Nasri out the door for Miami-based chicken fighting league on higher weekly wages than current
Arsenal offer.
So, Clichy is off to Man City. Better him than Sagna, for our right back is quite a feisty,
efficient, and productive gem. (Ohh, I love me some Sagna! He won't ever leave, will he?
Now that would scupper the entire tactical structure of the cavemen who visit the Home of
Football tonight.
On a serious note, tonight is bloody huge, massive... a monsterous game of football...
FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE CUP FINAL.
For me, and many Gooners, the ultimate prize is to be the Champions of your country, to
the rule the roost in your homeland.
Having the media keeps on speculating about the future of his two important stars, Samir Nasri
and Cesc Fabregas, Arsenal's manager, Arsene Wenger, once again voiced out his insurance that he
won't let those two leave the team this summer.
Wenger understand that letting the likes of Nasri and Fabregas would definitely give a big
influence on the team and instead of strengthening them, it could actually depleted the Gunners'
even more.
It is quite difficult to write something during the summer break. Last season was quite
different. The constant Cesc quest produced infinite number of stories and for people like us it
was quite good. This season things are back to normal and the transfer market is quietly evolving.
But earlier indications looks like we are once again losing the plot with the endless Cesc
saga.

Match Of The Day Highlights
1-0 Robin Van Persie
2-0 Samir Nasri

Newcastle completed the greatest comeback in Premier League history; however most of us would
consider it the greatest choke in history. Following this match there has been much debate as to
who was actually to blame for Arsenal's disgraceful demise. As an Arsenal fan that has supported
the club before the arrival of the Arsene [.
One could say this is the best time for such a game because Arsenal have nothing to lose and can
play without any pressure. On the other hand, it's just as easy to say this is the worst time to
play United because confidence of the players must be really low and the visitors, who don't need
anything more than a draw, thrive in a defend and counter-attack environment.
Most mornings Arseblog is easy to write. This morning not so much. Not because we haven't gone
through the loss of important players before but this one just seems a little different.
Most of the time Arsene lets 'his' players go only when he thinks it's the right time. Thierry
went to Barcelona at 29, going on 30.

Last week I listened to a number of end of season podcasts. Needless to say the non-Arsenal
assessments were damning of the team and in particular the podcasts made by professional
journalists.(SkySports, Guardian etc). Almost to a man the journalists blamed Arsenal's failure on
Mr Wenger lack of activity in the transfer market and his reliance on his youth policy.

Things seem to be looking up for Arsenal fans.
With the club poised to snatch up Ivory Coast winger/striker Gervinho from Ligue 1's Lille in
the following few days, Gunners fans finally have something to smile about.
The attacker notched a solid 15 goals in Lille's championship-winning season last year but has
long been linked away from the club, and Arsenal has been consistently showing interest in the
player.
Despite the pundits tipping Arsenal for another difficult season following the club's drab
goalless draw away to Newcastle yesterday, manager Arsene Wenger is content with his players'
efforts, particularly those in the much criticized Gunners defense.
The boss singled out first-choice defensive pairing of Thomas Vermaelen and Laurent Koscielny
for praise, insisting that the two players must be lauded for helping goalkeeper Wojciech Szceszny
keep an impressive clean sheet in a difficult atmosphere at St.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes yesterday's 0-2 defeat against Liverpool should go down as a
good performance as the Gunners faced the Reds with eight players out injured or suspended.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, ...
History is on Arsenal's side for the encounter against Manchester City. Including the League
Cup, City have lost 21 of their last 28 visits to Arsenal, failing to score in 18 of those
games.
I haven't checked the details but I think West Brom had a similar record. Add the wealth Citeh
have been able to splash out and it's not difficult to see history will have little bearing on the
outcome of this particular match.

It's hard not to enjoy that is it not? Now, after more than 12 hours have passed since the game
ended, I'm still buzzing. It belies the fact that I had only 4 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours.
With the match starting at 3:45am in Malaysia and between work, there was no choice for me.
Good morning, a whole pile of stuff to get through so no hanging around.
Arsene's pre West Brom press conference took place yesterday and there were a few talking
points. He confirmed Johan Djourou would be out for 'at least' 6 weeks and also confirmed that
Thomas Vermaelen would miss the rest of the season.
Arsenal defender Johan Djourou has dismissed talk of the Gunners failing to qualify for next
season's Champions League group stage. Despite remaining close to league winners Manchester United
well into 2011, Arsene Wenger's side lost the Carling Cup final against Birmingham and saw their
season collapse as they dropped to fourth place in the table.
As Arsenal supporters we have many great anniversaries to celebrate.
There was May 26th 1989 – Micky Thomas scoring in the closing seconds to clinch an improbable
title away at Anfield. The sight of 40,000 thieving Scousers whining about being robbed was karma
on a cosmic scale.
Or how about May 3rd, 1971, when a Ray Kennedy header made us champions of England – an
achievement made all the sweeter by the location of our triumph: that's right, that large public
convenience in N17.
Yes after an extended break, the Hawke is back in the blogosphere.
Where to start? Well firstly, there has never been and there never will be a footballer at
Arsenal who is even 0.1% of the size of the club itself.
Anybody who has believed for even one second that Cesc was not going to leave this Summer needs
shooting, the club told Cesc this time last year to give us one more season and then if Barca stump
up we won't stand in the way.

I haven't had the chance to gauge the general sentiment of the fans about the transfer of Clichy
to Man City so I will just share my views. I think this transfer is good for all concerned.
From the player's point of view, this move will give him a fresh start in a completely different
environment where he will get much better defensive support than he did at Arsenal in the last
three years.

He wouldn't let it lie, would he? He wouldn't let it lie.
After spending last summer bleating on and on about it and just days after riling Arsene Wenger
once again by stating on the Barcelona website that Cesc Fabregas had confided in him that he was
'suffering' at Arsenal, Xavi has continued to work away at his inversely proportionate 'top notch
string-puller on the field: first-class tosspot of it' ratio by telling reporters that all he wants
now is a 'solution' that will finally end all this terrible hurt and see Cesc sign for Barca this
summer.
Saturday morning brings about more transfer rumours, speculation and heart-ache for Arsenal
fans.
Samir Nasri is reported to have rejected Arsenal's new offer of £115K a week. This is on the
back of some newspaper reports stating that Nasri's representatives having agreed a deal

Better late than never I guess, my review of last season...
Five myths about where it went wrong...
1) 'Arsene's management of the team is completely inept'
You know, I might have some time for people who say this - or similar things - if they'd been
saying this in January and February.

Arsenal fans, why are we so devastated by the protracted departure of Cesc Fabregas? Its not
like we haven't had three years to mentally and emotionally prepare ourselves for this, right? Yet,
the idea of Arsenal will at the Emirates and abroad without Cesc Fabregas in the squad, let alone
leading it, will seem very foreign, perhaps as foreign as it was not seeing Thierry Henry in the
starting line up.

You might wonder at the good humour literally flowing through this week's Good Week/Bad Week
post. Either we woke up this morning and just felt great about ourselves or we've just realised
that it's a Bank Holiday in the UK this week and Labor Day in the USA the next, meaning we get to
skive off busy work and get drunk without warning.
Having suffered a very disappointing defeat against Ipswich Town in the Carling Cup, Arsenal will
now shift their focus on the Premier League with some injury concerns for manager Arsene Wenger.

Andy Carroll might have made an exciting transfer story but the focus for Arsenal during
Saturday's visit to St. James' Park will have to be on the teammates he's left behind. Newcastle
have already defeated Arsenal once in the league. I don't think anyone will easily forget that
boring, frustrating game at the Emirates when it seemed a bus full of prisoners in black and white
stole three points on a set-piece.
It is hard to be angry with the team today because they deserved the three points for an excellent
overall performance, in the end they were undone largely by an absolutely terrible refereeing
performance from Phil Dowd. Arsene has been pretty coy following the match but he knows this too, I
am impressed that he has controlled his words so well, he was 'surprised' with the penalty
decisions, a
There have been far too many games in which at least one major decision has gone against
Arsenal. And this isn't a new phenomenon linked only to this season. The Gunners have also been
lucky with some marginal calls and it's not all one way traffic but based on my recollections the
‘against' tally is like a cricket score while the ‘for' list is an endangered species on the
verge of extinction.
Often compared to former Arsene captain Patrick Vieira, midfielder Abou Diaby believes there's
still a long way to go to reach the level of his compatriot but once there, he would hopefully go

LONDON, England At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal kept the pressure on United with a comfortable win
against Wolves. Van Persie put Arsene Wenger's team ahead in the 16th minute with an emphatic
volley from a Cesc Fabregas cross. Wolves had ended United's 29-match unbeaten run last week, but
they are back at the bottom [.
Respect: To come back from a goal down to beat (arguably) the best team in the world after being
put under some intense Barca pressure early on. Well done Arsene and men.
Do everyone a favor by repeating the performance tonight at the Nou Camp in a couple of
weeks.
Then the competition gets blown wide open and it's anyone's trophy.
Does a match of such magnitude end any better?
I will admit at around the 75 minute mark, I had given up on any chance of a win... a draw was a
maybe... however it seemed we had blown our early chances, including a cracking chance for Robin in
the opening minutes, after a delightful chipped through pass from Cesc.

Midweek Arse to you all and it seems funny not to have a game. As far as I can make out the only
time we've had seven days between games since the end of December was the week after the 4-4
against Newcastle when we played Wolves at home. Progress in various competitions, a number of
times via replay, meant the schedule has been as hectic as it possibly could have been.
The inevitable is finally happening – a billionaire is buying Arsenal. Will it make Arsenal a
rich man's play thing? Will there be money available to the manager? Will Wenger have a sword
hanging over his head? Will the Gunners be laden with the burden of debt? Will Usmanov sell his
stake? What about the AST, Fanshare, and other minority shareholders?
Arsenal's defeat against Bolton Wanderer last weekend has made the Gunners' title bit gets even
harder and finally left the team's manager, Arsene Wenger, starting to lose his confidence over his
team's chance in competing with Manchester United in the premier league.
Admitting their chances gets even slimmer, Wenger stated that he is still proud with his players
and claiming their slump that the team's having is all down to him not his boys.
