The season ended on a high in a sunny North London as Stevenage Borough beat York City 2-0 to win the FA Trophy at Wembley. It was the perfect end to what has been a difficult week for the club. Boro were the dominant force throughout and what could of been a trciky encounter ended up being a walk in the park for Graham Westley's side.

Stevenage continued their recent improvement, brushing aside Eastbourne Borough 2-0 at Broadhall Way. Boro dominated the game throughout and could of won by more had the 3 strikers of Boylan, Cole and Beardsley had their shooting boots on.

Westley named a 4-3-3 formation with Michael Bostwick, Joel Byrom and Stacy Long all starting in midfield.

On the back of Boro's biggest win of the season so far last Saturday, we entertain in-form Salisbury at The Lamex Stadium tomorrow. It may prove to be a tough game however history is on our with 4 wins and one draw in our last 6 meetings. Our last defeat was back in March 2008 when Matt Tubbs scored a last gasp winner to deny Peter Taylor's team from going second in the league at the time.

Stevenage completed their pre-season schedule on a high and go into next week's opener against newly promoted Tamworth brimming with confidence. The double header against Southend and Woking yielded a win and a draw from the two games, but not against the teams that you and I would of expected.

Today was another game where Stevenage were held by opposition you would expect to be beating if your side are serious challengers for promotion. It hasn't been the start that Graham Westley would of been hoping for. After last season started slowly, they ended the campaign strongly to finish the season in the play-offs and it looks like Westley may have to repeat the trick again this season to try and win promotion.

Three goals, three points, a clean sheet and a good performance to go with it as Boro crushed Ebbsfleet 3-0 tonight at Broadhall Way. Graham Westley's side continued their steady improvement and showed a clinical edge in front of goal this evening to win the game and install some confidence into the side ahead of the trip to Oxford on Saturday.

Boro returned to action at Histon just 2 days after the victory over Rushden on Saturday. Graham Westley named a strange side and formation to try and counter the strong, physical Histon threat. Mark Albrighton started alongside Mark Roberts and Jon Ashton while Laird and Henry were given freedom as wing backs.

Next up for Boro is a trip to Field Mill and Mansfield Town. Graham Westley's side are 3 matches unbeaten since the 2-1 defeat at the Kassam Stadium against leaders Oxford United on the 22nd August. Tomorrow's game will be a big test for the team. Down the years, Stevenage never seem to play well or get results at 'big' grounds and Mansfield will be no different.

Stevenage have announced they are to do a tour of the town, parading the FA Trophy won at Wembley on Saturday. The tour will begin at the ground before going down Monkswood Way, St George's Way, Fairlands Way, Lytton Way, around the old town before returning the same way to Broadhall Way. The bus leaves the ground at 4.
