Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has sung the praises of Park Ji-Sung.
Park scored the opening goal in what Wenger called "the most disappointing night" of his career,
when United thrashed Arsenal at the Emirates in the Champions League semi-final last year.
We repeated that thrashing this season at the Emirates, with Park on the scoresheet again.
The World Cup is turning out to be better than expected, and fingers crossed I don't jinx it by
saying that. After being tortured by Inter Milan in the Champions League with some extremely
boring, highly tactical anti-football these matches feel like a breath of fresh air.
Korea opened the day with a good win over an inept Greece.
Is this desperation on the FFA's part?
Perhaps not, although College Street at least seems to have woken up to the fact that the A-League
needs to attract new fans, and fast. Although the "Aussie marquee" initiative is a perfectly good
idea, it's hard to see how it will affect matters substantially.
Late start - obvious.
FFA Cup with State Leagues - great move.
Late finish and maintaining 3 match-ups - very poor move.
Reducing foreign players from 5 to 4 - not sure about this one. Could signal reduction in teams to
10 and therefore increased local players. If 11 or 12 teams go forward, better to limit Wellington
to 5 foreign players and free up Australian players that way.
