The face of Thai football has changed immeasurably over the years and mostly it's for the better. I first moved to the country in the early 90s and while I would often read the results in the local paper and I often promised myself I would get to a game I never did.
In them times Thai Farmers' Bank were the best team, they won an Asian club competition and they even had a club shop in Siam Square selling shirts and pennants and so on.

The Malaysian football league may not have many teams. Just 14 in the top flight Super League and 12 in the Super League. But when you add the FA Cup and the Malaysia Cup what you have is a domestic season that begins in January and finishes at the end of October. Then the best players get to prepare for the SEA Games or the AFF Cup depending which year we are in.

An election for Football Association of Thailand president will be held on June 17, incumbent president Worawi Makudi said yesterday.

Speaking at a press conference, Worawi said he had appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to overturn a Fifa ruling which booted out Thailand from the current Olympic qualifying.

BANGKOK (4 May 2011) – The FA of Thailand (FAT) will appeal against the decision to eliminate them from the second round of the 2012 Olympic Games qualifiers imposed by the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) Disciplinary Committee.

Thailand were deemed by the AFC to have fielded a suspended player – Sucharit Chanthakul – when they beat Palestine 5-4 on penalties in the first qualifying round.
