It never ceases to amaze me what you can find on the Internet... Would you believe a site full of
poems about soccer/football? 10,000+ poems? Football Poets has this plus new poems submitted almost
every day. There are a lot of Euro 2008 submissions in the new section. Here's one that ends
thusly: Not just [.
If you haven't seen them - these are hilarious. Let's just say #1 is NOT my favorite. Add two or
three. captions, ives, mexico, sbi, us soccerSHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "SBI Captions - USA v

Over at the NC-Soccer Forum, Wreave shares an old April Fool's gag they pulled a few years
ago, complete with a dummy website. Anyone who has been involved in youth soccer for a while will
appreciate the humor in what he wrote. My favorite? One minor but important change is that the Law
11 offense formerly [.
Someone mentioned that the name of their girls soccer team was 'The Pussycats'. Almost by reflex I
was going to ask if he had a player named Josie, but figured I'd date myself badly.
West Hammered: MLS Learns from the Pros While English cynicism used to be a cherished import in the
all-too-earnest hinterland of soccer-loving North America, the bile has lost its caché in the
past few years. No more, Guardian. Cease and desist, 'When Saturday Comes'. Your glib asides on the
American game, which may have [.
I've been using social networking sites more and more, and finding some rather funny stuff. I use a
great Twitter client called TweetDeck, which allows you to search the public timeline for certain
keywords so you can monitor tweets with certain words. Very cool. Well, I had to share a rather
funny tweet that scrolled [.
I've always gotten a kick out of the reaction of parents new to soccer when the weather gets bad.
Most expect when it rains that everything gets canceled. But unless there is lightning or the field
is underwater - you usually play. But you rarely see pictures of these matches because people don't
want their cameras to get wet.
but what if your field looks like a swimming pool? Yay for rain to ease our drought, but the
fields are soaked. - Things don't look much better for this weekend, but we can't complain too
much. More rain = less drought! Thankfully we only had rain and some wind, unlike Elon University
which saw their football [.
Am I the only one who finds this whole Next Soccer Star concept a little bit odd? It's like an
online reality show or some attempt to make a social network for wannabe soccer pros. And we all
know how the last soccer themed social network did (been to joga.com lately?). I know everyone
got [...
How cool is that? We've gone from five whole readers to ten in recent weeks! I'm out of
fingers to count on... But seriously - I'm really happy to see more folks stopping by to read the
ramblings of a crazy SoccerDad such as myself. Once in a while I happen to put something out
there [...]SHARETHIS.
Over at Tootsiesshoes, they have a very eloquent post about the benefits of youth soccer.
Si, me siento decepcionado,
Habemus futbol a media semana.

Don't look now, but SoccerDad's youngest is finally getting to play some soccer! After kicking a
ball around on the sidelines since he could walk while his older siblings played, Chase starts
playing this Spring. He's SO excited and his older brother and sister got him all decked out with
cleats, shin guards, and a [.
When I signed up for BlogBurst, a sort of clearinghouse for large media outlets to pickup blog
posts for republication, I doubted any of my posts would ever get selected for republication. So
imagine my surprise when two of them were recently selected by Reuters. It's pretty cool to see
something you wrote published on [.
Bear with us this morning - finally doing a long overdue upgrade, so a few things might break for a
bit. Hope to have everything running smoothly, and hopefully faster in an hour or so.
Chelsea's preparations for this evening's European Cup final were dealt a late blow last night when
Ashley Cole, the England full-back, who was due to directly confront Cristiano Ronaldo at the
Luzhniki Stadium, suffered an ankle injury which leaves his participation in doubt.
Sorry for the recent silence, especially during the offseason when I can usually write the most. A
lot has been going on with me, our league, and other stuff this Spring, which I hope to fill you
all in on soon.
It's not even November yet here in North Carolina, where the average high temparature this time of
year is 68F. Looking out my window (on a day my team practices), it's 45F and big ice pellets are
falling out of the sky. Yesterday my team played a match in sunny weather with temps in the [...]
