He's cool but just don't go to Old Trafford. They'll call you names there." Michel Platini: "Oh, mon Dieu.

Much has been said about Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva's dive against Celtic during last Wednesday's 2nd leg of the Champions League pre-qualifier. One split-second incident has led to questions about Michael Platini's proposed system of 5 referees, TV technology, retrospective charges and just exactly what is it that constitutes a dive.

Okay so my adopted Croatia didn't win last night. Instead they were comprehensively beaten by a very good England side. It has to be admitted. I suppose we Gooners enjoyed last night. The sight of Fabregas, Bendtner and Eduardo scoring along with Arshavin's assist for their various international teams was satisfying.

Ligue 1 defending champions Bordeaux's coach Laurent Blanc says he wouldn't be interested in taking over the France squad if Raymond Domenech was to leave sooner than expected. Blanc, who won the French League title last season with Bordeaux, is considered one of the best French coaches along with Arsenal's Arsene .

Too often last season Wenger deployed Bendtner as a wide player, whilst not in an orthodox left-wingers role, sufficiently wide to keep out of the penalty area. The same pattern has been repeated this season, resulting in the young Denmark striker pleading for Arsene to play him in a more central role.

PFA chief Gordon Taylor has urged football fans, pundits, and the FA to put a stop to the lynch mob mentality that is surrounding Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor. The targetman stirred up controversy over the weekend by first stamping on Robin van Persie's face before scoring a goal and sprinting the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of the angry Gunners fans.

The first defeat of the season is always the most tricky one to deal with. Perhaps that explains why some feel that the earlier it comes, the better. At the beginning of the 2007-08 season, a determined young Arsenal squad made a typically flying start to the campaign.

Morning, it's Wigan on the menu today and a home game which seems like a bit of a novelty this season so far.

Only Robin van Persie is back from injury. Andrei Arshavin hasn't made it, neither has Almunia, Theo Walcott has had a setback apparently, and the others we know about already. The importance of this game should be in no doubt.

From what I can see there isn't too much going on out there. I suppose the biggest discussion point at the minute (apart from the FA's refusal to punish Bellamy, Neville, or Mascherano) is Arsene's insistence that the enforcement of a restriction on the transfer of u18's would ruin his youth policy, and while Arsenal probably have more at stake than most other clubs, it is a rule which will negatively impact every club in Engalnd.

Isn’t it just plain stupid only to sign one player this transfer window?

I feel disappointed and somewhat annoyed of how Arsene Wenger seems it liable to sell two main players this transfer window and bring in one (Thomas Vermaelen) as a like for like replacement. If Arsenal want to challenge for all trophies this season we needed a better squad, and without a doubt needed another CB.

The inexplicable is often the standard in football. The £14 million pounds Man City paid for Wayne Bridge is inexplicable. Florent Malouda's protean hairstyles are inexplicable. Arsene Wenger's ability to see zero penalties against Arsenal is inexplicable. Yet even bearing this in mind, I could not help but rubbing my eyes to make sure I had read the headline correctly:

The international break is over and we resume with the real football. I have stated before FIFA needs to address the international football calendar. We cannot have a stop start season, any rhythm that teams have is disrupted. I would prefer a break in October or 2-3 weeks and another in March, allowing all internationals to be crammed into these periods.

1. 4-2 flattered Manchester City. Statistics showed we had nearly twice as many attempts on goal. We had 12 corners to City's 3. And we shaded possession as well.
2. However, City were clinical at a time when Arsenal were at their creative best, but defensively most fragile.
