Or at least I'd like to think so. :) As this is the team I'm entering to this season's Barclays
Fantasy Football (almost probably for sure maybe I won't do any more transfers...)
I've given a few Fantasy Premier League hints in the previous posts, but this is the ultimate
advice, as I'm going to give away my whole team.
Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Freddie Ljungberg was back in training on Monday, a day after
sitting out the team's 1-1 draw against FC Dallas with an unspecified ankle injury. His status for
Thursday's game against D.C. United is still up in the air, much like his future with the club,
with rumors swirling of a possible departure during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Aston Villa are in a great run of defensive form at the moment, having kept 5 clean sheets in the
last 6 games. One of the main beneficiaries of this has been Cuellar, who has played practically
every minute of every game. He also popped up with a header goal to help Villa draw with Manchester
United this week.

Landon Timothy Donovan currently holds the record for most goals and assists
for U.S. National Football Team.
Landon was already destined for greatness. In his first competitive game playing against older
players, he scored seven (7) goals!
The Wizards thinned out the number of players in camp today, as four players from the camp roster
were let go. Rauwshan McKenzie, Ofori Sarkodie, Eric Gehrig, and Kyle Brown were all let go.
McKenzie was the only player that was under contract for the Wizards, Sarkodie, Gehrig, and Brown
were trying to earn a contract.

Are you looking at Major League Soccer's all-time leader in goals and assists? Not yet you
aren't ... but Landon Donovan certainly may have both marks in pocket before it's over.
As is usually the case on the day of the MLS SuperDraft, several draft-day deals went down around
the league on Thursday, with three former members of the United States Men's National Team sent
packing to new destinations.First, the New England Revolution have sent the rights to defender
Chris Albright to the New York Red Bulls in exchange for the 31st- and 48th-overall selections in
today's SuperDraft.
After returning home to Los Angeles following the World Cup in South Africa, Landon Donovan
forced himself to stay motivated when returning to Major League Soccer.
There is no doubt that Donovan was the best American player throughout the tournament, netting
crucial goals against Slovenia and Algeria.
Landon Donovan took ASN's Week Seven Player of the Week honors though his competition did well to
keep pace. San Jose's Bobby Convey did his best impression of Donovan, grabbing a trio of assists
in the Quakes 4-0 romp of visiting New York. Toronto FC's Chad Barrett and DC United's Danny
Allsopp earned their first spot on the Best XI with a brace each in respective wins.
With every day that passes, the chances of Stuart Holden returning to the Houston Dynamo and Major
League Soccer next season seem to get slimmer and slimmer. The budding U.S. international has just
completed a well-publicized trial with Premier League club Bolton Wanderers and is apparently on
the verge of being offered a contract, according to new Bolton manager Owen Coyle.
Soccer America report on Arsenal-Porto match in UEFA Champions League Action yesterday-
[UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] Arsenal might once again finish the season without a trophy, but on
nights like Tuesday at the Emirates Stadium the Gunners are sure fun to watch. Arsenal got a hat
trick from Dane Nicklas Bendtner, a brilliant individual goal by young Frenchman Samir Nasri and a
goal by Emmanuel Eboue (set up by Andrey Arshavin) and crushed FC Porto, 5-0, to cruise into the
quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.
Landon Donovan scored the winning goal in Galaxy's 2-1 victory over DC United
Who needs David Beckham when you've got Landon Donovan? Despite the publicity and interest which
the former England captain brings to Major League Soccer (MLS) and to his club, it is the
all-American hero Landon Donovan who is helping Los Angeles Galaxy maintain their strong position
at the top of the league in the absence of Beckham.
Manchester City won 2-0 today - through Adebayor, Tevez, and an inspired Adam Johnson.
Meanwhile, Robinho was scoring beautifully flicked on backheel goals in Brazil...
Will Robinho ever have a serious impact on the Premier League? Or will Adam Johnson, who cost 1/4
of the price at only 8 million Pounds, end up having a more productive Premier League career?
Liverpool's assistant manager Sammy Lee has stated his delight with the performances and
professionalism of January signing Maxi Rodriguez.
The 29 year-old Argentina international was bought for £1.5 million, from next week's Europa
league semi final opponents Atletico Madrid, and has since made 14 appearances for the reds
contributing two assists.
ESPN has seen a 36% increase in its ratings compared to the World Cup four years ago as suddenly
soccer became a sport that the mainstream media covered. But the question that Major League Soccer
probably wanted answered was did that interest in the world cup translate to more fans going to MLS
games?
The unlucky bounces, close calls, and heartbreakers have eased up on the Islanders for the
time-being the Islanders have enjoyed a few weeks in the sun. After posting 1 win in their first 11
season games, the Islanders have won their last 3 USL-2 contests over Charlotte once and Real
Maryland twice.
A nice little graphic with Forlan's tournament statisticsAfter the World Cup, it's not all over,
there's still plenty of awards to be dished out even if your team didn't lift the trophy. When the
nominees were announced, I put up a post with the Golden Ball (best player of the tournament) and
Best Young Player award nominees, I forgot about the Golden Glove (best goalkeeper of the
tournament), but that award seemed already decided.
It was cold, wet and pretty miserable in Fort Lauderdale on the first day of the MLS Combine,
but that didn't stop the players on dsiplay from actually putting forth some better soccer than
we've come to expect from the first day of the Combine.
Many of the draft's top prospects played like top prospects, while some others experienced what
could be written off as the traditional first-day jitters that can hit even the best players (like
Omar Gonzalez last year).
Playing fantasy football manager games means one thing: you're always after the next hot player.
That could be Manchester United midfielder Antonio Valencia. The Ecuador-born player has been part
of ManU for half a season now and has already broken his previous EPL-record with 5 goals scored
and 6 assisted.
Former Arsenal star and current Seattle Sounders FC Designated Player Freddie Ljungberg is being
courted by a number of clubs in Italy, according to reports emerging from the country in recent
days. One of the clubs that is openly chasing the former Swedish international is Serie A
strugglers Livorno, who have allegedly contacted David Beckham in Milan to get his opinion on
Ljungberg's current form.
Seattle Sounders FC's leading goalscorer Fredy Montero has received offers from at least two teams
overseas, according to a Colombian report. One of the potential suitors was revealed to be Turkey's
Fenerbahce; the other team, an unidentified club from Russia.
Montero, 22, appeared in 27 games in his first season in Major League Soccer after joining the club
from Deportivo Cali in his native country.
Those hoping to see at least one member of the Holden family donning a Houston Dynamo jersey during
the 2010 MLS season are officially out of luck. Euan Holden, the younger brother of Stuart and a
fourth-round pick of the Dynamo in this year's draft, has signed a 1-year deal with Danish side
Vejle Boldklub according to a story on the club's official website.
Blaise Nkufo might be the best pure scorer to ever join Major League Soccer.
I realize that's a bold statement, but you should know that it's not just homerism taken to
hyperbolic extremes.
Since Nkufo's signing, I've been trying to figure out a reasonable way to set expectations for a
soon-to-be 35-year-old player most casual fans have never heard of and won't be joining the team
until after the World Cup.

Chivas USA may have brought a different team and a new outlook to this year's clásico, but the
result was still the same, a Galaxy victory.
Mexican legend Cuauhtemoc Blanco is open to the idea of returning to Major League Soccer following
the World Cup, according to his representative, Jose Manuel Sanz. Blanco returned to Mexico this
past offseason, signing with second-division side Veracruz after spending nearly three years as a
Designated Player with the Chicago Fire.
U.S. international midfielder DaMarcus Beasley is set to move away from Ibrox Stadium this summer,
confirming on his official Twitter account that his time with Rangers has come to a close following
Sunday's Scottish Premier League finale. A telling sign of his impending departure came even before
the out-of-contract winger's comments were made public on Sunday morning: he did not even make the
bench for Rangers final two games of the season, even though the team had already clinched the SPL
title in late April.
Philadelphia Union acquired midfielder Justin Mapp today from the Chicago Fire in exchange for
allocation money.
Mapp, 25, is a left-footed winger who has played all but three games of his professional career
with the Fire since being drafted fourth overall in the MLS amateur draft. He has five caps for the
U.
Ode Akpoji started playing soccer on his fourth birthday when he received a soccer ball as a
gift. Born to Nigerian parents who were glad to see their son taking up soccer, Akpoji was soon
excelling at the sport.
Akpoji now plays for his high school, Suncoast Community High School, in Florida.
Its getting closer to the end of the year for the college soccer season and as much as I planned
earlier this year to discuss college soccer my lack of time got in the way. So I'm playing catch up
now. The college soccer season just passed the mid-way point and boy there are some standout teams
right now.
Patrick Vieira's comments on Thursday that the Premier League is going backwards wasn't just the
withering criticism of a star on the slide.
It seems the legendary Arsenal captain has made good use of his time on the bench in Manchester
by wryly observing the state of the competition and the failings of his contemporaries and has come
to the conclusion that the league isn't as good as it was in his hey-day.
Mike Seamon, Villanova Wildcat attacker and 2010 MLS Combine participant was voted
first team Big East this season in a tough conference. Seamon's five goals and seven assists led
the Wildcats, the fourth time in his career that he has led the team in scoring, a testament to his
value in the Villanova squad.
Romanian side Steaua Bucuresti has expressed interest in Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Mike Magee,
according to reports coming out of the country in recent days. A roughly-translated article from
the country appears to indicate that Magee will be joining the club on trial in the near
future.
"I do not know too much about it," said club owner Gigi Becali.
Hot off the, errrr, email? ....
RENTON, WASH. - The Seattle Sounders FC have signed forward Pat Noonan, it was announced today.
Per Major League Soccer and club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Noonan, 29, is a two-time MLS All-Star selection and ranks No. 3 in career goals and assists for
New England.
Might Claudio ‘El Piojo' Lopez be on his way back to Major League Soccer? The Washington Post's
Steven Goff claims that a move to the Colorado Rapids is in the works for the Argentine veteran of
two World Cups (1998, 2002).
Lopez, 35, came to the United States in 2008 when he signed on as the first Designated Player in
the history of the Kansas City Wizards.
As was rumored earlier in the week, the Colorado Rapids have reached a deal to bring Argentine
forward Claudio ‘Piojo' Lopez back to Major League Soccer. He will be added to the club's roster
upon receipt of his P1 Visa and will likely be available for next Saturday's match against his
former team, the Kansas City Wizards.
When I did the position for position analysis before the Quater-Final first leg some people
jumped on me simply because they had a different opinion. Probably the most controversial
comparison was when I said Cesc was a better player than Xavi.
Now before I proceed further I would like to put it on record that I love watching Xavi and that
he is an excellent player.
The PFA Player of the Year awards are coming up. The shortlist is quite predictable. Cesc is up
against Shrek, Drogba and Tevez and I believe El Capitan is by far the best player in that
group.
No doubt all three strikers have been in great form and are the best players in top quality
teams.

Valencia's attacking midfielder David Silva is a naturally gifted attacking midfielder who is
perennially linked with a move away from the Mestalla, along with his fellow teammates David Silva
and Juan Mata, and its easy to see why so many of Europe's elite would like to snap up the 24 year
old Spanish international.
And once again it's that time for our good friend Mr. Renoog to enlighten us with the best
"Assists of the Week". We start it off with Luis Fabiano feeding Freddie Kanoute, then progress
into a Sergio Ramos double-showing, setting up Cristiano Ronaldo both times. Then we head to Serie
A to see Claudio Marchisio turn the style on to set up Alessandro Del Piero.

Liverpool are hoping to make a successful move for German international starlet Mesut Ozil this
summer. Rafa Benitez is a big fan of the Werder Bremen attacker and hopes that he can convince the
Bundesliga club to accept an offer in the region of £8m for the 21 year old.
