Paying lip service to RVP Arsenal keeper and all-round character Wojciech Szczesny celebrated the

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has responded to rumors linking the Gunners with French midfielder
Yoann Gourcuff. Despite a dazzling array of skills, Wenger insists that he's not interested in
signing Gourcuff in the January transfer window, and instead pointed to the return of some of his
star players such as Jack Wilshere.
At this stage of the season and given how well the club has done since that awful start to the
season, the last news you would want to read is that we're going to be patient with the contract of
Robin Van Persie. This is our captain, our inspiration and quite literally has dragged us all the
way up the table.
It may only be the 3rd round, but the FA Cup's draw has produced some real crackers.
Sixty-four sides still have the potential to reach Wembley on cup final day, and 32 matches will
be played to see who progresses into the fourth round.
Here are five of the best ties to look out for:
Birmingham v Wolves
This Black Country derby isn't possible in the top flight this year following City's relegation
last season, but the Blues have done well both domestically and on the continent under Chris
Hughton.
All the latest Arsenal transfer news on the grapevie this morning is concerning the possible loan
move for Thierry Henry after Arsene Wenger admitted that a short-term (6 week) signing would be
"ideal", but there is still much discussion before the New York Red Bulls would consider giving
permission for that to happen.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed that midfielder Abou Diaby is again injured and will be out
for at least ten days. Speaking to Arsenal Player as well as in his pre-Wigan press conference, the
Frenchman explained ...
One-Nil to the Arsenal seems like an apt score to mark the 125th anniversary of the club,
although there is an argument it doesn't really represent the Arsene Wenger era.
This game was anything but typical though. David Moyes took a surprisingly brave approach and
attacked Arsenal from the kick-off.
I know many people reading the headline of this article will probably think that I have gone
completely crackers.
Damn, a little part of me even thinks so too.
But there is another part of me, deep down, that truly believes that Fernando Torres would flourish
at Arsenal, under Arsene Wenger.
Betting Preview: Robin van Persie to lead Arsenal to a win over Manchester City? - originally

Even after suffering their first defeat of the Premier League season, Manchester City still sit
atop the Premier League table, but archrivals and reigning league champions Manchester United are
only two points behind and ready to pounce, and Tottenham, Chelsea, and Arsenal can‘t be
dismissed at this juncture.
That feeling of joy
Another 3 points in the bag that puts us level on points with Chelsea and just 2 points behind
Tottenham, until their match tonight at least. Not the most accomplished of performance you will
ever see from Arsene Wenger's Arsenal side but don't let anyone tell you that we didn't deserve to
get all 3 points from this game.
Good morning to you. I hope you're all set for tomorrow, dinner wrapped, presents cooked, and
all that.
The action continues though and as we prepare for our festive football fare the manager is
mulling (eh? EH?!) over some possible recruitments as our squad, already quite stretched, gets set
to lose a couple more players.
Why is the boss only interested in you and not me?
The Arsenal world has gone mad for Thierry Henry. No, it's not 2007. You don't have to put on
your reading glasses, you read it correctly the first time. Arsene Wenger released this statement
and debate rages on everywhere about it. When it comes to this man, the judgement can be
clouded.
Thierry Henry has agreed to rejoin Arsenal on a two-month loan deal from New York Red Bulls, Arsene
Wenger has confirmed.
The former Gunners captain, who left the club for Barcelona in 2007, has been training at London
Colney during the Major League Soccer off-season and has impressed Wenger who is looking for
short-term cover while Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh are away on Africa Cup of Nations Duty.
Liverpool have enjoyed a decent spell of form in recent weeks and manager Kenny Dalglish is
determined to keep the momentum going by brining in reinforcements in January.
The Kop boss is reportedly interested in Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Jadson who was close to
sealing a move to the Premier League in the summer when Arsenal were linked with the Brazilian.

When Liverpool signed Andy Carroll for £35m, I'm sure the expectation amongst many fans was that
he would be starting most games for the club. It hasn't worked out that way, and the former
Newcastle man is spending more and more time on the bench.
Most managers would receive major flack for keeping the most expensive British player of all time
on the bench, and many would (probably) be fearful of invoking the ire of the board, which would
obviously want to see some return on investment.
Other than the games played in preseason, this certainly shapes up to be the least important outing
of the season. We're heading to Greece to take on Olympiakos in the final match of the group stages
of the Champions League. But fortunately for us, we already have first place wrapped up, so there's
no need to wear out our main players in this one.
With Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly keen to swoop for the 95-cap German forward when the January
transfer window re-opens at the end of this month, Lukas Podolski has reiterated that his future at
FC Cologne is undecided.
The Germany international scored both goals as Cologne salvaged a 2-2 draw at Stuttgart yesterday
and, speaking afterwards, implied that his future plans were far from settled.
It was an exciting end to Champions League qualification in Group F as Leaders Arsenal slumped
to a shock 3-1 away defeat to Olympiakos while Marseille made it through to the last 16 with a 3-2
win over Dortmund.
Arsenal who had already qualified for the knock out stages prior to last night's match, played
the match without its stars as Coach Arsene Wenger took the opportunity to test some of his
players.
This morning Sir Alex woke hoping to find that last night was simply a terrible dream, hoping
that his Manchester United team had not become the first finalists not to make it out of the group
the following season. But last night was no dream, and Thursday night appearances on channel 5 are
the embarrassing reality.
It's rather impressive that a man still playing gets a statue outside the grounds of a club the
stature of Arsenal. Extremely impressive, really. It's also pretty funny that M. Va Va Voom! is now
immortalized in bronze.
Arsene Wenger was on hand, dressed to the nines for the event in his track pants and training
shoes.

It is being reported this morning that both Arsene Wenger and Harry Redknapp are monitoring the

the Argentinian midfielder has demanded a wage raise to £50,000-a-week to extend his contract,
which runs out in 18 months time, but QPR bosses [.

Arsenal 1-0 Everton Premier League 10th December 2011
"One-nil to the Arsenal" While that score is more reminiscent of the George Graham era in north
London than the current Arsene Wenger regime, it did somehow seem rather apt on a day that the
Gunners celebrated 125 years of existence.

Keisuke Honda's agent has denied claims that Liverpool or Arsenal are pursuing the player.
CSKA Moscow's attacking midfielder was heavily linked with a move to England in the summer transfer
window, with both Kenny Dalglish and Arsene Wenger reported to be admirers of the 25-year-old.
However, agent Kees Ploegsma has moved quickly to deny the speculation, insisting there has been no
contact over a possible move away from Russia.
What the back pages say: Arsenal remain title contenders, says Wenger and Tevez parties
in Argentina

In a pulsating affair at The Etihad Stadium today, Man City overpowered Arsenal and registered a
1-0 win to go back to the top of the English Premier League. A resurgent Arsenal side that had
forced their way back to the top 10 of the division following a horrific start to the season, were
simply not good enough to slow down a City side that was coming off a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea last
Monday night.
Arsenal's 1-0 defeat over Manchester City on Sunday casted doubts on Arsene Wenger's head over
the Gunners' chance in battling for the league title with City this season considering the point
gap between them are a bit too far at the moment.
However, Wenger confirmed to their fans that his team will continue to give their shot until
things finally becomes impossible as although acknowledging that chasing the Eastlands would be
difficult, there's always a chance since the season is still long.
Still better than Barry
One to fill your time for just 24 hours before the next Arsenal game. Not only was Sunday's game
a disappointing one with regards to the final results, it was also a frustrating one to watch
because of the abuse Aaron Ramsey was getting from those around me. I had a differing view to what
was shouted out around me.

Mick McCarthy's Wolves side have lost four of their last five matches and it's fair to say they are
desperate for a victory today against the promoted Norwich City.
