A host of the nation's brightest young things arrived in Canberra today for a four-day camp.
It's the final selection camp for under-17s coach Robbie Hooker, (yes, this is where he is after
deciding not to re-apply for the Canberra United job) picks his team to play in ASEAN Cup in
October and then hopefully AFC Championships in November.
So to think, at the end of next week we'll be halfway through the season and then things will
really start to get interesting. But in this short season, have Canberra United already left their
run too late, despite notching up their first win in Round 4? And have the Mariners already secured
their spot in the finals thanks to a rampaging 5-1 win over Newcastle?
A look at results in competitive games or 'proper' friendlies under Benny Dollo.

So first of all, apologies for the lack of posts this week but have been struck down by unfortunate
case of killer flu. Next week will (hopefully) be back to normal. But before then we have a whole
of Round 4 to go and it's going to provide some crackers. Just thinking of last year's game between
Canberra United and Melbourne Victory makes me all wistful for the amazing talent that is Amy
Chapman, I can still picture her wonder-scross that curled in over Melissa Barbieri that ended up
being the winner in the 93rd minute.
