Our latest guest post comes from Adam Orton, one half of Debra Orton Illustration - bloggers and
sellers of limited edition football print artwork and proud Highbury residents. It may surprise
watchers of Match of the Day that Norwich City's current successes are far from a novelty in the
history of the club and here, Adam takes an entertaining look back to a previous occasion when the
Norfolk club ascended out of Hades.
It is time for this month's visit to Primrose Hill Ramblers to catch up with Mungo McCrackas. Or
rather, it would be, but he's not there. Having been saved from a certain death at the hands of a
CIA firing squad by the intervention of the powers-that-be at the Premier League, Mungo is finally
on the cusp of fulfilling his potential.

If, like me, you consider car (and perfume) adverts to be little more than pretentious
audio/visual litter then this may not be your cup of tea.
That said, Audi's pre-El Clasico (I think I'm right in saying they sponsor both Barcelona and
Real Madrid in some capacity) viral has a really nice pay-off after a few minutes of obligatory
slow motion a huge piece of football artwork that you'd think they'd have made a bit more of,
rather than just flashing it up on the screen for a split-second at the end.
In May, Upper Deck Authenticated launched "Suite One-of-One" offering the public one-of-a-kind
collectibles from top athletes like LeBron James, Derrick Rose and others. And now the company has
added some compelling new items that are sure to have people talking.
Upper Deck released a popular trading card set called Goodwin Champions featuring painted images
of top athletes for the trading cards this year.
Recherché football, vibrant collectiveness, reflection, and music looking back to the

In my opinion, the greatest opportunity football has, in its position as the heart of sport and
even culture in general, is promoting an appreciation for the game in unlikely places.
You have probably seen the artwork of Brent Diskin before, but we wanted to pay
special homage to some of his work. Enjoy!
Brent was recently featured in a segment on KPTV. You can check out a large
collection of Brent's artwork on his website brentdiskin.

PORTLAND, Ore. The Portland Timbers and Alaska Airlines invite soccer fans to create artwork to
adorn a Boeing 737-700 in a "Paint the Plane" contest. The Timbers-branded plane will be revealed
this spring during the club's 2011 debut Major League Soccer season. Fans can download the plane's

Your correspondent got himself all excited this week when he read an internet rumour (it must be
true!) that none other than Diego Maradona was on his was to the North West to discuss taking the
vacant manager's chair at Blackburn Rovers. The mind boggles!
Blackburn are, of course, the last team from outside "The Big Four" to win the Premier
League.
I am back in the States less than 24 hours and my MYSQL database melts, conveniently after I had
just completed a massive tome on Mario Balotelli. Yes, that Mario Balotelli. The tech
support stinks, I have to restart WP all over again, and apparently I am supposed to "back things
up." But where I come from, "backing things up" involves certain dance moves that are NSFW and
would probably burn your eyes.
