Chelsea enter 2010 as the top Premier League club, but with only two wins out of their last
eight games the Blues have showed signs of weakness. Manager Carlo Ancelotti remains adamant,
however, that Chelsea have done well over the past six months and he is content with his side's
chances entering the new year.
Arsenal needed heroes. Arshavin and Chamakh answered the call with great support from Nasri and
Rosicky. I think in terms of moving the ball and creating chances, this game was amongst the best
we have played so far this season. As I'd mentioned earlier, the injury to Cesc looks like a
blessing in disguise.

Chelsea-Birmingham
Two of the best clubs in the last few months face-off as Chelsea plays host to surprise newboys
Birmingham. It has been a storybook type of run for the first year club and you would think that
their record breaking run from 1908 would have to come to an end sometime soon and who better to
finish it then the first place squad playing at home.
Figured I'd update two of the graphics rolled out during the season: Points per game through eight
games and 2008/09 vs 2009/10 Results Comparison.
The thicker, brown (I thought the color was fitting) dashed line in the middle of the graphic
represents this campaign: one of only three seasons in the last 11 where Liverpool regressed after
the first eight games.
So here it is: Fabianski, Sagna, Squillaci, Koscielny, Clichy, Rosicky, Song, Wilshere, Nasri,
Chamakh, Arshavin Subs: Szczesny, van Persie, Walcott, Denilson, Djourou, Gibbs, BendtnerNot the
eleven I would have selected but then I am not the Arsenal manager. Will we have enough width and
will we be exploited in our sweet centre?
