Well that wasn't fun was it? Maybe for about 15 minutes it was but the rest of the game was hard to watch. Here is the braveKenny Palmerwith his report of the game.
Andre Villas-Boas Spurs suffered a resounding 5-2 defeat in the Portuguese managers first North London Derby in a game defined by the sending off of Togolese international Emmanuel Adebayor.
With transfer deadline approaching fast this Friday, Gareth Johnson givesÂ
THFC1882 his unique and funny viewpoint of who the likely
candidates are to leave and how he would approach the job:
Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur, Saturday 17th November 2012, Emirates Stadium, 12.45pm kick off SS2, HD & Sky3D
So here we are, our first game of the season against our North London foes in Red and who knows what to expect anymore. After the last few games and with a quarter of the season gone we are still largely inconsistent and unpredictable.
Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur, Sunday 11th November, Eithad Stadium, 1.30pm kick off SS1, HD & Sky 3D
So after a moral boasting and much needed victory Thursday night against Slovenian champions Maribor in the Europa League, we turn our attention back to the domestic league with a hard trip to current Barclays Premier League champions Manchester City.
A bad week got a lot worse as Spurs put in an awful team display to lose at home to Wigan after they were knocked out of the Capital Cup by Norwich earlier in the week.Kenny Palmerlooks at where we went wrong and how external factors aren't helping the club at present.
Tottenham deservedly slumped to their second home defeat in the league, in the process suffering back to back home defeats in the league for the first time since 2008, while also failing to score for the first time in thirty home league games in by far our worst performance of the season to a Wigan side that were superior in every department.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Wigan Athletic, Saturday 3rd November 2012, White Hart Lane, 3pm kick off
After another mixed results and performance week from the boys and a golden opportunity was wasted on Wednesday night in the Capital Cup to advance to the quarter final stage of the competition.
Southampton vs Tottenham Hotspur, Sunday 28th October, St Mary's Stadium, 3pm kick off
So as we approach our game with Southampton on Sunday it has been a bit of a mixed week for us. The loss against Chelsea was deserved but there were still some positives that came out of it, namely spirit and unity but the draw against Maribor was a tad disappointing.
After a spirited but rightful unrewarding performance against the European ChampionsKenny Palmerreviews the game and other issues that came out of it regarding Kyle Walker.
Andre Villas-Boas was denied his redemption and revenge as Roberto Di Matteo's Chelsea confirmed their status as the Barclays Premier leagues pace setters with a deserved win over Tottenham, although a 4-2 score line was flattering for the visitors.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea, Saturday 20th October, White Hart Lane, 12,45 kick off SS2, SSHD2 & SKY3D
The International break is over and it's now time to get back to the business of Premier League football as we turn our attention to the visit of reigning European and F A Cup champions Chelsea.
After our 4th consecutive victoryAdam Nathanreflects on the match and the key points that came out of it.
Andre Villas-Boas' men continued their excellent run of form with a fourth consecutive victory on Sunday, this time beating Paul Lambert's well drilled Aston Villa side 2-0, with both goals coming midway through the second half.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa, Sunday 7th October 2012, White Hart Lane, 3pm kick off
So after the massive high of Old Trafford last Saturday, we had an indifferent performance last night in the Europa League against Panathinaikos. Andre Villas-Boas made his intentions very clear by selecting the team that he did but unfortunately it seemed the players weren't on the same page for this match.
If you are in any doubt and still can't quite believe it the scoreline is correct. Andre Villas-Boas and the boys went to Old Trafford and had no fear, as after all long standing records are meant to be broken right?
Here'sKenny Palmerwith the review of the thrilling game on Saturday:
Andre Villas-Boas's Tottenham put an end to the 23 year Old Trafford hoodoo and also sent out a statement of intent with an impressive away win against last season's Premiership runners-up Manchester United.
Manchester Utd vs Tottenham Hotspur, Saturday 29th September 2012, Old Trafford, 5.30pm kick off ESPN & ESPN HD
After grinding out a win against QPR last weekend and seeing off a potential cup shock in midweek against Carlisle we now have the daunting task of visiting Old Trafford to face United.
So I believe the term that sums it up best after the game on Sunday is that we got away with one.
After a dreadful first half display in which we were rightly trailing at the break, we have to give Andre Villa-Boas and the players due credit for turning it around in the second half and getting our first home win of the campaign.
Tottenham Hotspur vs QPR, Sunday 23rd September 2012, White Hart Lane, 4pm kick off
After another impressive display against Lazio in the Europa League on Thursday night, one which should have got us 3 points if it wasn't for some indifferent and questionable refereeing, we get back to league action as we welcome QPR to the Lane on Sunday.
After a great display to come with our first victory of the seasonKenny Palmerreflects on the win on Sunday.
A Jermain Defoe brace capping off an excellent individual display upfront by the diminutive striker helped Andre Villas-Boas's Tottenham to their first win of the season.
Reading vs Tottenham Hotspur, Sunday 16th September 2012, Majeski Stadium, 4pm kick off, SS1 & HD plus Sky3D After a disappointing team display against Norwich we now get back to business with a tough visit to Reading after the International break. Kenny Palmer gives us his preview: The visit to the Madejski Stadium against promoted [.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Norwich City, Saturday 1st September, White Hart Lane, 3pm kick
off
So after 2 decent performances to start the season, with only 1 point to show for it, we welcome
our former Spurs player Chris Hughton and his Norwich team to the Lane on Saturday.
Kenny Palmer gives us his match report from Saturday's first league home game
of the season:
An injury time goal by West Brom's James Morrison denied Andre Villas-Boas's new look Tottenham
victory in the Portuguese's manager's first game in charge at the Lane.
Tottenham Hotspur vs West Bromich Albion, Saturday 25th August 2012, White Hart Lane,
3pm kick-off
After a disappointing result at Newcastle, even with a decent performance to start the season,
the boys return to the Lane to have their first home game. THFC1882Â welcomes
back Kenny Palmer to preview the West Brom game:
After a disappointing opening day result with positives at St James Park, Gareth
Johnson shares with THFC1882 his thoughts on the match as he watched from
the stands and what lies ahead this season for us.
The opening day of any season is always special for me.
Newcastle Utd vs Tottenham Hotspur, St James's Park, Saturday 18th August 2012, 5.30pm
ko, ESPN & ESPN HD
So the day that excites nearly all football fans the most has finally arrived as we kick off our
campaign at the team that most said over achieved last season by finishing 5th level on points with
us.
The season is done and dusted, 4th place it is then but as we know because of Chelsea's antics
in the Champions League final we have no Champions League football down at the Lane next season. Â
What impact this will have to the squad, with players in and out, is unknown for the time being,
but that is discussion for another day, along with a whole host of subjects that this blog will try
and delve into over the summer months.
So here it is. Last day of the season and the all important game that could decide a variety of
issues as we go into the summer. Manager, players in and out and if we are dining at the big boys
table next season. To be honest, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this thinking, I'm truly
disappointed that 3rd place isn't signed, sealed and confirmed already and this game being the
celebration of that for the Spurs faithful.
The season is nearly over and as we go into our penultimate game of the season the
Champions League qualification spot is still up for grabs as is 3rd place! THFC1882 is pleased have
Mike Hooley back to preview the game.
Following a very encouraging 4-1 victory on Wednesday night away at Bolton, which itself came
hot on the heels of a home win against Wanderers' fellow Lancashire relegation candidates
Blackburn, Spurs face a third team threatened with relegation on Sunday afternoon.
A trademark performance from 2 months ago leaves Tottenham Hotspur right in the hunt for
Champions League football still. 2 wins down, 2 to go. Adam Nathan reflects on the match from last
night.
Let's take a vote. At 1-1 last night, was there anyone who thought that Spurs, our Spurs, with
two wins in ten miserable outings, would pick themselves up, transform into the players we all know
they can be and dismantle a spirited Bolton on a ground that we had never recorded a league
win?
One win down, 3 to go. Do we have our Tottenham Hotspur back? Â Kenny Palmer reviews
Sunday's game.
A restorative performance and win against an abject Blackburn lifted Tottenham back to the
coveted 4th place in the league.
Tottenham welcomed back Younes Kaboul and Emmanuel Adebayor from injury while Sandro came in for
the injured Scott Parker as Harry Redknapp setup the team in the favoured 4-4-1-1 formation which
has produced Spurs best displays this season.
After another disappointing performance and outcome for Tottenham Hotspur Ciaran Griggs
steps up to give THFC1882 his report and thoughts.
Sigh. We can't go on like this.
Spurs continued their alarming run of form with a dismal 1-0 defeat to QPR. Coming into the
match, Spurs were expected to arrest their slide against one of the Premier League's new boys.
Queens Park Rangers vs Tottenham Hotspur, Saturday 21st  April, Loftus Road, 530pm kick
off ESPN 1 & HD
THFC1882 is very thankful to Ciaran Griggs who has the unenviable task after last
Sunday's game, of previewing the massively important QPR match this Saturday evening.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea, Sunday 15th April, Wembley Stadium, 6pm kick off,
ITV1
THFC1882 asks Kenny Palmer for his preview and thoughts on the match that could dictate
the rest of Tottenham's season.
To misquote the lyrics of Ossie's dream Spurs are on their way to Wembley their knees have gone
all trembley, could be referring to the teams recent performances in a dreadful run of 1 win in 8
as they come into Sunday's pivotal game.
The Easter programme didn't bring much joy to most Tottenham Hotspur supporters as we only
managed to get 1 point from the 6 that were on offer. We have now let the surprise package of the
season Newcastle Utd catch us with Chelsea laying in wait for any further mistakes in the race for
Champions League qualification.
