1. At the start of the day I'd have taken a point at Stamford Bridge. We never win there,
regardless of which team goes in to the game in better form, so a draw is a decent enough result.
Don't forget that City lost there a few weeks ago, so despite some of their drag performances this
season, Chelsea are still the 4th best team in the country.
Wayne Rooney and Nani have trained for the last two days and will be in the squad for Chelsea.
Ashley Young should also be included and there is the possibility that Tom Cleverley will be too.
It is more likely that Tom will next play for the Reserves against Chelsea on Monday but he will
travel with the squad this weekend.

Old head's experience to lead is crucial to the cause
The papers are going crazy with this fixture and all the focus is on Arsenal and how the mighty
have fallen. How this is no longer the plum tie of the Premier League season (somehow, I think the
numbers tells a different story), why there's no pizza or pastries being thrown at each other and
why there's no more fights between the two sets of players.
Wrexham were denied a lucrative tie with Newcastle United after a heartbreaking penalty shoot-out
defeat to Brighton in an enthralling FA Cup third-round replay.
Craig Mackail-Smith scored the decisive penalty after Peter Brezovan had denied Dean Keates to set
up a fourth-round home clash against Alan Pardew's Newcastle.
Injured Manchester United players Ashley Young and Darren Fletcher made it a family day out to
Old Trafford on Saturday.
Ashley brought his adorable 5-year-old son Tyler to United's match against Bolton, although
Tyler probably just played Transformers or dinosaurs in the on-site creche while daddy hobnobbed
with the big fellas.
The January transfer window is half way through, and, after the past two windows saw Liverpool
one of the most active participants, it's been surprisingly quiet for a side lacking both midfield
steel and finishing touch who before the season began set a return to Champions League action as
the minimum requirement.
1. Well, that was piss easy, wasn't it? Hmm. What should have been a walk in the part for United
following the first half was worryingly more difficult than it needed to be, but we got the result
and that's all that matters. United have knocked our local rivals, our noisy neighbours, and
current holders, Manchester City, out of the FA Cup at their own ground.
Paul Scholes has amazingly come out of retirement and will play for Manchester United until the
end of the season it has been announced today.
Rumours has been circulating that Scholes had told some United players that he'd be willing to
return to the club after retiring at the end of last season, but he was reluctant to go directly to
the United manager.
Liverpool is making progress on establishing grounds to negotiate a deal for Birmingham City winger
Nathan Redmond, who is being valued at £10 million by the midlands club.
Redmond has 2 years remaining on his current deal at St. Andrew's, but has recently attracted
interest from Manchester City and other Premier League clubs.
Liverpool is preparing a £24 million bid for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent as they seek to put
an end to their low-scoring ways.
The Reds have found the net just 24 times in their 19 Premier League matches this season. Leaders
Manchester City has scored more in nine away fixtures.
Bent as the ideal solution to the problem and is set to test Villa's resolve with a bid.
Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish insists that striker Darren Bent will not be sold in the transfer
window.
Following his team's 3-1 victory away to Chelsea in which Bent scored the third goal after
appearing as a substitute, he told reporters: "He won't be leaving."
The England international has been linked with a move to Liverpool after exit rumours intensified
when he was photographed out shopping during his team's 2-0 defeat to the Reds.

Wayne Rooney started United's Champions League quarter-finals against Chelsea
with a bang, putting us 1-0 up with less than 25 minutes played. A great spot from Carrick to find
Giggs, a wonderful first touch from Giggs to beat his man, before Rooney opened his body up
perfectly to slot the ball past Cech.

Cassius Barton and the weirdest football players' baby names
Joey Barton has caused eye-rolling at the registrar's office by naming his baby son Cassius.
It's a tribute from the boxing fan to legend Muhammad Ali, who was born Cassius Clay, and hey it's
better than calling him Ashley, Nietschze, Cigar or McDonald.

Despite picking up three points following a 5-0 win at Craven Cottage, United fans were left
disappointed by the news that Phil Jones had probably broken his cheekbone and would be out for six
weeks. He has been brilliant in the centre of our midfield and the idea of having to go a month or
more without him in the team was gutting, particularly in light of all the other injuries we
currently have.
Ashley Young is set for a spell on the sidelines, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are both out, and
Phil Jones could join them as well, but Manchester United are still humming along after a 5-0 win
yesterday at Craven ... Continue reading →
Not the president of Kramerica Enterprises....
This time the chalkboards do tell the tale.
Fulham played a 4-2-4 defense and engaged Manchester United's "back-six" with their "front-six."
It was a good strategy despite the ending scoreline of 5-0. Sir Alex Ferguson recognized it as
such, pulling off a woozy Phil Jones (from an early Clint Dempsey elbow) and adding in another
attacker in Ashley Young to provide central linking while moving Antonio Valencia to rightback.
When asked about interest from Manchester City this summer, Ashley Young has admitted they
wanted to sign him, although he had no interest in joining them once Manchester United made a move
for him.
"That's true, but as soon as I heard about Manchester United there was no other club for
me," said Young.
1. Well that was just the kind of performance we needed following the devastating result in
Basel this week. We passed the ball around well and at long last put away a good number of the
chances we created. Only Swansea have a worse away record than Wolves though and after playing
them, it is obvious why.
As a United fan, I must say life has been pretty dull of late. I don't remember the last time we
scored more than one goal in a game (of course I remember the 8-2. Shameless Plug
alert) or winning a game when we did go ahead and score 2 or 3. Not winning is definitely
a bummer, especially when it closely follows home-ground hammerings at the hands of the rich, evil
super-villain (also note lack of plug here).
Ashley Young has reflected on his move to Manchester United, following the 1-0 win against his
former club Aston Villa at the weekend.
"They don't come much bigger than Manchester United," said Young. "I have always
had confidence in my own ability and the club had enough confidence to sign me.
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
Overwhelming Relief
Well then. That was something, now wasn't it? If you're looking for high-octane end-to-end
stuff, this was the place to be. If you're looking for lots of shots, this was the venue. If you
were looking for improvement, this was certainly a good place to start.
They obviously can't be bothered, so neither can I. It was a positive line-up, but Utd never
needed to get out of 1st gear. McLeish must be giving out his instructions in Russian or something
because he's managed to make some very capable players look like they haven't the first clue what
they're doing.
Ashley Botts (Beloit) has perfectly combined success in athletics and academics.
The Grand Valley State (Mich.) junior forward was named the Capital One Academic All-America of
the Year for NCAA Division II women's soccer.
Botts, a biology major, has a 3.64 grade-point average and is the leading scorer for the
top-ranked Lakers (20-0-4), who will play St.

Why Villa fans must get off McLeish's back
De Gea must bulk up and wise up if he's to be United's No.1 Blame Mancini for City's Champions
League flop Alex McLeish is a good manager, a pragmatist and will get it right at Aston Villa.
Trouble is, what is the definition of getting it right?
This is not an attempt to absolve anyone of any blame for the unacceptable performance at White
Hart Lane last night, but it's become painfully obvious to me in the last 18 months or so that in
the fans' eyes it's players that win games... and managers that lose them.
Let me give you an example:
Towards the end of last season, in what would be Gerard Houllier's final game on the sidelines, we
took on the hapless West Ham at Upton Park.
As we mentioned the other day, Adidas' boot with a brain is now with us. The f50 miCoach monitors
the performance of the wearer during matches using a speed cell inserted under the insole of the
boot. OTP has already received its boots (see photo below), so now lesser mortals such as Lionel
Messi, David [.

Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote is rumoured to be on Chelsea's shopping list for January
with supposedly a £20m bid in the offing. But would Ashley sell him? The latest news from the
rumour-filled world of Toon speculation has Chelsea considering a £20m bid for Cheick Tiote in
January.
Who's in your starting XI for England's first Euro 2012 game?
After two fielding two experimental line-ups in the friendlies against Spain and Sweden, Fabio
Capello is hopefully further along to knowing the identities of his first XI for England's opening
game of Euro 2012 next June.
Various XI's isn't there for us to pick out our favourite footballers of all time, it's there
make us struggle. This week we set ourselves the task of picking eleven footballers with the
surname 'King' to fill out a team sheet. GK:Bryan King Thought by most Millwall fans as The Lions

Why Wembley fans must not boo young Lions against Spain
Newcastle have found their Moyes, but Ashley won't hold onto him Why Stoke's humiliation gave me
the giggles This week could see the fulfillment of a lifetime's ambition for four young
Englishman. But before Daniel Sturridge, Kyle Walker and Jack Rodwell get too carried away with the
prospect of making their international debuts against Spain or Sweden, and Danny Welbeck on
starting his first England game, they should speak to four others who stood in their shoes a year
ago.
Why Stoke's humiliation gave me the giggles
Why Wembley fans must not boo young Lions against Spain Newcastle have found their Moyes, but
Ashley won't hold onto him Stoke's 5-0 trouncing by Bolton, which reversed the scoreline from
last year's FA Cup semi-final, must have left their fans feeling desolate.
After the uproar of the announcement this morning and much discussion with the lads at work, I've
come to the feeling that Ashley has completely lost any trust that he has managed to claw back over
the past few months. As a previous nufcblog.org article has already pointed out, Derek Llambias has
previously gone on [.
