So after a long week of Melo will sign and Melo won't it appears now conclusively that Juve have
struck a deal and Arsenal can't financially and won't match it. So this leaves the door open for
the question who will we attempt to sign now, after our main target has moved.. I shall
discuss:
Blaise Matuidi
This transfers seems to be done on the evidence of things; he is apparently in England,
according to Sky Sports news and his current club St Etienne have signed Fernande's from Man City
(Central Defensive Midfielder) and appear to be looking for another defensive minded player, from
Greece somewhere.
Arsenal should be after a midfielder.
Gareth Barry was priced out of everyone's price bracket when Manchester City offered him
£130,000 a week. This is double what Arsenal would have even thought of offering the England
international.
Yaya Toure is the old chestnut that never goes away; look out for the Steven Appiah stories to
emerge soon!
Football Italia reported this morning that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has flatly rejected Chelsea as a
possible suitor.Ibrahimovic's criteria is simple, he feels Inter can no longer elevate his game.
I've always been of the thought its the player who lifts the club and thus his career. But its
obvious Zlatan feels Inter's surrounding cast can no longer make him better.
Landon Donovan has been regarded the best USA outfield player in the last few years. He's the
all-time leading goalscorer for the national team and has been one of the top players in MLS for
several years. While there are many who criticize Donovan, there's no denying that he has the
ability to play in one of the top leagues in Europe.
It's not exactly a lazy Sunday on the transfer front, as there's a nice amount of transfer news
and rumors to report on from around Europe.
We've also got a few new signings to add to our summer transfer lists, so after you check out
today's roundup, make sure you check out all of the latest signings.
It's a relatively slow day on the transfer news and rumors front, but since it's a Monday, that
may be something to be expected.
Nonetheless, there's still a little something from here and a little something from there to
give you your transfer gossip fix today.

Terry To Address Rumors?
Reports in this morning's papers suggest that Carlos Tevez is on his way to Liverpool, eyeing a
reunion with his Argie team-mate, Javier Mascherano.
This idea is flawed for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the asking price is around £30 million, a
price tag Liverpool are unlikely to play. Secondly, Tevez is happy at the club and was telling the
directors to listen to the 'sign him up' chants on Sunday.
Newspaper and website talk is heating up over the news that Arsenal and not Liverpool could be
the destination of Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry. Barry was subject of massive speculation
last summer, but Liverpool were not prepared to pay £18 million for the England midfielder.
Aston Villa will reluctantly let Barry leave after they reached a gentleman's agreement last
summer whereby if Villa failed to qualify for the Champions League, they would listen to offers and
reduce their asking price.
This recent bout of hot weather has made Norwegians hit the beaches like dyslexic gangsta
rappers, but like busses in the Stavanger-area the Tippeliga waits for no one, and so here is a
quick roundup of the latest batch of games from the top tier of Norwegian football.
By now you really must be getting tired of reading this phrase, but it continues to be the case
and we're too hot to figure out a more clever way of wording it: Unless Rosenborg
sell their entire midfield in the summer, they'll win the league.
Joan Laporta has confirmed yesterday that the club has agreed on principle with Inter about a deal
which will see Zlatan Ibrahmovic moving to Barcelona for exchange of Eto and some cash. There are
rumours flying in plenty for sometime and the latest rumours suggests that Barca will give 40
million plus the service of both Eto and Hleb on loan.
I don't think so!
Emirates chief Arsene Wenger will then use the cash to pursue Fulham's Brede Hangeland,
viewing the Norway star as a direct replacement for Toure.
The Cottagers are determined not to let their prized asset leave on the cheap and will demand
all of the Toure money before they even consider selling him.
Rounding up all the days biggest transfer news and gossip.
Has Mido Joined Liverpool?
"Egypt striker Mido is set to leave Middlesbrough after manager Gareth Southgate accepted an
undisclosed offer for him from an unnamed club." BBC
Right. Nowhere on the world wide web, does it state that Mido has joined Liverpool.
Deal almost done!
When Alonso officially informed Liverpool last week that he wanted to move to the
Bernabeu, the Reds were given encouragement by cashstrapped Roma to open talks with
Aquilani.
Liverpool are ready to strike a compromise deal with Madrid at about £28m less than their
initial £32m valuation, However, it is still £12m above what Liverpool were willing to accept
from Juventus for Alonso a year ago.
Earlier this week the sage of the financial world Alex Ferguson made a pronouncement on the
financial situation at Arsenal. His claim was that Arsene had very little money to spend and it
will be tough for Arsenal this season.
This comes from the club who are £800million in debt and have annual interest payments of
£45million.
One of the front runners in line to buy Newcastle United have today withdrawn their interest.
The Profitable Group, represented by Steve McMahon, were alleged by some to just be drawing up
publicity and any serious involvement by them was met with skepticism by supporters.
However, there are some reports that they could not prove that they had the funds to meet the
asking price.
Not convinced by the validity and accuracy of this story!
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Sir Alex Ferguson has targeted Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero as
the man to provide the missing Old goals.
Argentinian Aguero, 21, is seen as the ideal replacement for Carlos Tevez, having formed a potent
partnership with ex-United striker Diego Forlan in La Liga.
And around we go once more!
Real Madrid are threatening to walk away from negotiations to sign Xabi Alonso if
Liverpool do not drop their £30million asking price today.
The Reds' managing director Christian Purslow entered talks in Barcelona on Sunday demanding
£30m up front for their 27-year-old with a further £4m in performance-related add-ons.
Not for the first time this summer, Real Madrid look set to give up in their chase for a player,
namely Xabi Alonso.
According to Sport, Los Merengues are unwilling to pay the €50 million that Liverpool are
demanding for the midfielder. Though money is seemingly in plentiful supply at the Bernabeu,
Florentino Perez refuses to pay over the odds for any player.
The latest rumour, not that it's a new latest rumour, is that Xabi Alonso will complete his move to
Real Madrid at the end of this week and then David Silva will be brought in by Rafa.
Real are signing Xabi one minute but not the next, with them coming in with a higher offer, before
lower it or losing interest all together the next, all of which is (or has) unsettled the Spanish
international.

Lane indicate that Liverpool have made a shocking and audacious bid for current Manchester United
striker Carlos Tevez. Tottenham were preparing their own bid for Tevez, but have been left dejected
by Liverpool's much more attractive offer.
Yoann Gourcuff, who is on loan at Bordeaux from Milan, has been voted the Player of the
Year in Ligue 1 by his fellow professionals and the outstanding playmaker has expressed
his desire to remain at Bordeaux when his loan deal ends. The young midfielder has
really blossomed under Laurent Blanc after struggling on the fringes at Milan and
he is definitely the player who has to take most of the credit for the club's uptrend in fortunes
this season.
Manchester United are lining up a £15 million bid for Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as a
replacement for Carlos Tevez. Sir Alex Ferguson is not confident he will keep Tevez at United with

It is more than clear that Florentino Perez has still not finished building Galacticos 2 as Real
Madrid are trying to sign a number of players at the moment. They have been linked with
Brazilian full-back Maicon for quite a while but they have finally made a move and
started negotiations with Inter.
Danijel Pranjic became the newest addition to Bayern Munich today, but it was something of a
surprise, since negotiations between Bayern and Pranjic's former club, Heerenveen were all but
dead. At least until Pranjic offered to go into his own pocket to settle the difference, that is.
He told Voetbal International:
"I got a phone call earlier today that Heerenveen's asking price was still a problem for
Bayern.

determine their economic situation and set an appropriate asking price for the midfielder.
The Spanish champions could finally grant Andrey Arshavin's wish. Barcelona are weighing up a move

very close to joining the Catalan outfit from Zenit St. Petersburg last summer, but the player's
move to Camp Nou failed to materialise as the two clubs could not [.
Even after signing Raul Albiol, Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Karim Benzema, Real Madrid's summer
spending spree has no end in sight. Next on Florentino Perez's wishlist is Arsenal midfielder
Francesc Fabregas. Real are preparing a bid in the region of Arsenal's asking price of £40
million.
Cesc is reportedly unhappy at Arsenal's lack of big signings, as Arsene Wenger has continued his
tradition of buying lesser known players and developing them.
Barcelona are preparing to test Arsenal and Cesc Fabregas with a bid for the Catalan playmaker if
Liverpool continue to thwart their bid to prise Javier Mascherano away from Anfield, according to a
report.
Blaugrana coach Pep Guardiola confirmed this week that he wants to add a midfielder to his ranks,
but while he stated the player would not be expensive, the Board has other ideas.
Time for Rafa to stand by his guns on this one.
Rafael Benitez, the Liverpool manager, has made it clear he will not lower his asking
price for the Spain international despite more than two months of machinations from Madrid in an
attempt to unsettle Alonso.
Though Madrid are yet to lodge a formal offer, they are believed to have informed Liverpool they
are unwilling to pay any more than £24 million for Alonso.
Even though Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that this transfer window was over for United, the
latest reports suggest that might not be true. British ‘Sun' reports that Manchester
United have made bids for David Silva and Kun Aguero, with the combined fee of
€70 million.
Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos is reported to have agreed a switch to Everton.
The Swiss centre-half has slipped down the pecking order at Emirates Stadium in recent times,
and spent the 2008/09 season on loan at AC Milan.
Despite the Gunners having offloaded Kolo Toure to Manchester City this summer,Arsene
Wenger has moved to snap upThomas Vermaelen from Ajax.
Well, the deal for Gaxa, the South African right back we were previously close to signing, has
fallen through. We were close to signing him at one point but his club in South Africa continued to
raise their asking price until it reached one million euros. There was no way AEK was going to
spend so much so instead we have signed the second right back that we were looking at, Carlos
Araujo.
West London side seem desperate to spend money!
Though the club are keen to deliver a star signing for new manager Carlo Ancelotti with
the best will in the world, Yuri Zhirkov does not fit the bill Atletico's asking price has been
£50million and despite reports in Spain, no new bid is on the table.
Manchester United have again been linked with a move for Lyon striker Karim Benzema, after they
were reportedly priced out of the market for the talented Frenchman last year. If the rumors are
true it does put question marks over the future of some of United's strikers.
Carlos Tevez, who is one of United's most consistent players, looks to be heading for the exit
door as his opportunities in the team have been limited since the arrival of Dimitar Berbatov.
Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry is in talks with Manchester City about a move to
Eastlands.

£18m asking price.

Ferdinand and Dimitar Berbatov earn.
German international attacking midfielder Marko Marin is finally heading to Werder Bremen after
striking an agreement to meet Borussia Monchengladback's 10million euro asking price, an initial
figure that has caused the transfer to develop into a hard-fought saga.
The Bosnian-born 20-year-old, praised by Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf as "One of the biggest talents
in German football,"could have walked away on a free transfer in twelve months but Monchengladback
were relentless in ensuring they received an adequate fee for their highly-rated creative
