1. On that short evidence we can deduce that Stuart Pearce's England would involve the same end
result but with a dash more heroic defiance along the way. 2. Talk about conforming to national
stereotypes. Klaas Jan Huntelaar is waking up with a sore head this morning after consuming too
much grass last night.
Ashley Young has reiterated the point about the importance of experience, claiming that the
likes of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes command respect in the dressing room.
"The younger players have taken over this season, with their music and general
loudness," he said. "But if someone like Ryan Giggs or Paul Scholes starts talking we all
sit down and listen.
There's a general temptation for football observers to pin down players supposedly not
in-form. Forwards, for instance, are regularly maligned if they score less than they
should (see Fernando Torres) and then others are said to be playing well if they have been
scoring at a healthy rate.

Old head's experience to lead is crucial to the cause
The papers are going crazy with this fixture and all the focus is on Arsenal and how the mighty
have fallen. How this is no longer the plum tie of the Premier League season (somehow, I think the
numbers tells a different story), why there's no pizza or pastries being thrown at each other and
why there's no more fights between the two sets of players.
Manchester United made a successful debut onto the Europa League stage winning 2-0 away against
Ajax, in the first leg of the round of 32. United take a comfortable lead back to Old Trafford,
courtesy of second half goals from Ashley Young and Javier Hernandez, but will be without Antonio
Valencia for up to four [.
Newcastle have already had a number off offers for their summer tour. . Ashley and Llambias
getting good press on finances of club Alan Pardew had said that the club has already had offers
from America, the Far East and Europe, but that it hasn't yet been decided where the lads will

Zonal Marking provides a comprehensive look at how Bielsa and Athletic Bilbao's tactics helped play
a large part in defeating Manchester United in the Europa League this past week.
Bielsa, as we know, likes to maintain a spare man at the back. If United were playing a
straight 4-4-2, Bielsa probably would have played three centre-backs instead of the extra central
midfielder that featured here, but because United are actually more like 4-4-1-1, Bielsa could tell
Ander Iturraspe to pick up Rooney, with the spare man retained at the back with 2 v 1 against
Javier Hernandez.

Whyteleafe and Hythe Town had their Ryman Isthmian Football League Division One South match
called off with just half-an-hour played when the referee, one Ashley Slaughter, collapsed after
being stung by a bee.
After being stung in the 31st minute, Slaughter suffered an allergic reaction to being stung by
a bee and recieved medical attention on the pitch from the Hythe physio which caused the match to
be delayed for a further 30 minutes.

Wayne Rooney goal right before half-time was just enough to see off Fulham tonight, and for
United to go three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League with 8 games to
go.
Rooney's goal, his 21st league goal of the season, came after Jonnny Evans at the back post, had
steered Ashley Young's cross back into Rooney's path.
Late goals from Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young fired Manchester United to a 2-0 win at Ewood
Park, opening a 5-point gap at the top of the table. Blackburn had held United at bay for 80
minutes when Antonio Valencia struck a ferocious right footed strike into the far corner of Paul
Robinson's goal, sending [.
You may be aware that some Manchester City fans, in all their wisdom, are claiming there is a
conspiracy to help Manchester United win the league.
When Michael Carrick got away with a foul in the box against Fulham, they were full of it. They
of course forgot that just two days earlier at Stoke Gareth Barry should have conceded a penalty
and been sent off.

Oops he did it again. Very little that can be said to defend or justify Ashley Young's dive. A
fine player, he is rather tarnishing his name with this kind of rubbish.
Then again, after getting away with it against QPR (and the FA refusing to rescind Shaun Derry's
red card), who can blame Young for trying it again.
Manchester United restored their 5-point lead at the top of the Premier League with a 4-0 win over
Aston Villa courtesy of two goals from Wayne Rooney and one apiece from Danny Welbeck and Nani.
Much like in their game against QPR, a controversial penalty incident involving Ashley Young was
the talking point of the [.
1. Ashley Young has taken QPR owner Tony Fernandes' suggestion seriously and is making a genuine
effort to be Tom Daley's diving partner at London 2012. 2. Amid all the heightened security
presence in the Falklands, the UK took its eyes off the ball and Norwich fell prey to some
impressive Argentinian attacks on Saturday.
TweetIn the wake of yet another diving scandal Manchester United winger Ashley Young has been
lambasted by pundits as well as fellow professionals. The vertigo-suffering winger took another
plunge to earn his side a seventh minute penalty during Manchester United's match with Aston Villa
on Sunday. Wayne Rooney dispatched the spot-kick and United duly went [.
Even Fergie is calling Ashley a big tutu-wearin' diver, so it must be bad. (Though do make sure
to note one can dive while the penalty is deserved.) Ashley's aerial acrobatics have earned
headlines of recent, particularly against QPR, but the way he vaulted his body against Aston Villa
this weekened put the video editing internet community on high alert.
Following a series of incidents that have drawn accusations of blatant diving and scorn from
fans around the world, Manchester United winger Ashley Young has admitted failure in his attempt to
design rocket-propelled football boots.
"When I joined Manchester United, I knew I had to improve my game," Young told reporters.
Ashley Young has been earning himself quite the reputation the past few weeks, but it's a
reputation that will ultimately come back to haunt both him and Manchester United in the future.
There is a reason that he is allowed ...

A huge game today with Sunderland vs Man United and Man United looking for 3 points to keep the
pressure on City. If United win here and City don't beat QPR then the Premier League will be
heading to Old Trafford again, but if City win then United can't overtake them in the league unless
they are to amazingly beat Sunderland by 8 or 9 goals, unfortunately this is unlikely to happen for
the club.

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish insists that striker Darren Bent will not be sold in the transfer
window.
Following his team's 3-1 victory away to Chelsea in which Bent scored the third goal after
appearing as a substitute, he told reporters: "He won't be leaving."
The England international has been linked with a move to Liverpool after exit rumours intensified
when he was photographed out shopping during his team's 2-0 defeat to the Reds.
Liverpool is preparing a £24 million bid for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent as they seek to put
an end to their low-scoring ways.
The Reds have found the net just 24 times in their 19 Premier League matches this season. Leaders
Manchester City has scored more in nine away fixtures.
Bent as the ideal solution to the problem and is set to test Villa's resolve with a bid.
Liverpool is making progress on establishing grounds to negotiate a deal for Birmingham City winger
Nathan Redmond, who is being valued at £10 million by the midlands club.
Redmond has 2 years remaining on his current deal at St. Andrew's, but has recently attracted
interest from Manchester City and other Premier League clubs.
Paul Scholes has amazingly come out of retirement and will play for Manchester United until the
end of the season it has been announced today.
Rumours has been circulating that Scholes had told some United players that he'd be willing to
return to the club after retiring at the end of last season, but he was reluctant to go directly to
the United manager.
1. Well, that was piss easy, wasn't it? Hmm. What should have been a walk in the part for United
following the first half was worryingly more difficult than it needed to be, but we got the result
and that's all that matters. United have knocked our local rivals, our noisy neighbours, and
current holders, Manchester City, out of the FA Cup at their own ground.
The January transfer window is half way through, and, after the past two windows saw Liverpool
one of the most active participants, it's been surprisingly quiet for a side lacking both midfield
steel and finishing touch who before the season began set a return to Champions League action as
the minimum requirement.
Injured Manchester United players Ashley Young and Darren Fletcher made it a family day out to
Old Trafford on Saturday.
Ashley brought his adorable 5-year-old son Tyler to United's match against Bolton, although
Tyler probably just played Transformers or dinosaurs in the on-site creche while daddy hobnobbed
with the big fellas.

defeat to Brighton in an enthralling FA Cup third-round replay.
Craig Mackail-Smith scored the decisive penalty after Peter Brezovan had denied Dean Keates to set

Wayne Rooney and Nani have trained for the last two days and will be in the squad for Chelsea.
Ashley Young should also be included and there is the possibility that Tom Cleverley will be too.
It is more likely that Tom will next play for the Reserves against Chelsea on Monday but he will
travel with the squad this weekend.

1. At the start of the day I'd have taken a point at Stamford Bridge. We never win there,
regardless of which team goes in to the game in better form, so a draw is a decent enough result.
Don't forget that City lost there a few weeks ago, so despite some of their drag performances this
season, Chelsea are still the 4th best team in the country.
