It's nail-biting stuff
TOTTENHAM are still sweating on confirmation as to whether their last-ditch attempt to sign
Rafael Van der Vaart from Real Madrid was successful, and there's no official word
from either club as yet.
It appears RBS, the Royal Bank of Scotland, which is the holder of much of the debt Liverpool FC
currently find themselves in is prepared to wipe off a large majority of it and take control of the
club. The bank is about to move the debt to it's toxic assets division, which effectively means
they are close to writing it off.
The Royal Bank of Scotland who are Liverpool owners Tom Hicks and
George Gillett's current lenders have put an October 6th deadline in place, by
which time they expect the American pair to fully repay outstanding loans that totaled somewhere
around the £285 million mark at the last count.
Tottenham could make a £6m move for Newcastle striker Andy Carroll in the January transfer
window. The powerful 21-year-old has scored four league goals this season.

Tottenham want full-back Kyle Naughton to sign a new deal at White Hart Lane before they will
allow him to join Portsmouth on loan.
Luis Fabiano said earlier today that he was suppose to make a switch to Lige 1 club, Olympique
de Marseille, after having agreed to terms with the club but unfortunately the deal did not fall
through. Although the Brazilian striker would have been delighted with a move back to the French
side, Fabiano admitted that the price tag put on him was just to high for Marseille or other clubs
to reach.
The agent of Luis Fabiano has stated the striker may look to depart from Sevilla if his current
scenario doesn't change.
Brazillian international Fabiano has only played 17 minutes of the current season, despite
signing a new deal at the end of last month which sees him at the Spanish club until 2013.
