Arsene Wenger will be busy this summer in the transfer market, but when looks at bringing
players in he has to negotiate carefully as there is a small army of Arsenal players who were
scattered throughout Europe.
Of the players plying their trade, Pedro Botelho is the most likely player to
make the Arsenal first team squad this season.
As the transfer rumour season gets under way, the press is busy slaughtering us for our lack of
activity.
Well let's look at what has happened so far.
Liverpool have spent £20M on an England u-21 international, a player who is not as good as
either Wilshere or Ramsey, so what did they expect us to do, spend money for the sake of spending
money?
Sunday, Sunday, the red tops are full of more rumours and transfer stories, so much
contradiction it makes you want to scream.
The People are reporting that Samir Nasri is not after £110K a week as previously reported but
a staggering £160K a week. Well Samir if this is the case then it will be thanks for the
memories but good-bye.
Arsenal fans are gearing themselves for an influx of players, we are waiting with baited
breath. We are also aware that the exodus from the Emirates will be a big one this summer.
Players who have not made the grade, others who have not had the opportunity and some who think
the grass is greener on the other side of the tracks.

The Arsenal transfer rumour mill is hotting up, and about time.
Lille have confirmed that Arsenal are in talks with Ivory Coast striker cum attacking midfielder
Gervinho. The player appears to have indicated that Arsenal are his preference,
it now remains to be seen if we offer him a derisory £30K a week or a decent contract.
The one signing Arsenal fans are waiting to hear happen is Samir Nasri signing a new
contract.
In an interview with the club magazine, we do not know when this was done, Nasri certainly gave
some strong hints that he will sign a new contract.
Nasri spoke about showing people that last season was not a one off, whilst this might be taken
as a determination to prove himself to Arsenal fans, it can also be taken as he can perform well at
another club.
It's not time to panic, the transfer window does not officially open until 1st July, the season
only finished 4 weeks ago, however, signs of a busy summer as stated by both Arsene Wenger and Ivan
Gazidis, we not seen.
Matters started well with Arsenal rumoured to have agreed a deal for Argentine winger Ricardo
Alvarez.
The pre-season tour to the Far East is over and we are entering the transfer season. Wenger
told us that clubs will wait until the end of the month to make their moves and Wenger will be one
of those. Ivan Gazidis said he spent the week in the Far East to discuss Arsenal's transfer
strategy with the boss.
It seems that Belgian wonderkid Eden Hazard is closing in on joining Arsenal as, according to
sources close to Hazard, they are in the driving seat for his signature. The sport.co.uk source
said: "There is a lot of interest in Eden currently as you would expect. Which top club in football
wouldn't want to be interested in [.
Manchester United and Liverpool have already made a big start to their summer spending with the
signings of Phil Jones £20 million Ashley Young £15M and Liverpool buying Jordan Henderson £20M.
This came on the day that we bought our first signing- no not a big name player but a 19 year old
from Charlton for £1 million.

If you can watch it...
Another Saturday comes around and the usual suspects are still being linked with Arsenal.
Ricardo Alvarez, yes the player were supposed to have signed on a free
transfer, who then become subject to a tug of war between Arsenal and Manchester United, is back in
the frame or perhaps not.
The annual Fabregas to Barcelona saga is full swing, but there is a difference. Barcelona are
not prepared to pay anything near Cesc's true value.
Barcelona kicked off the Cesc transfer with a plea of poverty; they only have £45M to spend on
all transfer activities. This was directed at the Arsenal board, because whilst the Catalan
outfit pleased poverty to Arsenal, they were busy trying to sign Rossi from Villarreal for £40M,
Alexis Sanchez from Udinese for £35M and now David Luiz from Chelsea for £25M.
Late May the news hit the internet and other media outlets that Arsenal had signed Velez
Sarsfield winger Ricardo Alvarez. The story soon became muddied by talks of other clubs
interested in the player; the story continued that Arsenal executive Richard Laws had visited
Argentina but broke off talks once the figure of £12M was mentioned.
The transfer window is nearly open for Arsenal, this week and next week, once players report
back for pre-season is when the movement will start.
A new name of the block, Spain under-21 international Juan Mata is the player for Wenger or so
go the reports doing the rounds on Sunday and Monday.
The long awaited signing of Gervinho is to be announced this afternoon, with the Ivory Coast
striker undergoing a medical at Arsenal. Terms between the player and the between the clubs
have been agreed, so unless there is something that crops up in the medical, Gervinho will be our
first signing of the summer.
Having virtually sealed the deal for Gervinho, Wenger is looking to finalise his next signing,
with Valencia and Spain midfielder Juan Mata high on the list.
Mata is a consistent player with Valencia, captaining Los Che last season to a Champions League
spot. Whilst the player has not requested move, Valencia's financial situation means they have to
sell just to stand still.
Whilst it's still early in pre-season and players are still finding their feet, some patterns
are emerging after two games.
Wenger's early acquisition Carl Jenkinson looks a good buy. He never put a foot wrong in
either game. As the pre=season friendlies move up a level it will be interesting how he copes
against Cologne and Benfica.
Reports in The Sun claim that the Board want Wenger to spend money this summer. They are
feeling the heat from the fans; this is self-evident with swathes of empty seats beckoning for the
forthcoming Emirates Cup. With 8 days to go there are plenty of seats available. The club has
been advertising heavily in the London Evening Standard and Talksport has been heavily involved in
promoting the tournament.
Saturday morning brings about more transfer rumours, speculation and heart-ache for Arsenal
fans.
Samir Nasri is reported to have rejected Arsenal's new offer of £115K a week. This is on the
back of some newspaper reports stating that Nasri's representatives having agreed a deal
withManchesterCity.
Another day of excitement for Arsenal in the transfer market without anything actually
happening!
Mata has been reported to have tied his colours to the Arsenal mast and rejected Harry
Redknapp's overtures, and nobody actually blames him. Spurs have had their one season In the
Champions League, the DVD Box Set has been produced to keep the fans sweet, whilst Arsenal with the
acquisition of players like Mata and keeping van Persie fit will challenge for the title next
season.
All media outlets appear to be suggesting that Juan Mata should sign sometime in the next 48
hours, which is great news. Also confirmed by our Chairman and this is a rarity, Arsenal never
comment on transfer news and every time Hill-Wood speaks it is to say something against the
existing players, Arsenal have made an offer for Jagielka.
Another transfer window means will Cesc go or will he stay. This is become repetitive and
tedious. Many Arsenal fans are sick and tired of the annual Barcelona attempt to poach our
captain for nothing!
Last summer was the summer we all thought Cesc would leave, he even asked to leave and told
Arsene to his face he wanted to leave, or so the stories go.
The young striker Wenger needs to turn his attention to is Ipswich Town's Connor Wickham.
Arsenal fans got a couple of close-up looks at this player when we played Ipswich in the carling
Cup, and even though he played on the wing supporting the lone striker he showed us he has
everything needed to be a top class striker.
Numerous blogs, football news sites and tweets claim that Gervinho has agreed a 4 year deal and
Arsenal have agreed a £10.5M fee with Lille. Let's hope Gervinho brings something different to
our attack.
GoonerBlog is reporting that Samba has also agreed a deal with Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers have
agreed to sell Samba for £9M.
Fabregas is threatening to do an Anelka and go on strike if Arsenal do not agree to sell him to
Barcelona. The words did not come from Cesc but from one of his entourage and reported in the
Catalan press.
Despite Cesc's protestations that he is happy at Arsenal and any move will be up to Wenger to
decide, clearly he is lying and if he refused to return to training then he will join the likes of
Anelka in the list of hated ex-Arsenal players.
The focus of the football world is Samir Nasri. The little mercurial midfield maestro, who was
proclaimed the little Zidane is the centre of a massive tug of war.
Nasri has not signed a new contract, he says money is not the route of the dispute, Arsenal have
offered £90,000 as week and Nasri wants in the region of £110,000 a week.
0-1 Gervinho
0-2 Gervinho 16′
1-2 Jenkinson (Own goal) 45′

When the season came to a close, Arsene stated that we needed a bit more strength and experience
in the squad, in particular in defence. The old sage has since enlightened us with the fact that
he will be busy this summer, this was then refined that most business will be done at the end of
July .
It's now or never for Wenger. The squad is the weakest since Arsene's reign started that there
is no doubt. Suspensions and injuries are mounting and we have only played three games. Our
squad for today included two players who are outward bound and contained 8 youngsters.
Whilst we could see the potential in both Frimpong and Miguel today, trophies are not won with
potential, but as Wenger told us in May with experience.
Nasri leaves for £24M, to add to the departures of Cesc £35M, Eboue £4M and Clichy £7M. That
is £70M so far, with Bendtner (£9M), Arshavin (£7M) , Squillaci (£1M) and Almunia (Free) to
follow. Arsene's total sales could generate nearly £87M. Yes Arsenal fans look at that number
£87M generated through sales this summer.

Very unlucky game for Arsenal. We deserved to win but it appears the luck was with Joe Hart and
his posts, check out the more eventful highlights than you would think below:

Our second string team weren't up to it; The midfield did not function properly with the Alex
Song and Denilson partnership failing in the centre and Tomas Rosicky appears to have never
regained his spark, he had before his injury woes.
Welcome to another day of Arsenal transfer rumours, surprisingly the rumour mill is not running at
full whack yet, still time though. It says a lot that a lot of fans are not expecting us to sign a
player, even after the manager has been a lot more forthcoming regarding transfers recently. Today
he said: "Unfortunately I [.
