"You can't have my goolies, Zamparini, you hear me"
Can Arsenal have a straight transfer story for once? Football's groundhog day is surely the
inevitable summer ritual of Cesc Fabregas's "will he won't he this time around." Now, we have the
story of Velez Sarsfield winger Ricardo Alvarez suiting up in Arsenal kit.
Sometime during the last week there was this article on the Arsenal website with a few comments
from Benayoun. The Israeli skipper said that he can understand the reasons for not getting regular
starts and was happy to contribute whenever he got a chance.
They say you don't change a winning team and we are on a good run so it is very difficult to get
into the team.
This is going to be a pretty short one, but I'll plan to get a longer blog up sometime tomorrow
for us to chew on. Brenton is currently on vacation, and JG is currently packing for a three week
trip to Peru. I hear it's nice this time of year. Anyway, I think JG will have something up around
Thursday, after he arrives there.
There is an interesting post on the official Arsenal website that seems to suggest that Aaron
Ramsey is keen to be Jack Wilshere's partner in the Arsenal midfield next season, with Alex Song as
the defensive part of the trio. The article itself mentions that Fabregas and Diaby may split them
up when they return [.
Fans finally voting with their feet.. Silent Stan nowhere to be seen.. Just what is
going on at Arsenal?

Tickets for a Premier League match are on general sale for the Bolton game on Saturday week.
We know it's a big and extremely difficult game when Wenger himself calls it a real test and a
Cup final. But I don't want to spend too much time building this fixture up. Those visiting this
blog know the significance well enough.
The stats pack on Arsenal website provides some interesting nuggets.
Arsenal continued to find ways to get to goal only to be thwarted by poor finishing and Kasper's
Schmeichel's goalkeeping. When the son of the Danish legend failed, Jonathan Howson was at hand to
effect a goal line clearance.
Then came the moment which changed the match. Denilson stuck his leg out in unthinking fashion

It is undoubtedly very hard to write in glowing terms of anyone in a red and white shirt but if
you're looking for a dangerman then one needs to be identified. Plus, it would seem that the
official Arsenal website says nice things about Gareth Bale, so someone needs to redress the
balance.
My letter to Arsenal by Alie Bao (who also sent this to the official Arsenal website!) Samir Nasri
is a fine character and can become a world class player, on the proviso that he maintains patience
and courage at Arsenal. The only true alternative he has is Barcelona, simply because Barcelona's
style befits his character [.
Transfer Rumors: Nasri Is The Man For City - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
For much of the summer, Arsene Wenger had to field questions about the futures of Cesc
Fabregas and Samir Nasri, trying to ward off the speculation and
likelihood that arguably Arsenal's two best players would be leaving the Emirates Stadium this
summer.

Arsenal seem to pick up more injuries than a team at the Geriatric Twister World Championships.
Currently tucked up in their sick-beds are Thomas Vermaelen, Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and Bacary
Sagna amongst others. However, in order to make more room for the Gunners' sick and infirm, the
club have extended their medical facilities.
We at Arsenal Offside would like offer our condolences to the family and friends of Gary Speed
in light of his the news that he has taken his own life yesterday. Arsene Wenger offered his own
message on the Arsenal website saying:
"It was a shock of course. I did not know him very well as a person but you did not like to see him
on the team against you.

Paul Barber, the big name executive the team brought in from Tottenham to help the team move up to
MLS, has resigned and will leave the job in February.
Since Ju Young Park arrived from Monaco in August he has made less than a handful of appearances
for Arsenal.
Now I understand there is always going to be a period of 'transition' for a player coming in from a
different country, but at times I wonder whether Park is actually real or a figment of my
imagination.
