As you would expect, Sir Alex Ferguson has been quick to out Ashley Cole's shin-high tackle on
Javier Hernandez as 'shocking', adding that the Mexican striker is now likely to miss the next
fortnight with a 'numb leg' see what you make of it...
Remarkably, Cole actually was booked for fouling Hernandez in the area, though
somehow escaped a penalty call with referee Phil Dowd stating that the ball had gone out of play a
split-nano second before the Chelsea left-back planted his studs into his opponent's calf.

I respect Sir Alex Ferguson. He's a legend in this beautiful game. Fergie does, however, suffer
from a rather irritable case of selective memory loss.
Example of a poor tackle
Ferguson went on the offensive yesterday afternoon with regard to his young, electric
Mexican.

Pat Nevin is featured on the Official Chelsea Website talking tactics and it's a really good read
and raises plenty of questions. I am not going to paste all of it in here, just the important part
I want to focus on.
When asked about the way we have been playing and the international break, Nevin believes that AVB
has using trial and error up till now, but when the players come back this week, we could see a
different Chelsea side prepared to take plenty of risks to be successful.

Much has been said about the perceived success (or lack of it), of Wenger's ‘Project Youth',
particularly since the move to the Emirates. Arsenal Football Club are now seen as standard bearers
in the development of young professional footballers. But is this accolade warranted or is it a
misnomer?
In an interview that will not go over well in the Chelsea dressing room, Fernando Torres says
that his poor goalscoring record at Chelsea is due to theclub's 'very slow' and 'older'
players.
Torres says that it is the squad's lack of pace and the fact a number of players are approaching
the twilight of their careers as a key reason behind his lack of goals, but has indicated
Villas-Boas is trying to freshen things up.
There isn't any football fan on the planet that cannot fail to be impressed (even if they don't
want to admit it) with the way United and Wayne Rooney have started this season. He has started the
season on fire scoring goals for fun and will no doubt be looking to continue his form against us
this Sunday.

Giovani dos Santos appears to be from the same moral fiber as Ashley Cole, y'all. How
interesting.
A cautionary piece of counsel if we may, Kickettes. Never and we mean ever should anyone be in
the presence of alcohol if their mobile devices are in possession of nude self-portaits.
Why I need convincing these young Lions are ready to snap at the England old guard's
heels
The last members of England's so-called golden generation will not give up their shirts without
a fight. John Terry, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Rio Ferdinand all have their eyes on one last
hurrah in the Euro 2012 finals.
As he walks out to his familiar spot at left-back inside the Vasil Levski Stadium, Sofia,
tonight, Ashley Cole will earn his 90th international cap.
He joins a very select group, with only legends Peter Shilton (125), David Beckham (119), Bobbys
Moore (108) and Charlton (106) and Billy Wright (105) have more.
Is the pursuit of Luka Modric finally over? Reply hazy, try again later.
I initially loved the idea of adding the Croatian to our midfield during the close season. That
idea soured as the summer continued. Missing out on Modric at £40 or so million was proper
business for Chelsea.

Paul Ince has a point! (about England players having questionable attitudes, that is.)
QPR's new full-back Luke Young has spoken about his decision to retire from international
football in 2009, pointing the finger at Fabio Capello in the process.

Saturday's result was important for Chelsea for two reasons. Firstly to keep up with the pace
United and City are setting at the top of the league at the moment, but finally and most
importantly, Chelsea played the best they have this season although still not at 100%, it was much
better and the signs are encouraging.

Balls Out for the UEFA Champions League

Group E:
Chelsea-Leverkusen (Stadium: Stamford Bridge, London): The Blues should win at
home, despite not being quite settled: seems like they're still adjusting to new manager Andre
Villas-Boas, the Fernando Torres situation is still unclear, especially after AVB sat him for the
entire match over the weekend; and it's same old guys at the core of the squad (Frank Lampard, John
Terry, Ashley Cole).
There isn't any football fan on the planet that cannot fail to be impressed (even if they don't

Waiting is for pussies.
Just five weeks into the new season, Andre Villas-Boas' sexy is set to invade the Terrordome.
Football's equivalent of Cary Grant brings with him 450 minutes of competitive managerial
experience with the Chels. Surely that's more than enough to match wits and tailors with one of the
greatest to ever grace a sideline.
Be warriors today, gentlemen.

With over ten minutes left to play this afternoon, Ashley Cole got away with just a yellow card
for a vicious challenge on Javier Hernandez. Phil Dowd opted just to book the defender, although he
certainly should have received a straight red. A penalty wasn't given because the ball had already
gone out of play by the time Cole's studs reached Chicharito.

Stunning strikes, howling misses, gargantuan victories and inexplicable defeats litter the
results this week. But you don't care about that. You care about the nekkid and the
short-tents.
A bit of this will not hurt Arsenal
Five matches into the season and a perfect record. An outpouring of 21 goals with just four
conceded. And the latest, a win over arch rivals Chelsea by a 3-1 margin. Utd are already
separating themselves by their intimidating performances.
His side's effervescent start is still not enough to make Sir Alex happy.
So long, and thanks for all the fish. from The Guardian "We will have to see what the damage is in
the morning but his [Javier Hernández's] leg is very numb and he could be out for a couple of
weeks." As Sir Alex says, we'll see. He was pretty critical of his own players, including Wayne
Rooney, in the interview and seemed to be reaching a bit to keep the motivation high.

We're not entirely sure what findaproperty.com was trying to accomplish with this video
explanation of how wealthy and adulterous EPL footballers are unless, of course, they wanted to
highlight how filthy stinkin' rich Ashley Cole is in comparison to his man-ho predecessor, Jermain
Defoe.

But it wasn't all good news for the winners as striking sensation Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez
was forced out of the game after he suffered a tough challenge from Chelsea's Ashley Cole in front
of goal.
Sir Alex Ferguson described the tackle as "shocking" and "over the edge," also citing that he
couldn't understand why a penalty wasn't giving, as Cole received a yellow card for the challenge
inside the area.
Now the A-league has just two players this year, Harry and Emmo, so it should be more interesting
everyone tells me.
Well with Matthew Leckie, Marcus Flores and others having left who are the fellas who the Nearpost
is particularly looking forward to seeing take to the field in Season 7:
Melbourne Victory - Of course Harry Kewell, but I'm as interested to see how the young Kiwi Marco
Rojas goes.
Bet 365 - Click here for £200 of Free Bets now Manchester United's fine early season form
continued with that dramatic 3-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday at Old Trafford. But sadly, much of the
post-match talk has been dominated by Ashley Cole's reckless challenge on Hernandez. Challenge
isn't the right word - 'assault' would be more accurate.
Manchester United coaching staffs and fans can pretty much breathe a sigh of relief regarding
the condition of their Mexican striker, Javier "Chicarito" Hernandez, who picked up an injury
against Chelsea on the weekend after the latest reports suggested that the striker isn't suffering
from a fracture.
What we learned this week... Andre Villas-Boas and Roberto Mancini talk absolute
nonsense
The Chelsea boss shamelessly excused Ashley Cole's inexcusable foul, while Roberto Mancini
moaned about not having enough players, and how the League Cup can be spiced up

Javier Hernandez is fit to face Stoke at the Britannia this weekend, and that's the last news
that the Potters would have wanted.
Chicarito has scored three goals in two appearances against them and netted in the 27th minutes
in both games.
He was lucky to escape serious injury following Ashley Cole's horror tackle in United's 3-1
defeat of Chelsea, and it was terrific news when the gaffer revealed on Thursday that he was
available for this game.
This guy is happy to be back in the mix. We're happy to have him.
We shall be even happier if he can assist in a comfortable win.

This season has started ridiculously well and you start to wonder whether it's too good to be
true. Five wins in five, despite being presented with a tricky start fixture wise, is a great
achievement for the team.
After the standard of our football getting increasingly worse over the past couple of seasons,
dragging ourselves through away games and putting ourselves in difficult situations on the road,
we're blowing teams away this season.
Fernando Torres loses his fucking mind. Chelsea, meanwhile, don't miss a beat.
God dammit, Fernando
The Chels slash four past Swansea at the Bridge despite playing with ten men for the better part
of 50 minutes. It was pretty much an excellent performance aside from the wretchedness that was
Torres' fist-half, studs-up lunge on Mark Gower at midfield.

It was only when I heard it on Saturday before the Swansea game that I realised we had only kept
one clean sheet in our previous nine Premier League games. Then of course we conceed another
against Swansea which now makes it only one in ten which is unheard of at Chelsea!.
So what or who is the problem?
Our biggest test of the Champions League group stage arrives Wednesday in the form of a trip to
the Estadio Mestalla. Valencia not only bring forth a heavy test for the Chels, but they also
eagerly await the return of a departed son.
Homecoming
Matchday 1 was particularly special to Chelsea supporters for, aside from a win over Bayer
Leverkusen, the return of Michael Ballack to Stamford Bridge.
