Highly experienced referees Kari Seitz, Margaret Domka and Marlene Duffy were selected to officiate
the CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying tournament being held from Jan. 20-29 in Vancouver,
Canada.

technical tests at the CONCACAF Elite Referee Course.
Should football introduce the 'Vanishing Spray'? - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
The 'vanishing spray' is used by the referee to mark 10 yards between the ball and the wall at
free-kicks. This line is a clear indicator of where the opposition teams should be standing before
the free-kick is taken and was introduced in an effort to stop the attacking team gaining advantage
by moving closer to the goal and the defensive side from encroaching towards the ball.
After publication of my latest blog, which featured an analysis of the error made by one of the
Assistant Referees at the end of the game between Sunderland AFC and Manchester City last weekend,
I was contacted by a gentleman...
Apparently refereeing is getting better year on year, according to Mike Riley that is, and that's
how he started off his interview with the BBC's Mark Chapman last night on Radio 5 Live. It's

Exciting news out of England as the International Football Association Board (IFAB), the body
responsible for the laws of the game of soccer, announced that two goal-line technology systems
will move forward with testing. The two systems, Hawkeye (already used in tennis and cricket) and
GoalRef, will undergo further testing with the goal of introducing the technology no later than the
2014 World Cup.

Veronica Perez, who was selected in mid-February to officiate the 2012 CONCACAF Under-20 Women's
Championship, will be an assistant referee for the semifinal match between Canada and host Panama
on Friday, March 9.
The PGMOB have removed Lee Mason from his second Manchester City match in three games this
afternoon - Lee Probert will now referee the Wolves event after Kevin Friend took over for the West
Brom one.
Presumably nothing to do with the decisions that Mr Mason made in the Man Utd/QPR game nor the fact
that United are yet to lose when he officiates.
