In looking back at 2011, in my capacity as a particularly grizzled campaigner of many seasons,
I've decided to pick out some highs and lows that have stuck in my Peroni-soaked mind,
Arsenalistically speaking.
We started 2011 very much in the title race and in contention for all four trophies and early on
that year my favourite goal of the season was scored.
I'm sure I'm not alone in being fed-up from a fortnight of friendly fixtures, looking forward to a
return to league competition as the Bulls visit Rio Tinto tomorrow night. I am, though, still quite
giddy over the sight of Henry lifting the Emirates Cup on the pitch at Ashburton Grove this past
Sunday.
It's turned out to be something of a landmark week in the history of our great club. So much so
that our first win since we were all small microbes in the sea appears to be a distant memory. The
ownership of the club has altered this week and we now know that that process was precipitated
somewhat by the sad death of Danny Fiszman.
Coming off the back of two highly satisfying away wins the Arsenal now have a run of six home
games out of the next seven.
At our last home game great joy was had by ITV's cameramen in capturing the negative reactions
of the Ashburton Grove support to our number 23's struggles to impose himself on the game.
Following on from the news broken by Wrighty7 that the former Newell's Old Boys has agreed a 5
year contract with the Ashburton Grove team AA has gained exclusive access to an interview
conducted with the pocket sized maestro and his agent Jorge Mendes explaining the reasons for his
departure from the team newly sponsored by the Al Thani family of Qatar.
