I've found a decent quality video of the highlights of Man United's 8-2 destruction of Hangzhou Greentown in the Asia cup. As well as United's free flowing attacking, Hangzhou's inept defending, and Ryan Gigg's immense finishing, the performance of Dimitar Berbatov was the most jaw-dropping aspect of the game.

Well you'd have to think the interest in the game will continue to rise and unlike last time where we went in with some significant debt, you'd imagine with sponsor contracts already locked in and a long lead time, plus a couple of home humdinger friendlies the FFA could make a tidy sum.
And of course we must make the 2011 Asia Cup for the benefit of our 2014 players and there is a bit of work still to be done on that front.

Is this the only sports show where women outnumber men?
Is there any other show about male sports where there are more women than men on tv or the airwaves.
This is un-Australian and should be stopped immediately.
Tonight Lucy Zelic and Michella Bertrand join Aaron Walker on the Nearpost.

It's a bit far-fetched that I must admit, but just drawing an analogy between gaming and the issues facing football

Well Mark Schwarzer made our luck, even saving the 14th minute penalty to be beaten on the rebound. Bad luck to Rhys Williams being forced into a foul to give the penalty. But otherwise Oman botched 4 or so goals - just played too fast for their skill level. Criag Moore was lucky not to have given away a second half hand ball penalty.

Riyas Komu, Stadium I, 2007
Iraq's victory over Saudi Arabia in the 2007 Asia Cup final is likely to hold up as one the decade's most significant wins. The team's victory represented a complex distillation of resistance and anger. The torture and murder of Iraqi athletes is frequently cited in the litany of horrors suffered by the Iraqi people at the hands of Saddam Hussein (see this 2003 Sports Illustrated story).
