Most of you probably watched Landon Donovan's debut appearance for Everton this morning in the
game against Arsenal. On sister site EPL Talk, I have an article analyzing Donovan's performance in
addition to Kartik Krishnaiyer's review on this site. But what did the English press think of his
performance?
Wenger looks for new blood apparently and Bolton boss admits mistake.

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson maintains there has been no contact from Arsenal over
promising defender Chris Smalling and would expect a phone call from Arsene Wenger if there was any
interest.
Russian's fashion statement thwarted Yoink! Arsene Wenger wants all the post-match attention to be
on his team selection and the subsequent humiliating defeat, not some silly Russian attacker taking
to the pitch wearing his woolly hat.
If I hadn't read it in the Guardian I would have just laughed, but they have made a serious
accusation against Arsene Wenger. They reckon that the Arsenal manager said after his team's win at
Portsmouth on Wednesday that Chelsea and and Carlo Ancelotti "will drop points and steadily implode
over the remainder of the season [.
Arsene Wenger linked with bringing in Dutch failure to the Emirates, surely not!

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has offered Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger the chance to sign
Anfield misfit Ryan Babel , according to The People.
Think back to to 2006... it was a good year for Philippe Senderos. The young centre-half, whom
Arsene had signed way back in 2002 when he was a coveted prospect, started half of the club's
league matches and became a regular in central defense as Sol Campbell neared the end of the first
part of his Arsenal career.
The Gunners boss appears to have a lot of plans up his sleeve!

Arsène Wenger is confident he will be able to sign the Bordeaux forward Marouane
Chamakh, a long-term target, under the Bosman ruling in the summer and could rely upon Bendtner to
lead the line in the absence of the injured Robin van Persie in the interim.

the season. For someone who fully supports Arsene Wenger's plan for the young guns, ...
Not much new stuff around the Arsenal camp with the exception of the health of Denilson. He went
down in the middle of the game seemingly in a lot of pain. However, immediately after the game, the
Brazilian was full of confidence that he would feature in this weekend's game. Next to that is the

Perhaps not putting pen to paper - or is that cursor to screen, keyboard to 'new post' - has been
useful for me when it comes to looking at the Everton match, which was a staggering ten days
ago.
Because whenever you score late, in the aftermath of the match, the result secured takes on a
special glow which casts its light far and wide.
To be able to build a culture, you need to have the time to develop and innovate your tactics,
philosophies and ideals.
Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho feels that the biggest differences between managing in Italy's
Serie A and in the English Premier League is that English managers are allowed enough time to build
that continuity.
It is January and that means it is time for another silly season.
Will Arsenal look for more help for captain Cesc Fabregas as they chase Premier League
glory?
Clubs will try to find cover for some injuries and some help in needed areas.
Title-chasing teams will be looking for that final piece or two, relegation threatened teams
will try to stay up.
The FA Cup third round match between West Ham and Arsenal is going to illustrate yet again that the
venerated cup competition is now not a priority for some of the biggest clubs in England any more.
Arsene Wenger has his challenge for the Premier League title back on course, and is not prepared to
risk [.

Morocco's most valuable export
Liverpool are close, but is the deal finalized? The
web is atwitter with news about Bordeaux's star striker Marouane Chamakh moving to Liverpool - but
reports are still conflicting.
Some reports have the Moroccan moving this month while others report the transfer will be sealed
this summer.
Mornin all, it's been a while. I've really just been enjoying the season lately, and didn't feel
the need to write about how splendidly it's been going for us so far (Knock on wood.) There is a
news story worth mentioning though, and so here I am to get on with the mention. Sol Campbell has
rejoined Arsenal, and I have to say I'm thrilled to have him back in the fold.
I'm sure most of you saw an article on Sport.co.uk claiming Arsenal "could remove their
trademark white sleeves from their home kit as they celebrate the 125th anniversary of the club in
2011 by replicating shirts worn by the club's founding fathers." With not much going on news-wise
ahead of the Bolton match, except, of course, Cesc's return from injury, I figured I would take
this pre-match Friday to gauge my readers' opinions on the kits.
20 years old Mexican Carlos Vela will be in the starting line-up for Arsene Wenger's Arsenal
side, when the Gunners heading to the Britannia Stadium for a battle with Stoke City in the 4th
Round of this years FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
Vela will probably start on the left hand side or maybe in the central forward position, but it
is up to the Arsenal Manager which team he picks to shut down a motivated Stoke City side.
The truth is that ever since his big-money move from Arsenal to Barcelona,
Thierry
Henry has flattered to deceive. There have a been a few flashes of the Thierry of old in
his three seasons at the club, but nothing sustained, which for followers of
Spanish
football is a crying shame.
A Tight Affair
On a night when Wenger could have entered the history books by registering his 300′th
league win as a manager, Arsenal flattered to decieve & left the gaffer wondering what
could have been. With proceedings tighter than ever at the summit, nothing less than a victory was
what the doctor ordered.
It's Arsenal..It's United..It's 3D!
This coming Sunday, the battle lines will be clearly ear-marked as the Gunners face the 'Red
Dolls' on their own turf i.e. the Emirates. Unlike the last few seasons, when the fixture was of
not much consequence, it will be this time, if bare statistics are to be kept in mind.

So Martin O'Neill continues his very inappropriate and personal attack on Arsene Wenger, his
comments do nothing but make himself look rather reactionary and foolish:"I believe we dropped two
points [rather than gained one] because we had clear chances. On the other hand it was a very
difficult game because they stopped us from playing when we had the ball and when they had it they

"Now is the winter of our discontent, made glorious summer by this sun of York"
(Shakespeare- Richard III)
Yes, I know a bit of culture is always welcomed by the Soccerlens readers and who better than
The Bard himself to open this piece? Of course Will actually meant that the time of discontent was
waning (in it's 'winter'), while I borrow the great man's phrase to suggest that down Stamford
Bridge way the words winter and discontent are becoming synonymous in recent seasons.
The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will definitely be buying a striker during
the transfer window, and has revealed that Nicklas Bendtner will not be returning to the side in
January, as was previously expected. "Robin Van Persie and Bendtner contributed to many of the 51
goals we scored," Wenger said.
A year ago Arsenal fans welcomed Andrey Arshavin to the club during the January transfer window,
and this time around Arsene Wenger is denying rumors that he is interested in a big name winter
signing.
Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has been linked with a move to Arsenal since the summer, but
Wenger insists a January move is not on the cards.
I thought of that title all by myself. Clever aint I?
It's obvious that the FA Cup isn't top of Arsene Wenger's agenda these days. In fact I reckon that
he would rather win the meat raffle at my local boozer more but I do worry if the worst case
scenario happened tomorrow and we were beaten.
Had it been last season, I would have been asking myself why in the unspeakable hell is Torres
playing in a dreary 3rd round FA cup fixture with a bottom table championship side. But then this
ain't last season. If people like Arsene Wenger or Wayne Rooney with their clubs very much in
contention have a reason to think this is a crazy season, then imagine a scouser like me.
Arsenal striker Carlos Vela has ended the decade with 10 minutes on the pitch at Fratton Park,
as he came on for Russian forward Andrey Arshavin in Arsenal's 4:1 against Portsmouth.
Arsene Wenger side have controlled the whole match and could finally celebrate a very deserved
win, thanks to goals from Eduardo, Samir Nasri, Aaron Ramsey as well as Alex Song.
The FA Cup is a competition that is synonymous with Arsene Wenger's Arsenal. The great man has
already lead Arsenal to 4 FA Cup triumph for the last 13 years, the last coming in a penalty
shoot-out against Man United. Patrick Vieira scored his with his last ever touch in an Arsenal
shirt. Another journey [.

Arsenal's reward for getting past West Ham in the FA Cup is a tough away tie to Stoke City. The

As Ernest Hemingway's famous novel states, a bell tolled at Fratton Park the night Portsmouth's
