More than 25 local art groups and societies are making last minute preparations before taking part
in a big open day at the Cliffs Pavilion in Westcliff on Sunday (6th).
It's a chance to have a chat with representatives of various drama, music, poetry, photography,
visual arts and craft groups and find out more about what they do in the Southend area.
This weekend (11/12/13 Sep) Southend plays host to its first ever Polish Arts Festival.
Around 3,000 people originally from Poland are estimated to live in Southend and surrounding areas,
and the Essex town is twinned with Sopot - a Polish coastal resort on the Baltic Sea.
Over the weekend around 10 activities are taking place across the borough.
A brilliant, innovative and genuinely exciting arts project has hit Southend.
The former water works building on North Road has been completely transformed into a huge space for
emerging artists to work and display their talents.
CoExist Arts run by Emma Emmerton and Amy McKenny is a fairly new project, founded in 2008.
