Anfield Talk 29 October @ 01:55 PM EST
Liverpool were eliminated from the League Cup due to a 2-1 loss sustained at Arsenal's Ashburton
Grove home, but Rafael Benitez has insisted that the defeat will not dilute the feel-good factor
that engulfed Anfield following the Manchester United win at the weekend.
Pass-master Fran Merida opened the scoring in the first-half with a long-range effort, but the
visitors levelled the game with an equally impressive shot from Emiliano Insua.

Liverpool full-back, Emiliano Insua, 20, is looking to add to his midweek goal - a sensational
long-range volley struck against Arsenal in the fourth round of the League Cup at Ashburton
Grove.
The burgeoning Argentinean, who has one international cap, was delighted to ripple the net in the
first half, despite his side going on to lose 2-1 due to a second half Nicklas Bendtner effort.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is convinced the Gunners season will be won or lost at Emirates
Stadium.
Arsenal are currently the leading scorers in the English top flight, having smashed 10 goals in
their past two home games maintaining a 100% record at Ashburton Grove.
Wenger is in no doubt of the importance of continued strong performances in front of the
60,000-strong Gunners faithful, with north-London rivals Tottenham the next league visitors at the
end of the month.

Which Gallas will show up?
Today see the visit of Birmingham to Ashburton Grove. The incident 2 seasons ago at St. Andrew's
will no doubt still rankles in the mind of all Arsenal fans. The Eduardo broken leg incident
brought about sad memories of that particular season. First for the bad injury that the Brazilian
suffered at the hand (or legs) of Martin Taylor but more importantly, it was the start of which
Arsenal lost the impetus for the Premier League title.

Hark back to 2006. It was the first season at The Grove and despite many more tickets being on sale
on a match-by-match basis, many gooners couldn't get a ticket to watch their club in the plush new
stadium. It was nigh on impossible for Red members to get a ticket.
In those times, we couldn't buy a home draw in the Carling cup.

Yesterday I asked for the team to show how good they can be, and they did. The 2-0 scoreline
does Olympiakos a favour, they were under the cosh for 99% of the game and the movement, speed and
creativity you get from Arsenal at their very best lit up Ashburton Grove last night. The 60 odd
thousand people in the stadium got a real glimpse of football at its most beautiful.

Arsenal kicked-off match day two of their Champions League campaign with a tie against FC Porto of
Portugal. The Gooners inside Ashburton Grove anticipated a much improved encounter than the poor
performance and 3 points dropped against Premier League newcomers Hull City last weekend. Arsene
Wenger's 'sweeping changes' involved replacing Emmanuel Eboue with Samir Nasri, other than [.

Not going to talk about the embarassing display on the pitch. We all know it was sh*t and not good
enough. Aside from the match, I am angry, really angry about the ticketing situation that saw two
Hull muppets get seats in the middle of the North Bank upper yesterday. When Hull scored, they
showed themselves and [.

60 games after coming to Ashburton Grove, the Emirates effect finally wore off. It was a result
that no-one saw coming, but after the lethargic first half performance, it became a self fulfilling
prophecy. It is not as though Arsenal invited this defeat as much as they contrived to lose the
game through a failure to [.

Arsenal have targeted Celtic's chief executive Peter Lawwell, and it appears that he's the current
favourite to replace already-departed Keith Edelman according to The Daily Telegraph. Edelman had
held the job since 2000 and was instrumental in steering the club through its move from its old
home Highbury to its new Emirates Stadium at Ashburton Grove.

Goodness me, Alexander Hleb was really itching to get out of the exit door at Ashburton Grove

move that .
