Apparently, Kofi Sarkodie and Will Bruin are not the only members of the Houston Dynamo across
the pond these days. Take a close look at that picture yesterday from Celtic's 1-0 win over Hearts
of Midlothian at Celtic Park. Reeeaalllll....Clooooosseeee.

Editor's note: At the end of the 2010 season, we posted a series of "Raves" about our
favorite Philadelphia players. They need not be the team's best players, but they're guys and gals
we like. Over the next two weeks, we continue the series again with some of the PSP writers' and
contributors' favorite players of 2011.
The Philadelphia Union have made their first off-season moves, and the latest installment of the
KYW Philly Soccer Show has Union assistant coach John Hackworth on the pod to talk about
it.
In part one, Coach Hackworth joins KYW‘s Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page
writer Eli Pearlman-Storch to discuss losing veteran midfielder Justin Mapp to Montreal Impact in
the Expansion Draft and other possible moves in the offseason.
Galaxy owner Anschutz Entertainment Group is a part-owner of Swedish club Hammarby, so the news
isn't as strange as it first appears. Still, Gregg Berhalter has been an assistant coach at the
Galaxy for less than a year, so it's still a big step up. And it's a sign of
When 2011 started, LA Galaxy defender Gregg Berhalter set out to work on his life after soccer.
Turns out, the season he spent as a player-assistant coach was the best transition possible.
Berhalter hit the ground running on his post-playing days, as he was named manager of Swedish club
Hammarby IF on Monday.
Things just keeping getting tougher for goalkeepers. The match balls continue to be more active and
fly faster, attackers are stronger and smarter, and now the U-23 coaching staff has added a new
challenge: the absence of light.
OK, it was just for one session and it wasn't actually planned that way, but it still made the
training interesting.

David Beckham isn't going anywhere — for now.
Despite rumors that the LA Galaxy's Beckham was present at Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 clash
with Lille on Sunday, reports have emerged to squash any notion of that kind.
With a reported move to PSG imminent, Beckham was thought to be in France to finalize an
18-month deal to the newly-rich club.
Jurgen Klinsmann is bringing in former Bayern Munich teammate Andreas Herzog to be his assistant
coach on the U.S. national team. The Austrian soccer federation made the announcement that Herzog,
who had 103 caps for Austria, would be leaving his job as Austrian U-21 coach to return to the
United States, where he finished his career with the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2004.
A coaching change at FC Ingolstadt led to an early winter break for Edson Buddle, who was sent
home until the new year. The U.S. national team striker isn't going to lay around doing nothing
during the German winter break though. He has headed to London, where he will spend a week training
with West Ham United.

Trevor James, an assistant coach for the Portland Timbers during the 2011 season has officially
departed from the team's technical staff today. Those of you who were with us during this past
pre-season will remember that he had spent the previous 5 years as an assistant coach and director
with the LA Galaxy, which means he brought a lot of experience from one of MLS's best teams to the
Timbers, unfortunately for us.
For the first time since its soccer-specific stadium opened in 2005, FC Dallas won't be playing
at Pizza Hut Park.
Instead, the club will play at the temporarily named FC Dallas Stadium while it searches for a
new sponsor.
Pizza Hut is reportedly dropping its sponsorship of the stadium, effective after the Football
Championship Subdivision title game is held there on Jan.
The Portland Timbers continue to make offseason news even with official matches still over two
months away. The team announced the departure of assistant coach Trevor James while also releasing
details of a community tour that will see the MLS team visit four selected communities in central,
southern and central Oregon.
The Seattle Sounders talent scout and assistant coach is often just thought of as Sigi's son,
this discounts his work efforts as recently profiled at SoundersFC.com. A rare man of the Rave
Green and Capitol Blue Ajah he hunts for players that hold that certain spark. He travels from Qalm
(from where Cato is looking to succeed) to Shienar (a cold forlorn place where they are known to be
good fighters).
Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed Cliftonville have backtracked on an agreement the
Premier League club had regarding a fee for Rory Donnelly.
The Welsh side announced last week that an offer, believed to be in the region of £100,000, had
been accepted by Cliftonville for the teenage striker.
