For any of you finance gurus out there, I'm sure Equifax is a name you're extremely familiar with.
For the rest of you, Equifax is the company that is largely responsible for compiling credit scores
of both individuals and now Premiership clubs. After a recent review by Equifax, it was declared
that 50% of the clubs in the Premier League are "insolvent.
Sorry Mum. Uh, I mean, sorry Arsene. Okay, this is getting ridiculous, and I don't even
support Arsenal. Sure, publicly we talk about the Gunners's depressingly sub-par performance this
season as a victory for parity in the Premier League. Privately though, like for instance
this morning over a nice warm cup of coffee for what should have [.
I've got three of them today. The first one is not really primarily aboutArsenal related, but it's
by Jonathan Wilson (whose book I ordered from Amazon) and I have a serious football crush on him.
He knows pretty much everything and ... Anyway. It's a good article about Arshavin. The other two
are more directly Arsenal related.
Arsenal have a flawed squad, abundant injuries and a pint-sized transfer budget. To compete
for the top four they must supplement themselves, and apparently must do so cost-effectively.
A simple measure, and one which would cost nothing, would be to recall Armand Traoré from his
loan at Portsmouth.
Well the rumblings of yesterday have come to fruition today, on two counts. The first happening in
South America, the other happening at the Riverside. I can understand Carlos Tevez wanting his
future sorted. But the situation with Manchester United seems to get crazier by the day. After
firing back at Ferguson's claims of rejecting a [.
We could finally see Arsene Wenger splash the cash.
Wenger resorts to underhand tactics to kick-start Gunners' season Arsene Wenger has long been
lauded as a great innovator within the English game (most loudly by himself, but he has been lauded
nonetheless), but his plan to use a 4-5-2 formation against West Ham at the weekend could be a
progression too far.
Last week Rafa Benitez unleashed a premeditated tirade about the conduct of Manchester United
manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Following that, Benitez was forced to watch his Liverpool side succumb
to a 0-0 draw against lowly Stoke. Most members of the media are in agreement about one thing: Rafa
Benitez has lost the plot.
Morning all. Today is a big day for Arsenal and for me. I just got my copy of the Official
Illustrated History of Arsenal and I am facking stoked. I'll probably read through it a good seven
or eight times this weekend. For Arsenal though, it's the last day (supposedly) for us to work out
a deal for Andrey Arshavin.
So tired of hearing this or that about the Arshavin madness. I don't even want to write this
post right now, but since everyone and his or her mom is writing and reporting something about a
fee being agreed, I figure I would take this time to whinge about it. Wenger has now come out and
said that the fee everyone has reported has not been agreed upon.
Apologies for the long absence but I've been in transition mode over the past weekend and needed
time to get ready to settle into a new area.
Last weekend's result was pleasing enough, and it made me ponder the chance of success in the FA
Cup. Realistically speaking, this competition is the best chance that this team has of adding
silverware this season.
Morning all. There is pretty much nothing at all to write about today. No signings, no new injuries
(Thank God), and really no news at all. However, there is a story about the prospect of Jimmy
Bullard of Fulham and Martin Laursen from Villa coming to Arsenal. Now I won't pretend to have
discovered this story on my own, so full credit to Arseblogger if this story proves to be true.
Anti-football, 1890's tactics, cheating, dirty Stokies. That seemed to be the general consensus
from the debate on The Times 'The Game' blog when Oliver Kay posed the question: Are Stoke City the
least popular top-flight club since Wimbledon? Fans from pretty much all corners had their say and
the overwhelming answer seemed to be, yes, Stoke [.
With the departure of Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon, many people have been campaigning to
take over the vacant spot. News from the Madrid "campaign trail" is that current
candidate Florentino Perez vows to bring Arsene Wenger, Cesc Fabregas, and Kaka to Madrid if he is
named president. Perez would name Wenger both coach and general manager, a position usually not
given to coaches at

There are a few worried men in the football world at the moment.
Obviously Steven Gerrard has his on-going court case on a charge of assault.
And now Robhinho has been arrested and bailed following an allegation of a serious sexual
assault.
Meanwhile, Martin Allen has the look of a worried man.
Arsene Wenger has rubbished rumours about a possible departure from Arsenal to join Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants - just like any big-spending club does - are buying left and right with some
believing it's buying without thinking, and rumours have linked our coach with a possible move to
Spain. But, he told Arsenal's official website: I [.

Once again, I'm real late getting this up. Sorry about that. The match against Bolton kicks off
in less than 30 minutes, and with Villa on the verge of beating West Brom, it's another must-win to
stay within range of the Villains. The conditions will be nightmarish, with the temperatures
forecasted to be around the freezing mark.
Arsenal got three more valuable points today but their display was far from convincing and they
struggled to break down a depleted, if resilient, Bolton. We know that the injuries to Cesc
Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Eduardo and Tomas Rosicky leave the Gunners short on pace, experience and
creativity but for me one of the most [.
So it was relief from an unlikely source this weekend - Nicklas Bendtner. The young Dane hasn't
had the strongest campaign this time around after putting a few good performances on display last
year. Hopefully this goal - a hugely important one at that - provided the difference in a much
needed win against Bolton at the Emirates.
Another weekend, another pulse-raising, sweat-inducing Arsenal victory. This game was much,
much, closer than the misleading 3-1 victory. But at the end of the day, with a team short of a lot
of creative players, it is three points in the bank.
Despite Hull struggling with form, it was obvious that another tough game would be in store for
the Gunners, and the first 20 minutes delivered.
Word around the Internets today is that Arsenal is close to signing Andrei Arshavin from Zenit
for anywhere between £13-17m. Dick Advocaat told the Daily Mail that:
"Negotiations with Arsenal continue and the chances are very high that Arshavin will soon
play in the English Premier League.
Good evening all. I've been a bit lazy the past two days and uninspired. The Arshavin madness
has been driving me a bit insane, and perhaps the saga has reached an end. The Daily Mail is
reporting that an agreement has been reached between Zenit and Arsenal for the tune of £15m. A
large sum, one might say, but when the likes of Berbatov and Robinho are going for around
£30m+, I'll take what I can get.

It's Cardiff City in today's fourth-round FA Cup match at Ninian Park in Wales. The biggest
storyline is Aaron Ramsey facing his old club in a match that should have a good deal of
significance for Arsenal. This could be the club's only legitimate shot at silverware this season,
so I'd expect Wenger to trot out a fairly strong side although I have a hunch that Ramsey will get
some time, either as a starter or off the substitutes bench.
It was another sub-par performance from the Gunners yesterday, and with the 0-0 result after the
90 minutes at Ninian Park, we're headed towards a replay at the Emirates for February 3rd. Geez,
it's February next week. Time flies. The winner of the replay will get the winner of the West
Brom-Barnley replay, so perhaps a chance for revenge if they find a way past Cardiff.
While opposing fans used to sing about Arsenal's Highbury being as quiet as a library, it's easy to
see where that comparison comes from. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger often plays the role of a
librarian - always very astute in his approach to business and never loud. This January is no
different, and Wenger is once again insisting that everything is quiet on the transfer front.
Morning all. We had a pretty big match yesterday against Everton, and after going the inevitable
goal down, Robin van Persie managed to equalize. And I have to say, it was a fucking fantastic
goal. The problem is that we gave up a goal before that and had almost no attacking presence until
that goal in the 92nd minute.

Hello all. Last night was a little rowdy for me so I slept in pretty late today, hence the late
post. Not a whole lot going on with Arsenal today ahead of the West Ham game tomorrow. Arsene
Wenger gave an interview to Arsenal TV Online, and said he wants to get the Arshavin deal done
before the match tomorrow.
