Exaggerate them, make them seem worse than they are, really stretch out the time it will take
for the player to come back.
Why?
Is it not obvious?
This new Walcott injury and the manager's comments on the official website seem not quite
fitting to me, on one hand the injury is not as bad as expected as the scan is clear, but then he
says it will be up to 6 weeks till we see him again in an Arsenal shirt.
In the years gone by I'd have talked about Bolton with a degree of contempt in a manner similar
to what I use for Stoke or Blackburn. This has changed somewhat since the appointment of Owen
Coyle, one of the few English managers that I respect. Even then, and with due respect, I
don't expect Bolton to be any different from the other mid-table teams that come to the
Emirates.
In his press conference after the Braga game Arsene was asked if he expected Wilshere to play a
central role so early in the season. In his usual forthright manner Arsene shared his wisdom,
Honestly, no. But football teaches you one thing be open-minded and never have a definite
opinion.
Receiving an embarrassing defeat against West Brom at Emirates stadium last Saturday, Arsenal
manager, Arsene Wenger, still try to keep the pressure away from his personnels as the coach
refused to blame one or two players insisting that it's the whole team's mistakes.
Answering some critics that were being addressed to his keeper, Manuel Almunia, Wenger stated
that he doesn't think that their defeat was caused only by Almunia's error but more of every part
of the team that didn't play well.
The huge gulf in class between the two teams was eventually exposed as Arsenal won the game
convincingly, albeit with a few hiccups along the way. For a while it looked much closer than it
should have been, mainly due to the endeavour of the hosts, good goalkeeping, and profligacy of the
Arsenal attackers.
If you, like me, don't follow the Portuguese league or the early stages of the Champions League
then you probably don't know much about Braga. That's the reason I was quite interested in
listening to Arsene's opinion about our opponents on Wednesday night. These are the points I got
from the press conference,
Braga are team that is physically strong, well organized, play with quick transition from
defence to offence, and are good with shots from distance.
Yesterday, some readers thought I was too harsh or overly negative, which came as a surprise to
me. Some thought I was reacting to the result which was quite strange. I read through the post
again and couldn't quite see where I said we were appalling because we dropped two points. I know I
was in a bad mood and there was a little hyperbole involved, especially in the title.

Perversely, it was Tottenham not Arsenal who fielded something of a second-string XI in the
Carling Cup; maybe old Arsene has decided that winning the Carling Cup would be better than winning
NOTHING AT ALL for another season.
"Now Beckham, do you reckon the better the footballer you is, the fitter the girl you go out
with?"
"Obviously"
"So you is the best, at footy, you know. So you gets Posh Spice. So does Sporty Spice go out
with someone from Scunthorpe United?
Dissect the West Brom game as much as you want, but it won't make any difference to the
result.
I sat through the whole game in the Clock End Upper (love saying that as opposed to the South
Stand), right smack behind the goal, so had a wonderful vantage point over the course of the
miserable afternoon.
By Paul Blythe ‘There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you shall see Marouan, and
Laurent, and Sebastien, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of Arsene, and you yourselves thrust
out.' I am a seeker of truth. I study the mystic runes and the wisdom of our ancestors to discover
a deeper [.
In his post match interview with BBC, Arsene was asked whether he thought the sending off was
fair or not. We got a classic Wenger response,
It looked to me a tackle from behind; it looked to me that Cahill was upset because they didn't
get the penalty on the other end and he got his frustration out on the tackle.
I must confess I was a bit premature in the praise for Owen Coyle and an improved Bolton. To be
fair to him, it won't be easy to change the habits of players who have spent their lifetimes
training for a combination of "kick them off the park" and "hoof and chase" football.
Coyle could have shown the right intent with a stronger midfield but the moment I saw his
starting line up it was clear that we are in for another defensive aerial battle and for some brute
force on the ground.
I am very surprised we have not heard more on how his scans/x-rays etc have gone.
As I am sure most of you have seen already via all the pics and vids up on other gooner blogs,
surrounding the diabolical challenge by the northern monkey from Bolton, it aint pretty.
If the news from AW during the champs league press conference tommorw afternoon is out for 4-6
weeks, it won't surprise me.

Rap star Jay-Z has restated his desire to buy shares in Arsenal and even take a
place in the Gunners' boardroom.
Hova says that he and wife Beyonce Knowles would even move to London so he could be "involved in
the decision-making" at Arsenal.
Firstly poor Abou Diaby is out for a period after Paul Robinson's shocking tackle, it would not
surprise me if this turns out to be weeks, the fact that he could barely move his leg after the
game does not bode for a quick return. Arsene says he is out til after the weekend at an absolute
minimum. For those of you who need reminding as to the reckless and violent nature of the tackle,
it can be
So the FA turned down Gary Cahill's appeal yesterday, they had no choice really, two footed tackles
from behind should never be appealed, he should have been given an extra game ban for taking the
p*ss. Arsene has had some very interesting things to say since the match, reported by John Cross
here in the Mirror and also by Matt Lawson in the Express, I have taken a few bits to highlight for
you:
Last night's 6-0 drubbing of Portuguese side Braga was Arsene's proteges at their very best. Of
course, many pundits have been quick to nullify Arsenal's performance and classify it as a case of
weak opposition, but the adage that there are no weak teams in this stage of the Champions League
nevertheless rings true.
Have you noticed the difference in the team morale this season?
I certainly have, they all celebrate together, no big sulksters mooching around playing for
themselves.
No bawling at your left-back and killing his confidence.
Gallas was a liabilty, he might have been a handy defender, but was he not at the heart of the
defence that leaked all those goals?
Arsenal visit Stadium of Light tonight as they play Steve Bruce's Sunderland. We've had mixed
results here over the last 3 seasons. A win, a draw and a lost in that particular sequence. So,
this has become a fixture that Arsenal have struggled in recent seasons and just like the last 2
games before this, this match is another test of whether we have improved with another year's
experience.
I heard an important point raised on the Arsenal Fan Forum show last Friday night.
Gael Clichy has not got the technical ability to do anything worthwhile with the ball in the
final third of the pitch, he is wonderful at getting into the correct areas when we are on the
front foot, but due to his inability to reach his own man with the ball.
Sunderland 1 1 Arsenal
Fabregas 13, Bent 90+
Ouch! That really did cut deep on Saturday. I was in a terrible mood for about an hour after the
game.
My fiancé Carly then became a little ratty with me for being unable to shake off the
disappointment.
I like the format of the Carling Cup, where the job is done on the night, no piddley replays
etc, extra-time then penalties if needed.
The FA Cup should also be run in a similar fashion from say Round 4 or 5, let the replays stay
in the earlier rounds for the smaller clubs to earn some money, but in the latter rounds, with the
Champs league and other comps all hotting up, the transfer fixture pile up can cause our clubs
issues.
Apparently Koscienly was not going to be any good, who was this 3rd rate defender, plucked from
relative obscurity to ply his trade in the Premiership?
That bloody Wenger, buying duds all the time, hey..huhh!
Chamakh can't score goals... came the cry from the moaning morons... a few goals and a month
down the line and not a peep, as per the norm.
Right gooners, making my preparations to head off to the Emms for the WBA game... got a feeling we
may draw the same team in the Carling Cup at lunchtime today aswell(?)
3-0 should do it today and there is a real possibilty of JET getting a game today, which is not
the worst idea ahead of Belgrade and West London.
