left ankle that will keep him out a while. GM Danny Ainge says Rondo will be out a couple
of weeks, while head coach Doc Rivers said one or two weeks.
The Boston Celtics can't be stopped. Even without the injured Rajon Rondo, the Celtics were able
to beat the Atlanta Hawks by a final score of 102-90 to extend their winning streak to 12 games.
Most experts thought it would be the Miami Heat leading the way in the Eastern Conference but
instead it is the old yet still hungry Celtics.
Alan Pardew has already witnessed the damage Andy Carroll can do to defenses, and Carroll seems to
be doing that week in and week out to the opposition. Andy Carroll - on England duty last month And
